Nintendo Land is a party game for the Wii U and is a launch title for the console. Nintendo Land consists of several small party-games that are meant to showcase the new console and the Wii U GamePad controller. Nintendo Land is to the Wii U what Wii Sports was to the original Wii: it’s a way to show off the possibilities of the new console. The game supports up to 5 players at the same time locally, with one player using the tablet controller and the others playing with regular Wiimotes. Nintendo Land mini-games Nintendo Land includes 12 mini games. Each game is different in gameplay and structure, and each game supports local multiplayer. Here’s the list of confirmed mini games so far: Luigi’s Ghost Mansion — the GamePad player is a ghost who must avoid the other players’ flashlights while trying to ambush them from behind. Zelda: Battle Quest — supports up to three players, each player controlling a character and fights enemies with a variety of weapons, including swords. The GamePad player uses a bow and arrow to take out enemies at range. Takamaru’s Ninja Castle — the player uses the tablet controller to flick throwing stars at enemy ninjas. Animal Crossing: Sweet Day — the players control characters from Animal Crossing where the objective is to steal candies before getting caught. F-Zero — based on the famous F-Zero futuristic racing series. Donkey Kong’s Crash Course — players must complete a Donkey Kong inspired obstacle course. Metroid Blast: players play together in a science fiction-type arena based on the Metroid franchise. Yoshi’s Fruit Cart: players attempt to steal fruit from a vendor without getting caught. Mario Chase: formerly known as “Mii Chase”, the mini-game features one player hiding on a level using the GamePad, and the other players trying to find him. Balloon Trip Breeze: players use the GamePad to swipe and create wind in order to guide a balloon across a 2D level. Octopus Dance: a music inspired mini-game. Pikmin Adventure: a Pikmin single player mini-game where players control Pikmins and complete levels. Nintendo Land gameplay Nintendo Land gameplay is based on offline multiplayer, with support of up to 5 players at the same time. One player uses the Wii U tablet controller, while the other 4 use the Wiimote and nun-chucks (when required). Most mini-games can be played in single player as well, like Takamaru’s Ninja Castle and F-Zero. Other games that rely in multiplayer can also be played by a single person, where the other characters are controlled by the AI. Nintendo Land screenshots Nintendo Land trailer nadine i would like to know if the pirate ship game that was showed at e3 2011 will be one of the games on nintendo land ? Bb I think I saw that in Game&Wario HOBO 10 games on one disk? Awesome! SuperNFan Its 12 games !! PACMAN those original games like the boat one were just to show off the hardware. They are not going to be real games. It’s really too bad. Aaron @Nadine No, It is not an actual game to be released it was just a demo to show what the Wii U can do, So yeah It won’t be there nadine ok ty just thought it looked kinda of neat oh well sucks to be me lol. Can’tWaitforWiiU This probably will not be sold but will be a game/app(you know virtual console whatchamajiggers) that comes with the WiiU this is evidenced by “Nintendo Land is to the Wii U what Wii Sports was to the Wii.” most people would dismiss this without ever thinking about it but I live for finding deeper meanings to any and everything. epic u mean it is built-in software EPICGAMER111 YES Duncan I don’t think nintendo were trinyg to amke any money out of it in all honesty. I think they give you the cards so you can actually play the AR games straight away instead of getting an image yourself. It’s not really a complciated issue,a nd i’m pretty sure Nintendo knows that it’s incredibly easy to use other images, I guess it’s just a way of amking sure all gmaers have some form of acessing the games. It’s also a good thing there easy to reproduce in case they got damaged or lost. ProClifo we’ve seen the CD plate Cactod The other games will be a pikmin game, a metroid game, a mario game, a yoshi game, a game and watch game and a ballon fight game Some Person Wasn’t there a 3 player demo for the WiiU based on Metroid? I think 2 players were people with guns against 1 person with the Gamepad piloting a ship (with motion I think). That might be the Metroid game. Pikmaster They weren’t against each other, they were together. Come at me bro Looks boring to me Come at me bro shiity face You bore me, to death! PACMAN You should shut up you butt!!! PACMAN that comment was aimed at come at me bro. MujuraNoKamen “Nintendo Land is to the Wii U what Wii Sports was to the original Wii” is this hinting that it might be packaged with every Wii U? I did hear that it had been confirmed but I’ve not heard any direct confirmation from Nintendo or even game stores. I hope this is the case, if not, well I hate to say it but not many people will pay £30.00 + for a separate mini-game collection, if they do package it with Wii U then it’ll do what Wii sports did and make people grasp the idea behind the hardware and its capabilities – this may be necessary as there’s still a lot of skepticism about Wii U (most of which is rumors and people hating but I don’t want to start ranting about that…. again) and lets face it the game-pad is a little more complex than motion gameplay so if Wii sports was deemed necessary, this will be (hopefully). Madmagican Yeah, I really hope that they bundle Nintendoland with the WiiU; it looks interesting, but I don’t think I would buy it separately :\ LyingTuna What happened to that wii-sports like game seen in the e3 2011 trailer? DORIS FROM NINTINDO SORRY ITS NOT A WII U GAME TACOMAN Hmmmm….Not sure if I am really “interested” in getting this. LyingTuna Don’t worry… When you play this video game you’ll have fun, fun, fun! Haza Hey. Nintendo Land is a 6 player game, beacause the animal crossing mini-game can support 2 gamepads and 4 wiimotes Gabe Hoffman Imagine if Valve got together with Nintendo and made a Pyroland add on pack. Joyous Killer I heard that thers a secret game called Luigi’s Revenge where he gets to kill mario for taking all the fame. snestendo The game seems a bit interesting, but i don’t think it will be a big seller. I think that it will come installed on the console. Come at me bro Like I said before, I’m not going to pay 60 bucks for six little mini games someone its actually 12 intresting games EPICGAMER111 i not sure if i should get this game I REALLY WANT WII U¡¡¡ I REALLY WANT WII U¡¡¡ I tink that is gona be awesome Nils I REALLY WANT WII U TOOOOO!!!!!! Will I be able to get something out of each mini game to fight some main boss? 2. Will I be able to let the other characters in the Pikmin mini game carry me back to base like in Pikmin 2? 3. Will the game have an ending or be like Wii Sports where you keep playing and there is no main objective except “have fun”? Other than that, it seems that this game will rock even Microsoft’s Socks, not that they could make something better from a Nintendo game *cough* *Banjo* *cough*.
