According to Nintendo’s Shinya Takahashi, the company is working on brand new IP for the Nintendo Switch. He said they are working on several new games that take advantage of the Joy-Cons and Switch’s unique features.

He also said that some of those IPs would be “out of the box”, something unexpected for a game, and gave the example of Brain Age for the DS. He also said that the company is working on games like 1-2-Switch.

Takahashi didn’t get into specifics as to what games they were working on or when we might see these new IPs.

Nintendo’s most recent new IP was Splatoon, which was a huge success on the Wii U and will be coming to the Switch as well.

The company will also release Arms on the Switch, a new fighting game that takes full advantage of the Joy-Con controllers.
