Nintendo Conference

Based on a recent report, Shigeru Miyamoto and Reggie Fils-Aime will host a presentation to the media before the E3 show floor opens this June.

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has already stated that they will be hosting two smaller conferences this year to show off upcoming software, in place of a traditional E3 press conference. Nintendo will hold this pre-E3 presentation on Tuesday morning, after which their new software will be available hands-on to the press.

Whether or not the presentation will be available to the public is still up for debate, but in the very least it shows that Nintendo certainly has a plan, and it doesn’t involve letting E3 pass them by. Recently we here at Wii U Daily shared our opinion as to why this is a good or bad decision for Nintendo, but until that date rolls around, we’ll just have to see how this new form of presentation plays out for the company.

  • O.k. Good for them !

    Better than nothing, I guess

  • BieberBlows

    My body is ready.

    • METHical reality

I feel just like a purple pikmin.

  • Well you think about it, you have one small conference about Wii U games and another small conference for 3DS games which I believe is actually a great thing to do so instead of boring 3DS/Wii U owners to death with stuff they don’t want to hear and just giving them a separate conference each means both sides get what they want

    • The article never stated that the Wii U and 3DS are getting separate conferences. The two E3 presentations that Nintendo will hold on Tuesday morning is a media event and partner presentation before the LACC opens.

      • It was a thing people like to call… an IDEA

      • DragonSilths

Nintendo is doing Direct up to and at E3 there will be more then two. Plus the investor one isn’t a direct. The Wii U will get one as well as the ³DS like last year.

        • Never said the partner presentation was a ND, nor did I mention any other presentations except for the ones occurring on Tuesday morning.

      • Ice Climbers

According to the official E3 Facebook page, this presentation will be a “Wii U Software Showcase.” Essentially it will be like the 3DS showcase from last year’s E3, except with actual new game announcements. There will probably be a few Nintendo Directs afterward for the 3DS and other things, such as the summer system update for Wii U, Miiverse on 3DS, and Flipnote 3D.

    • Nope, Nintendo Direct and this

  • Zombie Boy

Okay, I guess this might work… It’s kinda like setting your knockoff T-shirt stall up outside the club where the gig is taking place, but still… Better than nothing, I guess…

  • D.M.T

I trust Nintendo because i strongly believe that they know what they’re doing. I know they make mistakes sometimes but who doesn’t?

People who are constantly questioning Nintendo need to take a chill pill and wait and see what happens with the Wii U. Stop judging the console so much

    • Magnus Eriksson

You need to take a chill pill. So far Nintendo have been unable to show anything else than talk. They are failing in basically every aspect possible with the WiiU. And people like you are unable to see it because of lacking critical sense and basic understanding. Nintendo is stepping down, because they know they wont have a chance against the technical monsters of the new Playstation and XBox. You read this as a clever strategy. This you do only because you dont know better, and are to childish to listen to them who know. I feel sorry for you…

      • D.M.T

Lol it’s becoming obvious that you are a troll, someone who says stupid things to get under people’s skins. You just joined this website to talk negative about the Wii U. It’s funny how I never see you say something positive about Wii U when there is good news about it on Wii U Daily. People like you are the ones who are childish. This is the last time I will ever reply to your comments, I will not waste my time with people like you. Have a nice day 🙂

        • I would reply his comment, but not anymore lol

          • Magnus Eriksson

        • david jarman

          Oh, snap! LOL!

        • Diana of Themyscira

Positive about the WiiU? After what the WiiU did to Batman, they deserve a big fuck you.

          • D.M.T

Hahaha you gotta be kidding me. Are you following me or something? Why are you replying to me on a Nintendo site? 😛

        • Magnus Eriksson

I dont care what you will waste your time with. I just think you should consider to start with some sort of medication to overcome your tourettes syndrome. Or starting with therapy for your anger issues. 🙂

        • Silent

          Dont feed the idiots.

        • NkoSekirei

magnus is full of crap wen it comes to trolling just ignore him and the rest of other trolls that post here

        • Only a few are true gamers

Magnus is blowing air out of his @ss and just don’t waste time responding…He’s like bad breath..Hard to get rid of in less you use mouth wash or should i say nintendo wash..

      • Silent

According to the downvotes, the one who needs a sleeping pill is you. Make that the whole container of pills. Yeah…that’ll do the trick.

        • Magnus Eriksson

Well, being right is not a matter of democracy, its a matter of fact. So I really dont care whos prostate you wish to massage with your thumbs up. 🙂

          • Silent

You must have vision problems because I dont see any thumbs around here. You should really get those pills bro.

          • Magnus Eriksson

Oh, I see you dont master the art of metaphors. Ill explain it to you. When you press the up button to give someone your support this can be likened to a “thumbs up” meaning “cool shit bro, you rocks”, and downward voting is of course to be understood as the opposite “thumbs down”. In ancient rome Caesar gave a thumbs down to the gladiators he meant deserved to die. We can translate it to “Game over, you suck”. But we can also imagine you, and your “thumb”, masturbating rectally all the people that tells you what you want to hear, and downvoting everyone you dont want to listen too. This makes you to a kind of prostitute. Not a true fan but a true whore. 🙂

          • Silent

            See, No thumbs around here.

      • Only a few are true gamers

        • Magnus Eriksson

Leave a message…You should change your name to “a true whore”

          • Only a few are true gamers

Oh did i hurt your feelings mag. The only whore i know is your mama and i had her in the trunk of my car last night.Come on guy if your going to try and troll me…You will have to try harder. Your suffering shall be legendary even in hell.

      • this would be the right situation to say “take a chill pill.”:
this would be the right context to say “take a chill pill.”

      • yienwae

Last I checked, N has been doing well even though they have had slow starts in the past (ala DS and 3DS). I do not see this changing otherwise. The so called tech monsters of Sony and MS are going to cost a tech monster arm and a leg.

The U will get its share of 3rd party and 1st party exclusives and it will sell. N knows what their doing.

  • XelaFury

This is good news, hopefully Nintendo will show us some of the announced yet-to-be-revealed games at the showcase, like the new 3D Mario, Mario Kart 8, Zelda Wii U (the OTHER Zelda, not Wind Waker HD), SSB4 & Fire Emblem x Shin Megami Tensei.

  • Nintenjoe82

It almost smells like Nintendo have concocted this e3 no show as a plan to get attention. They got loads of media attention by only slightly altering what they have to do for e3 and are still at e3.

  • Frankie

It will be great to have Nintendo start E3 off. If they have a press conference all about games Tuesday morning, it will put a lot of pressure on Sony and Microsoft. Just because they have new systems, does not mean that they will have better games to show. People seem to forget that Nintendo can show more games than Sony and Microsoft combined. Games are what matter.

  • Tom Hoskins

Good good, Nintendo starting to step up the branding! I saw a Wii U advert last night!!! Just before or during Game of Thrones it had a father watching his son play Lego City, though it didn’t sell the game as a game for adults. So haters will still hate on it!

  • Dr Pomegranate

    Dear mr Eriksson

You appear to have no grasp on gaming in general and yet slap comment after comment of complete nonsense.

Firstly Microsoft and Sony are and always will be in Nintendo’s shadow. And secondly if you hate Nintendo so much get the fudge off a Nintendo related web site for you are completely wasting your time and anyone else’s who ends up reading you wining unfounded drivel.

Wii u is not dead it’s only when compared to the original wii’s sales does it appear to be struggling which incidentally was the fastest selling console of all time. It is selling much faster than ps3 Xbox 360 or vita did in their first year and has far more software to boot.

I love my wii u and no Sony or Microsoft branded pc will change my mind. Nintendo failing on every level? You don’t read much do you!

    • Magnus Eriksson

      Dear mr. Illiterate

      yours sincerely
      M. E.

    • Silent

I know this is obvious but it is either:
      A) he doesnt have as much fun as we have with his console therefore he looks for other ways to entertain himself.

      B) He owns a Wii U.

You should just ignore the bug, he will eventually go away.

      • Magnus Eriksson

        B) I own a WiiU

  • Ducked

Won’t say anything until after it happens.

  • John Andalora

You know what would have been better? If Nintendo did a press conference at E3.

    • i don’t know why, but i get the feeling that nintendo is going to surprise us by actually doing a confrence at E3

      • John Andalora

        They can’t.
You have to plan in advance and make payments before doing anything for E3. Someone would’ve found any plans for E3 if they were actually playing a ruse.
Also, there is no way Nintendo wouldn’t have a sullied reputation if they made a big stink about not doing E3 and having side presentations and didn’t follow up on it. The best thing they can do now is simply go with what they’ve said they would.

  • Squid

Last year’s was exciting. But shouldn’t it be called “Big Direct” or something since we have nothing to look forward to at E3?

  • Dominic Coradazzi

…when is it? the article just says “Tuesday”

    • Silent

      Tuesday, June 11

  • Only a few are true gamers

Nintendo knows what there doing. I trust nintendo and will ready

  • yienwae

I’m looking forward to seeing what all 3 have lined up. It doesn’t matter to me that N is going smaller.
