Should I speak for me or for everyone? UGH…

    • Dusty

For the most part, I agree. Only saving grace is Might Switch Force 2. But the VC releases on Wii U have been abysmal lately. Like one good game a month…

  • Agent721

I still don’t understand the lack of N64 games on the VC. It’s been a damn year already! Urban fing champion??!!

    • Luca Invernizzi

My bet is that they realized how much money they can make porting those games on WiiU and 3DS. In that sceario they probably want to wait and see how it goes with WW HD.

      Just my 2 cents anyway.

Maybe they’ll surprise us for christmas. XD

      • darkcreap

I feel you may be right. I hope that, for some good games, they do a remake. I never had the Gamecube, so Wind Waker HD is great for me. Much greater than a Virtual Console Version. I would also like to see a Starfox remake. I haven’t been able to play it.

For other games, I would prefer simply a VC version. Apart from that, given that this year they are bringing back the Luigi’s Mansion franchise, I highly doubt they will bring it to the WiiU, especially if they are going to port it from 3DS to WiiU as the rumours say.

    • Nintendo also promised GameCube games right?! ๐Ÿ™

      • A SNES Day Off

No, they never. That whole topic started because Reggie was quoted in an interview as saying that it “would be cool to see GameCube games” on the eShop, and now everyone believes they’re going to be made available. We’ve yet to even see GBA games there, so don’t hold your hopes up.

        • Wiiluigi

Nintendo did release GBA games for the ambassador program for early 3DS adopters. It’s been a year already since I received my free 20 games (10 GBA games and 10 NES games) Which makes me question why they haven’t released those 10 for sale. I mean the NES ones have showed up for sale. So I wonder why not the GBA ones.

I’m sure many of you know but for those who don’t here are the 10 GBA games: fire emblem: sacred stone, mario kart super circuit, warioland 4, mario & donkey kong, zelda minish cap, metroid fusion, Kirby and the amazing mirror, yoshi island sma3, f zero and warioware. You can still download these if you haven’t. Only for 3DS early adopters.

          • YayGs

They said they had no plans to bring those to 3DS outside of the ambassador program. It may have been an experimental effort that they decide they could use as a reward.

          • darkcreap

They might release them some time, but I think they might prefer to not do it because then it would lose the exclusivity feel of the ambassador program.

          • Wiiluigi

Thanks for clarifying. That is cool that Nintendo is keeping it exclusive to early adopters but it could be very useful for the virtual console.

          • YayGs

It is. But also unfortunate that we don’t get some other GBA titles on 3DS, but they may simply be wanting to focus on GBC titles. Though they are bringing GBA to Wii U which is cool but not portable.

    • Ace

That’s my point! I understand the licensing issues that go on with some games, BUT Nintendo owns so many of their own franchises on those consoles. COME ON MAN! Give us some Luigi’s Mansion (year of Luigi) and some Mario 64, Mario Sunshine, Mario Party etc…I have tried to be patient, but am at the point of irritation now!

    • Lusunup

Remember wii u just came out last years november 18 for Europe/ America and japan it came out december 12 can you guys be patient a little.. it’s still hasn’t passed a year yet.

  • Noah

Is there anyone else that would have loved a Sonic Lost World demo right now?

    • david jarman

I’m with you in that one. Japan got a demo. Why can’t we?

  • Zuxs13

Ashley will you be reviewing Deus Ex?

    • Yes.

      • Ace

I am trying to figure out what I should get…Since Watch Dogs has been delayed I want to get Pikmin 3, Deus Ex, Splinter Cell Blacklist or Resident Evil Revelations…which one should I get? Help…

        • It all depends on what kind of game you like. Pikmin 3 is a strategy game, while Deus Ex is a stealth RPG shooter and Splinter Cell is a stealth shooter. RE:R is a survival horror game. They all have their own merits, but my personal favorite of all of them is Deus Ex.

I played it on PS3 when it came out in 2011 and am currently working through the Wii U version for review.

          • Ace

Ok cool thanks. I am leaning towards Deus Ex since I’ve never played it. I enjoy Splinter Cell games, but have seen mixed reviews.

          • Justagamer

Yes but how is the leveling up system work? Is like leveling up for a game like skyrim?

  • Lil J Moore

They need to start releasing better titles and more of them weekly.

    • Jack5221

While I agree with you on that, I feel like they won’t start releasing more per week until they sell more Wii U consoles.

      • Magnus Eriksson

I have the same impression. But I think its a bad strategy. People who owns the Wii U is unsatisfied with it, and that doesnt generate more buyers from friends.

      • Tecpedz94

Ya but even the 3ds its not till recently that a few better titles have been released but im yet to see the real good titles on it and the 3ds has been out for a while and has been doing well so i can only hope they dont do the same with the WiiU and provide good titles soon. I mean on the 3ds they shoudl of already put GBA games and more “very” popular Virtual console games. Anyway in good time.

  • Adam

This is terrible. I want a link to the past, Rogue squadron, all the good games from SNES and N64, not obscure titles no one cares about! Release Super Mario RPG! Majora’s Mask! Then I will buy games!

    • MetroidZero

Got Majora’s mask on Wii Virtual Console via my Wii U. Enjoying Wii Off-TV play. ๐Ÿ˜€

      • Brandon Betlej

Thats cool but its just not the same as using the gamepad buttons to play it

      • Adam

I don’t want to buy a classic controller to do that. I never bought one for the wii, and I don’t see a reason to if I could just use the game pad. It’s wasting $30+

    • Andrew W Garttmeyer

Absolutely, this is really ridiculous. Clu Clu Land??? Urban Champion??? Why did they even do these games, what a waste!?

  • Denvy

I would actually like to see more games that are already on the Wii VC. Since I was promised a minimal upgrade fee, I’d like to take advantage of that.

  • wober2

    I cant tell, any sales/discounts?

  • Brandon Betlej

Dontcha just love how super nintendo games are more expensive than mighty switch force 2? That just blows my mind. And on top of that look at the virtual console games we’ve been getting. This is pretty ridiculous.

  • I am Error.

Finally, after months and months of waiting…
after countless e-mails to the Nintendo customer service department…
and weeks upon weeks of frustrated/unhappy comments on Miiverse in regards to the Virtual Console service…
Urban Champion AND Clu Clu Land.
Nintendo clearly has its release priorities in order.

All I can suggest is to please keep writing them.
Please keep expressing your concerns (politely) on Miiverse.
Be sure not to hate on the game (because someone is probably very excited about these titles) but focus on why Nintendo isn’t bringing out any of its heavy hitters.

Gamecube titles would be a joy.

With the VC service on Wii Nintendo showed support for NES, SNES, Genesis, Master System, TG-16, Arcade titles and even Commodore 64 for a time. The potential here is limitless and they are squandering it. Remember, these are the same creative minds who out of ALL the classics in Nintendo’s beloved 8-bit library chose ‘Urban Champion’ as a 3D classics title.
    There’s a disconnect there somewhere.

  • Gabe Hoffman

To the people moaning about VC all I can say is patience. Nintendo’s biggest priority right now is likely selling more systems and getting more games out. Virtual Console probably is not exactly high on their priority list at the moment

    • Aleks

Come on.”Nintendo’s biggest priority right now is likely selling more systems and getting more games out”… Thats exactly why the Virtual Console should be a MUCH bigger priority.

      • Gabe Hoffman

By more games out I mean new original games. 20 year old games are not exactly what I would call system sellers no offense

        • Aleks

None meant and none taken. But, while we wait for AAA titles how about some starfox, mario 3, mario 64, super n Zelda, FF3, Ocarina, mario kart etc. among many many others, on the VC. Lack of decent VC games, while i am waiting for big Wii U games, is driving my funds elsewhere.

          • Gabe Hoffman

You obviously don’t understand the techinical stuff that goes into making VC happen. The games likely have to re coded since Wii U emulators likely use a different base code. On top of that you also have to test for bugs and make sure it runs properly. N64 games obviously would take more time than NES

          • Aleks

I “obviously” dont understand huh? Ok, whatever. I understand that all those crap 30 yr old “classic” games they choose to prioritize to put on VC instead of games people are clamoring for, i wouldnt suffer to play if they were FREE, nevermind pay for. 85%+ games on WiiU VC are indefensible crap. So tired of sheeople defending EVERY SINGLE action their fave game system company makes. Who the hell is playing NES “tennis” on their WIIU? NOBODY! If they took ONEWEEK to add online play or leaderboards to this “classic” then maybe that would be SOMETHING. Yea, The “technical stuff that goes into making VC happen” is too too hard for Nintendo to wrap their brains around so i totally understand and will support their droplets of 3 decade old game vomit and defend them from any and all criticism. Not. Point: they are sometimes dumb as a box of rocks! Why doesnt their QUALITY mantra apply to VC? Because they are streeeeeeeeeeetching their IP as much as possible and to a fan with a brain, it is a practice that borders on being offensive.

  • Justagamer

Deus Ex: Human Revolution Directorโ€™s Cut

Is this game worth getting..it looks awesome but everything else this week is poor

  • The Clockwork Being

Yay Clue clue land is on the Virtual console YEAHHH

    -No one

Come on there should be quality releases or even timed for special occasions. Year of Luigi? Here Luigi’s mention. Mario 3D World? Here is Super Mario Bros 2, the game is it based on. A Link Between Worlds? Here A Link to the Past. Nintendo should be delivering the right games on the VC.

  • Dez

What terrible Virtual Console releases. They need to release something someone wants and just push out this crap in one huge heap, just keep them storage until you have them all prepared to dump. It took forever to even get the original Zelda and Zelda II is by far considered one of the worsts. Where the hell are all the other Zelda games at!?

  • Monkey

I love they give the bonus content for eshop. Hopefully it will be the same for the US release. I hate not getting the extra stuff just because I prefer digital.

  • ItzameyaToad

Im excited for Eshop to have all the Indie games like Qube, Festival of Magic(might be a 2014 release), Forged, Ittle Dew, Knytt Underground, Teslegrad etc. on it. This year will be great even without alot of “third party” support.

  • oontz

Horrible reviews already for Sonic Lost world ๐Ÿ™

    • Gabe Hoffman

Don’t listen to IGN their review was terrible

      • greengecko007

It is getting bad reviews across the board. It has looked like a bland Sonic game from the very beginning. The only people it appeals to are Sonic cultists.

        • Christopher Westcott

I’m just confused as to why Famitsu gave it such high scores…

        • wober2

idk when i first saw it i got excited for a sonic game for the first time in a long time. The art direction, the challenging platforming elements, a plot that reminds me of the old sonic…. too bad that the execution wasnt better

  • fireheartis1

I’m getting mighty Switch Force 2 for sure. I’m also thinking of getting Dues Ex Human Revolution: Director’s Cut on Download as well, but I’m just not sure because I usually buy the physical copy of games. I haven’t taken advantage of the Digital Promotion yet but that game might me my first.
