I wonder what’s seriously taking Nintendo so long to release Super Mario Bros 3 in the eShop? Anyways I’ll be glad when the GBA virtual console is out next month.

    • I imagine it’ll come once NES Remix Vol. 2 is released, since the Remix featured Super Mario 3 as one of the games.

      • Ducked

        Oh, wasn’t aware of that

      • Fred

BUt that’s frusterating. They promised it would come in 2013 in a Nintendo Direct last year. Oops.

Anyway thanks for the Thursday update. Every Thursday I get all excited about what VC games might come out and Every Thursday I get disappointed when I read that almost nothing is coming.

I’ll pay $1 to transfer lost levels to my Wii U, but I’m certainly not excited about it.

    • Magnus Eriksson

Europe got it a long time ago. Did US get Zelda yet?

      • Ducked

Yeah we got that a few months ago I believe, but still no SMB3

        • readypembroke

And the Nintendo said that we would get it 7 MONTHS ago

  • Sam

    Lost Levels! Hooray!

  • ChrisCamp

Ahhh Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels. I had that SNES cartridge with that on it and the first 3 Mario Bros games bundled into one. As a 12 year old it was the greatest thing ever

    • Magnus Eriksson

This is the version they should have released.

      • The Clockwork Being

shhh they need to make money somehow. Nintendo needs the cash, hence why if you already own the wii VC version you have to pay 1$ to get it on Wii U.

        • J_Joestar

Really? i thought that was just if you wanted the WII U extra stuff like off TV mode.

          • Marcus Larsson

            Thats the only “stuff”

    • bizzy gie

I loved this game soooooooo much. Especially the one where you jump on those eggs from that pink dinosaur (sorry I haven’t seen that darn SNES in AGES nor played the game in equally as long) and pick them up to throw them at her.

      • Daniel Brown

That’s Mario Bros. 2. And the bird’s name is Birdo.

    • mark kaser

my mom took me out the night it came out to get my copy…then she let me play hookie from school the next day to play it all day with her. nostalgia.

      • Swampert Master

        I am so jealous!

    • Razo_E

I remember getting that for christmas back in the 90’s. I was the N64 kid before he knew who he was.

    • MerryBlind .

Yeah I still have it on SNES, and while I want to re-buy on Wii U VC all the SNES games I have (I got Zelda ALttP and Mario World so far…) I’m definitely not buying the NES versions of Super Mario 1-3, forget it, I want All-Stars again.

I want All-Stars and DKC trilogy ASAP Nintendo!

    • Denvy

Until one discovered the edition with Super Mario World in it! Sure, by then SMW was old hat, but having it all in one cart was way cool 🙂

  • Capt. Smoker

Nothing really noteworthy I guess, shouldn’t be long before it’s one quality title after another 😀

  • BIG Franky

you are missing the new Star Wars Pinball tables…. $9.99….

  • Gamerrr72

    Ashley, you forgot…
New Zen Star Wars: Balance of Force for Wii U. Three tables $9.99.

  • MetroidZero

Can’t wait for the GBA virtual console. My body and hard drive are ready.

  • Ace

I am getting sick of the trickle strategy Nintendo is doing for the VC. Why can’t they release 1 game for each console per month? Like so:

1st week of the month = NES
    2nd week = SNES
    3rd week = N64
    4th week = GC

Then with the sprinkle of GBA games the VC would be AWESOME! That is only 12 games from each console per year…that’s not a lot. Am I asking too much?

    • For third party games licensing issues could get in the way. I’m not excusing Nintendo for this since the Wii virtual console catalogue is much more extensive. Honestly it seems as though Nintendo is trying to phase out virtual console support, with the lack of it on the Wii U.

“Here’s a few games, yeah sorry we didn’t get around to bringing all of them to Wii U before its five year life cycle ended. Oh well.”

If the current trend continues of 1 game per week, there will be less than 300 games available on the virtual console in 5 years.

      • Ace

True, but Nintendo has a ton of first party games that they wouldn’t have to worry about licensing for. 12 games per console per year would cover the 5 years for each console. Right?

What I mean is they have plenty of first party games for each console to bring out 12 for each console per year…

  • lwlshintalwl

I visit the store today and it seems Runner 2 is on sale at $4.99 as well

    • David Trail

Nintendo should really start focusing on having sales all the time and regualarly. They are great!

  • David Trail

Gonna download Double Dragon I think. I like these old school side scrolling beat em ups and they are great fun playing on the game pad when you are lazy.

  • AAAkabob

More importantly, Runner 2 is $5!

  • Ricky__Spanish

More shit from Nintendo. I’ll never get to play N64 or GameCube games on this piece of shit Wii U

  • Arthur Jarret

Don’t know why Big-N doesn’t want our money, because gamers are openly begging for more VC support now. Unless of course they actually take a loss on every VC title they sell due to manpower/programming hours spent etc.
