3 or more releases a week and a little more variety in console choices…….some N64, Gamecube, Sega items……would make me a happy VC customer. Looks like we will have a few solid weeks in a row at any rate. Now we just need some N64 love and maybe some of those DS titles that were said to be coming over to the VC

    • Ghasfarost

i am confident DS and N64 games will arrive by end of the year… they just have been soooo silent about it, it makes me nervous

      • Yen

I wonder if they’re waiting until the Gamecube adapter is released? I can’t think of a good reason to though.

      • Kobe

Ds games are on the 3DS

        • Ghasfarost

Yes, i know the 3ds is backwards compatible, but there are so many DS games that either are harder to find now or very expensive. I wouldn’t mind having a digital copy for those I can’t afford to pay the cartridge.

          • Shota

Ds cant play on sd card on 3ds. 3ds isnt strong enough to emulate ds

          • It doesn’t have to emulate the DS. 3DS can natively play DS games.

          • Shota

well just buy ds games. or a flashcard . cause ds games on 3ds eshop is never happening

        • gerb1977

Yeah…..and I have a 3DS but to be honest I’m very bad at ever using the 3DS. It only comes out for vacations and then i never really get to it. My Wii U gets a lot of use though and I’d love to be able to continue on with other Advance Wars now that I’ve played the GBA one.

    • Phoenix Maybe

Nintendo’s really taking their time with those DS games. So far they’ve only released Brain age in Japan and that’s it.

  • Ducked

Super Mario Kart, it’s about time!

    • palomino blue

Kinda surprised it didn’t come out in April/May but maybe they’re thinking MK8 will sell the original vs using the original to build hype.

      • Ducked

I was thinking the same thing.

      • Arthur Jarret

That’s what they did in Europe, though (as well as offering a €8 discount on the digital version of Mario kart 8 if you bought it in advance of MK8’s release) – I usually don’t get Nintendo’s logic 😛

  • Owh August 21st, Life Force 😀 (goes in standby mode)

    • Agent721

And for those of us who got it on the Wii, it’ll be cheap!

      • Then I’ll download Wii version asap if still possible. Didn’t know it was released on Wii aswell 🙂

  • Cena’s Smirk

I was hoping XType plus would be in this since they fixed the bug. I’m either getting super Mario kart and megaman 5 or I’m going to target. Target Canada has some good games for $10.00.

  • anthony optimo

    Sega Saturn RPGs, pronto!

    • Matthew Stapleton

      Sega games period lol

  • thedeciderU

it’s nice to see there’s actually something here this time quantity-wise. now if they just keep this new dosage coming we can get about 20-25 vc titles a month and the eshop will no longer be on a metaphorical life support. i know the console hasn’t sold to their expectations – but the trickle-down/drip of games on vc has not helped its cause. money and time must be spent on porting these, yes, but it takes money to make money.

    • thedeciderU

and great lineup of games this week!

  • tlopuse

Why Nintendo release the freaking games they released in the freaking wii already. you know what, Nintendo start make me tired. Sorry Nintendo if you continue like that, I’m think I’m to quit you like a customer. WE WANT FUCKING GAMES NINTENDO!!!!!!!

    • Epicstuf

Yeah, this is what people want tiopuse. Hardcore Nintendo fans want all their SNES games, Gamecube games and GBA games on WIIU.

      • Swinny

Speak for yourself. I want starfox and zelda. I want to see what Nintendo can do with their games in hd.

    • wober2

Agreed! The slow trickle of content from nintendo when it was already available on the wii is laughable. It would seem that once they make one nes game work on the wiiu they can use the same emulator to make all nes/snes/gba games work with the wiiu. This strategy seems more about maximizing sales on obscure games.

      • Swinny

Do either of you have a single clue as to how much man power Nintendo is putting toward new games? Zelda has the largest team Nintendo has put toward the development. And they’re pushing out more than 15 exclusive titles by the end of next year. So which would you rather have? Vc games or actual new games.

  • Niknique

I hope super mario kart will come out on the 3DS VC. Being able to play that game on the go would be awesome!

Im guessing no Mario Kart is a US thing, because we’ve had it in Europe for sometime now. Even got the price of the game off my MK8 digital purchase.

  • Cybernator is fantastic 🙂

  • Epicstuf

I want Hotline Miami on Eshop.

  • tux_peng

Shouldn’t I have gotten about 10 club nintendo coins from Super Mario Kart?

  • Matthew Stapleton

Cybernator!! That game was always BADASS!!! Nothing short of epic!!

  • Bob Charlie

Hey WiiUDaily, a link to a special Club Nintendo Hyrule Warriors offer featuring free Ganondorf skins!–PPEty_lPwMEfj

  • makkan

seriously super mario kart was out before mario kart 8 in europe. Because i remember the sale they had it was if you buy super mario kart you get mario kart 8 cheaper.

  • Devilus

You should have one an uptade like this for the EU too..

  • YoG99

Super Mario Kart, at last !!! Best racing game ever … I’ve been playing this game since 1992. Now, I can get rid of my SNES (not) and its aging controllers !

  • wober2

I swear the WiiU has the worst discounts/sales of any console.

On another note: Does anyone else think the eshop looks ugly, cluttered and somewhat hard to navigate? Those thumbnails look confusing and once the title leaves the home screen it is kind of hard to find without search. Although it is great that indies get on the home screen.

Virtual Console is seeing brighter days.

  • anthony optimo

Can’t wait to flying knee some mofos on Double Dragon II, thanks Nintendo!

  • Dialated

I wish Nintendo had a Garanteed release schedule for Virtual console games like Sony does on it’s store they get new stuff literally every Tuesday. I have searched all over the web and this doesn’t appear to be the case with the wii U , I bought the console in large part to play classics again now that classics have become collectibles the wii U was the better value but the store is much more empty than I anticipated. at least we know N64 is incoming it’s just too bad we won’t know when
