  • Dissapointed, very dissapointed.

    • Really? What are you disappointed about?

      • 1)No Bayonetta 2 gameplay footage
        2)Monolith looks like monster hunter
3)no update on playing wii games on wii u gamepad
4)not announced any new titles from third party companies
5)no update on expanding the gamepad range

        • Shadriczo

          And your point, is?

          • my point is as i said that i am disappointed from this, was expecting more, will have to look in the future i guess.

          • Shadriczo

Well that’s true, but E3 is in June, but there should be another Nintendo Direct before that ever happens.

          • Thats great news!!!!!! didn’t know there was gonna be another nintendo direct before E3!!!! i thought this was all till next christmas sooner!!!! thank you, my smile is back on my face again.looking really exited to next nintendo direct.

          • Shadriczo

No prob, just keep up to date with Wiiudaily and they’ll say if there is anymore updates.

          • Shadriczo

            So give them more time.

          • Moluks

O normal é que as grandes revelações fiquem para E3. Já achei que fui muito mostrar o jogo da Monolith Soft.

        • 1) He explained that they aren’t ready to show any. That’s why they showed the image of the people at Platinum Games.

          3) That’s not going to happen, isn’t it? I always thought they weren’t going to do any updates for playing Wii games on the gamepad. I don’t know the reason though. Maybe it’s just technical issues, or maybe it’s piracy problems since the Wii did have problems with that.

          4) They announced before this presentation that they were not going to announce any new games from third party companies. They said they were gonna do that at a later occasion.

          • 1)Still was expecting it

2)no harm done its just a brief video but i really hope is not gonna be like another monster hunter

3)i always think for the best

4)didn’t know this announcement, thanks for the info!!!

5)for me its a huge problem, i can’t play in another room other than the one i have wii u.walls are really thick and my room where the wii u is at the corner of my house.so i have never played anything off tv yet.

          • Nintenjoe82

As a lifelong Nintendo fan I can honestly say that they have never exceeded my expectations by that much in a single announcement. I expected a 35 minute ramble on stuff we already knew.

I was disappointed by lack of gameplay footage and it all looked a bit Monster Hunter to me too but it was all positive stuff.

I am sure they will bring Wii gamepad support (since the gamepad has a wiimote sensor bar in it) and Gamecube titles to the VC at some point.

If you are worried, spam the miiverse with your wishes and Nintendo will see it. If they remove your post it means they’ve seen it!

        • GeDDeN

in time most if not all will come. Damn you didnt like any of this…??? Wow i dont think you will ever be pleased…

          • i liked the fact that there are gonna be updates for loading times and i liked the fact that monolith is working on a wii u rpg.but to be honest i think you are right, i am a guy really hard to be pleased and have problem cause want everything to be perfect.i am a maniac sometimes i know.

        • DragonSilths

          1: Wait awhile.
2: Monolith is far superior to Crapcom. To me every MH game looks the fucking same.
          3: Meh I dont care.
4:This was a NINTENDO DIRECT SHOWING WII U GAMES NINTENDO WAS MAKING. It was never said they would show off 3rd party games. News flash PEOPLE BUY NINTENDO CONSOLES FOR NINTENDOS GAMES.
5: Why do you want that? You want to go to the grocery store with it? 30 Feet is perfect.

          • i will only answer you to “5” only cause i can’t see anyway your post  adds anything to the dialogue. showing off is not a way of communication. anyway no i don’t want to get it to the grocery store, just want after a long busy day to lay in my bed and be able to play in my gamepad.jesus my bedroom is second room next to my office and wii gamepad is not working there.am i asking too much???

        • Elem187

LOL Nintendo has ALWAYS been secretive. They love making their fans imaginations run wild…. Why would they lay out everything they have planned for this console?

By teasing stuff today, it makes everyone anticipate E3. Sony and Microsoft are going to try and steal the show, I think Nintendo will one up them.

    • Oh yes, a HD ZELDA GAME, BRAND NEW YOSHI GAME AND A GAME SHOWING OFF THE TRUE POWER OF THE WII U is considered disappointing… I sense a sudden Xbox/Sony fanboy within you…

  • only thing that I didn’t like was the fact that he didn’t mention anything about GameCube being on Virtual Console… :/ but seeing the Wind Waker remake, man that was a very good bandage on my soul!

    • Shadriczo

They haven’t announced the GCN games yet, but there’s still time in the near future. Remember, E3 2013 is just 5 months away.

      • Moluks

I know. Just saying how great will be to me can play this games again.

        • Shadriczo

Yeah, always wanted to play Metroid Prime 1 and 2 in GCN style again.

          • Moluks

      • Elem187

Agreed. I think the point of the Nintendo Direct is to shutup the haters… the criticisms were coming fast and quick, everyone was taking snipes at Nintendo because it didn’t release with a major title (Skyward Sword just came out in 2011, there is no way they will have a new zelda ready to go in less than 2 years.)

But to have a full HD remake of Wind Waker to release in August? my god I’m so getting it.

    • Moluks

      That’s will be great! Play
Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean

    • I think they are saving the Gamecube Virtual Console games for E3 when hopefully they announce a release date and some new 3rd Party Games for the Wii U and 3DS

      • Elem187

It would be interesting to see if they give the big ones an HD makeover… or is it just WW? or could the rest of the GC games just be upscaled?

  • Moluks

Como fazer pessoas perderem o medo de comprar um WiiU? Pergunte ao Mr. Iwata!

  • thanos1984

Thank god!I was starting to worry that they would come up with something new but NO.Only sequels to games we’ve been playing for a lifetime.Such a relief!!BRAVO NINTENDO…

    • So that new Monolith game isn’t new… oh yeah its a sequel to game called… Something….

Also, the Yoshi game is also new… so yeah… go figure

      • thanos1984

You said it yourself.MONOLITH not NINTENDO.I was talking for NITENDO’S first party titles.Don’t get aggressive,I like nintendo and owned every console except handhelds from them.

        • I also said Yoshi which is being made by Nintendo.

Also I wasn’t being aggersive in anyway

        • Elem187

Nintendo has other new IP’s that is coming, they are being really secretive about Acid Ghost

    • Nintenjoe82

If Nintendo are too secretive to tell people the basics like “we’re publishing some JRPG sequels” then they’ll definitely keep any new IPs under wraps.

Project H.A.M.M.E.R might be making a comeback!

    • RoadyMike

Dude, its pretty much the same with other big devs. We’re getting flooded by sequels
Halo,Uncharted,Bioshock,Mario,Cod,Battlefield,Gears,God of War,Zelda(?)Resident Evil,Devil May Cry,,Final Fantasy the list goes on.Bravo pretty much ALL game studios…
But do you know why?Cuz,like every title that becomes highly acclaimed and popular, sell well and earn millions of fans, everyone wants a sequel. So the devs give them to us.This will continue until all the games on the shelves have a 2 or 4 in the title or until we as gamers demand something new
So quit whining and actually DO something about it if you don’t like it

  • GeDDeN

  • Inzanoflex

dam monolith you give hell  of a game , that xeno looks epic

    • Noteak

After seeing monolith I am going to hold of on getting the Monster Hunter 3 and get monolith instead.

  • To be honest… I had a boner the whole way through… I was not disappoint.

Though I was a bit sad that they didn’t announce the GameCube Virtual Console games or anything else about if games like GTA V are coming to the Wii U but…

I will be too busy playing Wind Waker HD, that new Monolith Game, Yoshi Wii U, Alien Colonial Marines, Ninja Gaiden 3: Razors Edge (which I got today ^w^), Pikmin 3, ZombiU, Bayonetta 2, The Wonderful 101, Rayman Legends, Resident Evil Revelations, Assassin’s Creed III, Black Ops 2, Mass Effect 3, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, NintendoLand, New Super Mario Bros U, Sonic and Sega All – Star Racing Transformed and Funky Barn (Because its… FUNKY B-) ) to even notice…

Looks like 2013 is going to be good for my Wii U x3 (Some of the games I do have already but the other games that aren’t out yet and Funky Barn I haven’t got yet… but if I have enough money I will

    • Stephen Baxendale

Funky Barn has one of the funniest communities on Miiverse.

  • Elem187

This was Iwata’s “B**ch please, talk to the hand” to all the Nintendo haters taking snipes at the Wii U.

This console is going to be epic.

  • uPadWatcher

Best moments at Wii U Direct–

    1. Nintendo/MonolithSoft’s X for the Wii U
    2. Bayonetta 2
    3. The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker U
    4. The Wonderful 101
    5. Pikmin “snap” 3
    6. Shin-Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem
    7. Miiverse on Smartphones
    8. Wii U OS Upgrade
    9. Virtual Console for the Wii U
    10. Iwata’s “Direct to U” double-chop

  • Dominic Coradazzi

I know Iwata didn’t mention them but I think DS games would work well on the Virtual Console too; you’ve got two screens
seeing that we’ll be able to play virtual console games just on the gamepad did lift my spirits greatly though

  • Dominic Coradazzi

I just realized how awesome the in-game camera thing Iwata talked about for Pikmin 3 would be in the next smash bros 😀

  • kikkelipissi

This direct was awesome except we don’t know what retro is doing. I hope new 3d metroid

  • Nintendo should make the legend of zelda ocarina of times in HD. I would love to see the game in HD

    • Srpg2ishere

  • Nintendofreak

  • InterTripleteWorldChampion

Nintendo is more than alive! I’m sorry for the 4-5 people hoping it’d have died soon, but after a Nintendo Direct like THAT, the hipe over Wii U games will increase day by day and it’s legend will last… #1, as usual!
