Take this with a grain of salt, but Cubed3 is reporting that one of its readers received an email from Nintendo’s technical staff stating that a firmware update would solve a problem the user was inquiring about. According to the member, he was seeking a resolution to the browser issue that causes it to freeze while watching a YouTube video. The email reply stated, “tomorrow there will be a big system update for the Wii U and this should solve all problems concerning YouTube”. This is an interesting development if true, but we’re treating it as a rumor for now as there has been no official confirmation that an update will be available tomorrow. We do know that a major system update is on the way, however. local_offer Nintendo nintendo direct wii u Wii U update stars Further Reading Nintendo shares up 20% since Switch launch What's your dumbest death in Breath of the Wild? YouTube’s latest redesign is messing with my WiiU so badly that I’ve resulted in using the horrid YouTube App. First they updated the video encoding for Commertials and the WiiU didn’t recognize it so commercials only were Audio Only. Then they fixed the tag, but it’s not the right encoding anyways so the WiiU just hard locks randomly because it’s not all commercials, just some. Cesar Barroso It could be true, I have the same problem sometimes (very few times) but happens only with youtube on the browser while trying to play the same video (at that time it doesn’t happen to any other video). Fred Mine doesn’t freeze when I boot Netflix, but it does freeze when I try to get out of Netflix DK_Hadouken It is actually an issue with Netflix. I called them about it and they gave me a month for free. As of today, there was another Netflix update. Hope that helps. Shigeru Miyamoto I thought netflix was the problem, but then I realized that it was my wifi lol. Mercurio2054 Marcus Navarro lets all call netflix. infact i was encouraging in the miiverse some users to call netflix to fix that. Marcus Navarro Idk. I’ve gotten away from using it. Not much of a movie person tbh. I’m sorry, but I don’t think I can help. Mercurio2054 i summong you just to read his comment… that could be a Netflix app problem. Ryan Donnell Netflix has to correct the connection issues as well Lusunup HOPEFULLY fix the freezing problem in general…. Bob Wilkerson Mine occasionally locks up at the Netflix boot with the progress just spinning. Netflix stated this was their issue and not Nintendos Mercurio2054 mine with a black screen. but this is Netflix app problem, not wii u. Marcus Navarro How does Netflix work better on the 3DS than the Wii U? Does not compute… Mercurio2054 good point, they could use a different languages (programing languages)… we really don’t know, can be me trying to excuse Nintendo. Bob Wilkerson yeah, that’s what I said.. Netflix issue with their App not a Wii U issue. Justin Carlson Anyone still getting odd graphical glitches (small bright colored horizontal lines) and hard freezing (requires pulling the power plug)? It used to happen a lot more before the system updates, but it still happens on occasion now. I’m trying to figure out if I should send my Wii U in before it’s out of warranty. Fred I still get the freezing when I try to get out of Netflix it happens to me almost half the time. Zuxs13 That sounds like a power supply issue. I would send the system in. fireheartis1 Yah I get the freezing thing every once in a while as well. It happens when I play my Wii U more than 2 hours at a time. I also have to pull the power plug for it to fix it. Once it happened when I was playing Splintercell: Blacklist during an online match. It really sucked because I left my teammate stranded on the game. Benjamin Moberly It only happens once in a while with the Netflix app. FackMaaii My Wii U is having a hard time connecting to my internet. In fact, it won’t connect at all. My PS3 is right under my Wii U and connects flawlessly. Maybe the update could fix my problem as it occurred after the latest update… now I just need to find a way to get the update downloaded to my Wii U hmmm…. Mark That’s pretty strange. I’ve never had a problem like that unless that area I’m in has bad connection. FackMaaii My internet connection sucks tbh. But all my other devices (like Ps3, iPad and laptop) still connect. My Wii U connected flawlessly before the latest update. Might be a really rare case though but as long as I can play my games, then it shouldn’t be that big of a problem. JB Maybe all your devices is bogging down your connection to the Wii U? Have you tried disconnecting all your devices and letting the Wii U run by itself on your network? Or you may need to turn off all your wireless devices and reboot your modem and routers. FackMaaii All my devices are rarely ever on at the same time. PS3 is turned off on the back at the moment and my iPad is turned off as well. Only my laptop is online right now but still no luck. But for some reason, I just tried using my phone as a hotspot and NOW my Wii U connects. Really strange, might need to call my provider though lol. wober2 my wiiu connects but my 360 has problems… networking just seems like magic to me… Zuxs13 You could have an issue with your router. MetroidZero I’ve had the same problem. My Wii and Wii U are right next to each other. One time my Wii U couldn’t connect but all my other wireless devices could connect. FackMaaii It’s really strange. But for some reason if I use my phone as a hotspot, it connects… but that’s just going to be super expensive for a longer period of time so it’s really not worth it MetroidZero Yeah, hopefully the update tomorrow fixes things. Be sure to double-check your wireless settings in System Settings on your Wii U. Googs Well, I can at least confirm that the Dutch quote that had been posted actually does say that. I’d love to see a screenshot of the email though, that would be great. Brandon Betlej I really hope this update speeds up the wii u OS.. If not im taking a hammer to it, see if that speeds things up Zuxs13 you should try adderall, it will help you more than a hammer. flybass nah – he would want to slow himself down in order for the system to appear sped up, right? 00EpicGamer00 Yaaaay! I was hoping Nintendo would fix that issue. Smartass2 How about allowing game saves to be transferred to a SD card. Zuxs13 or save it to NN so you wont even need to save it to an SD card. JB Or both. Just in case NN is down for maintenance or I lose my Internet connection I can still access my saves. More options is good nonetheless 🙂 Zuxs13 yeah both wouldn’t be bad. Id like them to all memory expansion using the SD card slot. Games would load fast from an SD card versus a USB drive. Andrew Chambers Um, SD cards are slower then USB drives. Zuxs13 not really, if the Wii U had USB 3.0 then yes but it doesn’t. Its too hard to say because we dont know how fast their SD card drive will read and write, but there are a lot of fast SD cards out there, faster than many USB drives. Andrew Chambers You need a high quality SD card slot and a high quality and high speed SD card to be faster then USB 2.0. The average USB drive has a read speed of about 23-25 MB/s while a class 10 SD card only guarantees a minimum of 10 unless specified. I’m not arguing that there aren’t SD cards that are faster then some USB drives, but comparing technology released at the same time, USB is always faster. If Nintendo put USB 2.0 ports in the Wii U what makes you think that they’d put a high grade reader in there? Then you have to take into consideration that obviously Nintendo expected you to only use the SD card for Wii mode, which wouldn’t utilize the higher read speed anyway. Zuxs13 Sure the USB could be faster, but i doubt it would be noticeable, but an SD card wouldn’t require an external power supply (saving you money) and it would be portable (assuming the make a real NN where you can sign in on another Wii U) Andrew Chambers If you were going to need an external power supply then you’d be using a 2TB HDD vs a maximum of 64GB in an SD card. Most 1TB HDD and all new 500 GB HDD’s have only a single cord. Zuxs13 Nintendo recommends a self powered external hard drive. The one i plugged in used about 100 watts (which is nuts) current one i have is a mobile one with an external hard drive, uses about 15-20 (which still sucks) since it needs to be powered up when the system starts. Yes a USB drive offers you more space if you want it, but an SD drive will add space to your Wii U if they would allow it and even if it used only a max od 10mb/s SD cards which is only a 1/3 the speed of USB 2.0 it would be a great option especially for VC games. JB It’s been so long since I’ve used YouTube in my browser on the Wii U. Is the problem really that bad? wober2 I just used it this morning and had no problems. Kind of a coincidence I never use my wiiu browser for youtube usually. Anna This started happening at 11p, EDT when maintenance started Benjamin Moberly It just happens randomly for me. 1 out of every 50 times I watch a video I’d say. ICHI Has Magnus started emailing Nintendo directly!? Ducked And what happens if its not the big update we’ve all been waiting for? We all come back here on Wii U daily tomorrow morning 🙂 flybass indignation. that guy AWWWWWWWWWWWWWW YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH! THEMIGHTYDOOVDE N64/Gamecube VC please Nintendo. FutureFox Though I like this it would certainly fly in the face of people who bought the re-releases of Ocarina (3DS), Goldeneye and now Wind Waker. But then again the needs of the many and all that. C4 If there will be GC VC they don’t have to release every game on it. Likely Wind Waker wouldn’t be I guess. Don’t see an issue with Goldeneye and Ocarina of Time. People who prefer the original games could get them on VC. No harm done IMHO…? FutureFox Good point. They don’t have to release all of them. Pikachief I don’t think it’ll hurt anyone who bought a 2 year old enhanced remake to release a 15 year old game. They’re pretty much 2 different games. Also like other said they can release those games later. Knowing Nintendo they’ll release games like Gex, Turok 3, Glover, and Rampage months before any of the really popular stuff. DragonSilths Is this the big Fall Update that was the Summer Update that got delayed? Where we get our own private Miiverse Communities? Kenshin0011 One of my biggest gripes is how “Notifications” is its own separate app that takes time to load up and takes quite a bit to go back to the home menu….Really Nintendo? It’s 2013, I should be able to have my notifications appear in a drop down menu very quickly. I can only guess why they made it that way, it LITERALLY makes it harder for both Nintendo and the customer. My guess is that the high execs at Nintendo are aged and simply don’t care or think it’s an issue….when it very much is. Also, where are folders? You designed the application menu similar to the 3DS….and the 3DS has folders! Why is it taking so long to add damn folders? Marcus Navarro Welp, if one of your biggest gripes is the notifications, then that’s a good sign. That’s a frivolous, trivial issue in a list of bigger issues(party chat implementation, tying digital purchases to the account), so the fact that you’re so concerned about such a miniscule error is a sign that Nintendo is correcting the other ones. Kenshin0011 Well, I am very much concerned with what you said, as well as Miiverse chat integration, 3DS Miiverse, overall OS loading, etc. The reason that notifications is my biggest gripe is because it’s so insanely ridiculous that it’s messed up in the first place. It is so easily fixed and everyone else is able to do it, Wii U definitely has the power to do it. It’s the definition of “face palm” to me. Marcus Navarro Yet it’s still a small problem. It can wait. Kenshin0011 “It can wait” is the slogan that could potentially spell disaster for the Wii U. Keep in mind, I don’t mean Nitnendo is doomed, I mean that if they keep it up the Wii U could do worse than the Gamecube. Nintendo is putting WAY too much in the “It can wait” box, such as, New IP’s, Metroid, Marketing, OS optimization, etc. I understand that they can’t have everything ready out of the gate, but it severely disappoints me that the Wii U has been out nearly a year and still does not have a flagship first part title that is unique and new. NSMBU is a sequel, Windwaker is an HD remake, Pikmin 3 is a sequel, Super Mario 3D world is somewhat a sequel….And again, those games aren’t bad, I think they’re great, but remember the feeling of playing OoT on the N64? Or Luigi’s Mansion on Gamecube? Or Mario Galaxy on Wii? Those were flagship, groundbreaking games that were on the system around launch and showed us what it can really do. Marcus Navarro You think I think that Nintendo should procrastinate? No, I don’t. There is a difference between procrastination and prioritizing. Notifications are of such low priority that they’re not even mentioning. Seriously, that’s a pathetically trivial detail, given their function. Since you brought it up, I know that we’re in the “Now” generation, but you gotta understand that good things take time and people need to learn how to fucking wait. OoT, Luigi’s Mansion, and Super Mario Galaxy had VERY long development cycles. In fact, Luigi’s Mansion had a RIDICULOUSLY long development cycle. Why did you even bring those up? They didn’t add substance to your point(they more or less had the opposite effect). They were groundbreaking games from virtue of being meticulously crafted OVER TIME! *sigh* EA and the mobile market have spoiled the hell outta everybody… “Nintendo is putting WAY too much in the “It can wait” box, such as, New IP’s, Metroid, Marketing, OS optimization.” That’s not being procrastinated(bar the Metroid game). Miyamoto’s working on a new IP. W101 IS a new IP! Nintendo just acquired Deutche LA, an award-winning MARKETING FIRM! Nintendo’s teaming up with Tesco to further market the games in the UK. And what the fuck do you think this upcoming system update is? Your point is moot. Mercurio2054 End of conversation. Kenshin0011 Did I ever say the games should be rushed? No, and I know that great games have long development cycles. That’s besides the point. The point is that Nintendo had their balls in a line in the past and were able to launch new systems alongside these groundbreaking games. And sorry to burst your bubble, but in real world business, there’s no such thing as consumers being “spoiled”. If there’s demand, then you supply. Pretty simple. Nintendo should have planned to have the development cycles of just one major AAA 1st party games line up AT LEAST within the launch window of the Wii U. They’ve done it before, other companies accomplish this, and it’s not too much to ask. Is it really so much to ask to have a new 1st party IP be released in the first year of the Wii U being out?! I know Miyamoto is working on a new IP, and I can’t wait, though Nintendo should have had another new IP already in the pipeline to launch with the Wii U; they cannot only rely on Miyamoto. And even now, we’re so past that! The Wii U’s been out a year and we can’t even confirm that there are any other new IP’s that are yet to be announced! W101 is a great game, but it’s not first party. I didn’t know that they bought Deutche LA, which I applaud, though I’ll say it again, measures to ensure sufficient Wii U marketing should have been taken into consideration BEFORE the Wii U came out. My main point is that the Wii U has yet to see a major 1st party game that is unique and new, when in the past Nintendo were the forefathers of this. rp17 Nintendo said they had development difficulties switching over to hd which forced them to delay some of their best games past launch window. And for the record, new IPs almost never sell well at first, so why would they want one for launch. Continuing, Miyamoto once said that Nintendo is always innovating their games, and if the Mario games didn’t have “Mario” in the title, a lot of them could be their own IPs. Just because the Wii and Wii U have similar names, does that make them the same? Most of these “sequels” you talk about have as much difference or more between them as the Wii and Wii U! Marcus Navarro *sigh* Is this even worth a rebuttal. Aw fuck it. I’ll just pick out the shiny parts. “The point is that Nintendo had their balls in a line in the past and were able to launch new systems alongside these groundbreaking games.” Not OoT. Not Galaxy. Not Sunshine. Not Luigi’s Mansion. Not the original LoZ. Not even Pokemon. Not even Super Smash Bros.(for any of their consoles). All of those came quite some time post-launch. Yawn “Nintendo should have planned to have the development cycles of just one major AAA 1st party games line up AT LEAST within the launch window of the Wii U.” They did. NSMBU. No matter how you personally feel about the game, it’s a 1st party AAA title. Yawn. “If there’s demand, then you supply. Pretty simple.” Never that simple. Logistics, long-term effects, ACTUALLY MAKING THE FUCKING PRODUCT, short-term profit, longevity just to name a few. “The Wii U’s been out a year and we can’t even confirm that there are any other new IP’s that are yet to be announced!” Incoherent, uninformed statement. Research the subject. Yawn. “My main point is that the Wii U has yet to see a major 1st party game that is unique and new, when in the past Nintendo were the forefathers of this.” W101. End of story. Great. Another person doling out belligerent diatribes. Where have I seen this again? Kenshin0011 You’re sarcasm doesn’t make you correct, what your saying is not true. Mario Sunshine and Mario Galaxy both were released within one year of console launch or less. NSMBU is a great game, but being a sequel that is not much different than past titles makes a less impressive launch game. The W101 is not a 1st party game. It’s an exclusive 3rd party game made by Platinum that’s published by Nintendo. A top tier 1st party game are games like DK, Zelda, Metroid, Mario, new IP, etc. Marcus Navarro My sarcasm magnifies your use of hyperbole and/or the lack of info on just about all of your points Save for 2 of the games you listed. So because what I said about Sunshine and Galaxy ended up being a blunder, that invalidates everything I said? So I guess that when some humans kill, that overrules every single humanitarian thing ever done by an organization of humans, right? That’s how that logic works, and it’s a fallacy within itself. If what I’m saying isn’t true, then DEBUNK it! Don’t just sit there and tell me that I’m not right. Tell me how Edit: Also, Galaxy and Sunshine didn’t launch alongside the consoles, as you previously stated, so that’s hyperbole. Benjamin Moberly Pikmin 3 is the first Pikmin sequel in nine years and you’re mad that there hasn’t been a Metroid sequel after just 3? Marcus Navarro Logic doesn’t seem to be his best friend… Kenshin0011 True, Pikmin 3 is very much welcome, though it is still a sequel. The True Gamer I don’t see Nintendo being too innovative until the Wii U is deemed universally successful Marcus Navarro That statement is unclear. If that statement’s true, then 2Chainz is a revolutionary rapper. The True Gamer Nintendo has used only gimmicks to achieve the public’s attention. They have stated how HD development is more challenging than they anticipated, and their games cannot constantly be innovative until they have a stable hold in the console market, which they do not, as two highly anticipated systems are releasing soon and Nintendo hasn’t made an effort to appeal to the average gamer. Marcus Navarro That’s a highly facetious and downplaying paragraph you have there. And without a shred of actual points! Goodie! “Nintendo has used only gimmicks to achieve the public’s attention.” Relative to what context? If you mean Nintendo’s history as a whole, then a rebuttal to this statement isn’t even necessary. Go look at their history. Nintendo’s put out excellent games over the course as a developer. “They have stated how HD development is more challenging than they anticipated,…” Yeah? And? I’m sure as a developer, using new tools would be a learning experience, would it not? That point is moot. “…and their games cannot constantly be innovative until they have a stable hold in the console market, which they do not…” Ummm…yeah, they do. All of the Big 3 do. The Wii U’s not just gonna shrivel up and die because the XBOne and PS4 are being launched. Nintendo will sell units, and they will continue to make profit off of it, no matter how miniscule it may be. That portion of your run-on sentence is quite facetious and baseless. Next! “…and Nintendo hasn’t made an effort to appeal to the average gamer.” *sigh* Yet another statement based off of pre-conceived notions…remind me why I’m not surprised, please. The definition of “average gamer,” or the mean of ANY population for that matter, is both a grey area and differs with certain contexts and circumstances. You’re talking like you did a scientific poll for Obamacare! After going over your diatribes, I can now conclude that you’re actually speaking for yourself, but in the context of everyone else. Unless you cite your responses, I cannot take into account what you’re saying. The Kool-Aid has adverse effects on people’s health. Better to stop drinking it now. Guest 3DS notifications are much faster to access, I don’t like the way Wii U does notifications. leo wiiu os needs a lot of work Simon Stevens You know the wii u is hotting up when boomerang rentals uk flood my inbox telling me to add upcoming wii u games to my list, just finished pikmin 3 and I still gave so many more magical games to get through, times like this, I’m glad my ex dumped my ass, I need all the free time I can get, thanks Ninty <3 Marcos Crill Colon This might be true cause that’s the most talked about thing on mii verse right now the YouTube bowser when you click on the play button it freezes the wii u so you have to unplug it Ryan House Yahoo! I can’t Wait Anthony K Aurelia Google! Wait….nm, lol. The True Gamer I don’t own a Wii U. I have wanted to buy one since I watched the E3 conference where Nintendo announced the new system. A few years have passed, and Sony and Microsoft have followed Nintendo in announcing their new systems. Overall, the Wii was a decent system. It had all the Nintendo franchises I enjoyed. The Wii was never the only system I played, as I own a 360 and PS3 also. The support from developers for the Wii never really competed with the Xbox 360 and PS3. In fact, the Nintendo system missed out on a truly comparable version to the other systems for nearly every third party games. I see how there is a market for Wii U, but Xbox One appeals to me more. While I plan on buying a Wii U, PS4, and PSVita later in the generation, the main concern I hold about the Wii U is price. Yes, I know there was a price drop on the deluxe model. I personally believe that the majority of the gaming community consists of people who do not plan on buying a Wii U soon, and plan on purchasing one of the systems from Sony and Microsoft. I don’t see Wii U surpassing PS4 or Xbox One sales this generation, but I’m sure in a few years with a constant steam of games and a price below $200, Nintendo could justify a Wii U purchase for those who never gave up on Nintendo, but also never felt devoted enough to purchase their eighth generation system. Marcus Navarro Bruh…if you plan on getting all of those consoles, then price shouldn’t matter… The True Gamer Price still matters to me, as I was severely disappointed in my 3DS and the Mario games that were released for it. There are very few Wii U games I would consider ever buying, and nearly none interest me more than games that don’t appear on Nintendo systems. Marcus Navarro The 3DS has so many games worth buying. If you bought a 3DS for Mario, then you’re only disappointing yourself. Price shouldn’t matter if you really want a PS4. The Wii U Deluxe is $100 cheaper(even more cheap in some places), so idk why it matters. The True Gamer PS4 has remote play support, and I don’t see Nintendo supporting third parties for too much longer. The Xbox One and PS4 both increase power and networking capabilities, both which developers want. The Wii U is more similar to the 360 and PS3 than Xbox One and PS4, and I just don’t think the device is worth more than $200 to me personally. Marcus Navarro “…I don’t see Nintendo supporting third parties for too much longer.” Reverse this statement. The Big 3 don’t support 3rd parties. 3rd parties support the Big 3. How’s the Wii U at all similar to the PS360? Completely different architecture, more powerful, more critically-acclaimed exclusive 1st party IPs. “…I just don’t think the device is worth more than $200 to me personally.” Whatever, but your justifications are very shallow and ill-informed. I can make a statement saying that Xbox LIVE doesn’t give me enough bang for my buck to justify paying $60/yr, but if I try to do what you just did with the Wii U(make comparisons based off of perspective of its prosperity, make claims that are completely baseless), then would you believe me? Lemme answer that for you: hell no! Edit: You also didn’t try to back up your “disappointment” with the 3DS after my statement about that, so I have no reason to believe you have any idea what you’re talking about when it comes to the Wii U. The True Gamer Let me put it this way: I believe that Nintendo attempted to move its assets into making games for children. They use to appeal to people of all ages, but Nintendo’s games have been simplified, and are generally short. Nintendo’s first party games are not more critically acclaimed than Sony or Microsoft. I can list examples and facts, but I don’t care to. I see you’re a Nintendo fanboy. I have no true Need for a Nintendo console. Other games are more fun to me. Marcus Navarro “I believe that Nintendo attempted to move its [intellectual properties] into making games for children. They use to appeal to people of all ages, but Nintendo’s games have been simplified, and are generally short.” No, no, and no. I could also list examples and facts, but since the indifference is mutual between us, I won’t bother. “Nintendo’s first party games are not more critically acclaimed than Sony or Microsoft.” Ah, the plot thickens, since you decided to twist my words around. My statement “more critically-acclaimed games” is quantitative, not qualitative. I said “more,” not “better.” And yes, they have put out a larger # of 1st party exclusives over their existence as a video game company. Fact. “I see you’re a Nintendo fanboy.” Try your ad hominem bullshit as you wish. You don’t know me. I was pointing out how asinine your statements were. Good job trying to downplay the validity of a complete stranger that obviously knows more about the subject than you do. “I have no true Need for a Nintendo console. Other games are more fun to me.” No one has a true Need for any gaming console, yet people still buy them, yeah? That point is moot. So, not only have you showcased a lackluster effort to look into something to see if you’d like it or not in addition to a lack of knowledge on the matter as a direct result, but you decide that it’s a good idea to develop an opinion based on something you know little about. Sip on the Kool-Aid a little bit more, eh? Edit: Still didn’t justify your 3DS disappointment. Eh. The True Gamer I don’t care what you have to say. I don’t like Nintendo’s direction to appeal to children. I like other systems better. Don’t try to argue with somebody’s opinion. Enjoy your Wii U. gusto Then why are you here? The True Gamer Because I’m a gamer, and I enjoy games. I’m not going to argue with fanboys over my opinion. 00EpicGamer00 You shouldn’t be here if you don’t like Nintendo game. And it’s very immature to call someone a “fanboy” when you were being rude in the first place. The True Gamer If people are fanboys and are not open to new ideas, I will call them fanboys. 00EpicGamer00 You’re still being immature by saying that. Also, what “new” ideas did you have that’s so important for us to know of? The True Gamer New ideas, as accepting the flaws of a systems, instead of a zealous following of the system. All game systems have fanboys, and without people that complain, game companies become fine with ignoring the gamers who drive their profits. Marcus Navarro *sigh* So yo called me a fanboy based off of pre-conceived notions, huh? I know such should be expected by now, but c’mon, man. Your justifications are asinine and, when they were challenged, you never backed them up. I know the system’s flawed. They’re getting fixed. End of story. And I don’t just play Nintendo btw. But of course you wouldn’t know that because you don’t know me. Yet you still draw conclusions as you pull at straws. As for a lot of Nintendo’s 1st party games being “easy,” you have yet to justify that besides pointing out the NSMB games. Instead, you pull up their neo-classics as comparison. 00EpicGamer00 “I don’t like Nintendo’s direction to appeal to children. I like other systems better.” Why’d you get a 3DS then? Especially if you already knew Nintendo’s main demographic. Also, if you like the “other systems better,” then you shouldn’t of gotten a 3DS to start with. Seems you wasted your money on something you never really wanted. Here’s a little tip for the future: Do RESEARCH before you buy something. The True Gamer I do my research on every system. Nintendo’s Mario games (their main series) have declined in quality in my opinion. I wanted Mario and Pokemon games. I just believe the Wii U should have appealed to a market beyond the 9-12 year old demographic. 00EpicGamer00 Umm, Assassin’s Creed III, Resident Evil: Revelations, Wonderful 101 (rated T), and Call of Duty says “hi.” If you want future releases, then there’s Assassin’s Creed 4, Watch Dogs, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Super Smash Bros. The True Gamer I meant first party games, and just because a game is rated m doesn’t make it a game that doesn’t appeal to children. Kids play COD all the time. Games like littlebigplanet and Forza can be rated e and still appeal to all ages. Most eighth gen games that are multiplatform won’t be able to run well on hardware well below the specs of the systems the games are designed for. 00EpicGamer00 Mario appeals to all ages too you know. The True Gamer The games like Super Mario 64, Sunshine, and the galaxies did, but then they made sure the new one was just an easy game that anybody could complete. Same goes for new super Mario bros. 2 00EpicGamer00 What’s wrong with an easy game? You seem to think that just because a game is “easy” it’s automatically for kids, when in reality, you are wrong. There’s casual gamers that are adults. The True Gamer You know what? You’re right. Mario games have been made for children. There becoming casual games. I simply don’t enjoy easy platformers. My justification for buying Nintendo? Pokemon games. An example of a perfect game for everybody. 00EpicGamer00 Whoa, hold on a sec. I never said Mario is made for children now did I? I said that there’s gamers who are adults that like to play easy games. Please actually take your time and read before responding. The True Gamer Sorry. I’m typing in an iPad and it lags sometimes…I meant to say Mario games haven’t been made for children. I seemed to have not added the “n’t”. 00EpicGamer00 Oh, that’s okay. I’m typing on an IPad too. Thanks for the clearification. 🙂 FutureFox Merged accounts. Jonatan I hope Nintendo fixes the notification system, but I really doubt it. Marcus Navarro Bigger issues are abound. It can wait. Luis Carlos Pando If all of this is true will my Wii U automatically update itself if I have the Standby Functions enabled? Marcus Navarro If its connection is decent and it’s not unplugged(you turn it on then off without cutting off its power) then yes. I think. Mercurio2054 i hope that update will be at night Justagamer Meh Ismael Ototo It makes sense, since tomorrow a Nintendo Direct is being released. It might finish with the common: “… and it will be available as soon as this transmission ends”. I love you, Iwata. leo yeah … my wiiu freezes too :/ David BF4 beta starts tomorrow. Once i have game then switch on console and begin update to downloading it then my pants begin ready to play as Toon Link!!!! 😀 Pikachief I just want to be able to turn off the gamepad screen when its not needed like when I play virtual console games. It’s very distracting. PLEASE D: That being said, I’m excited to play my wii virtual console games off screen. I really hope I can use the gamepad for controls on the wii virtual console and any wii games that support the VC controller too! And my second playthrough of SS since it doesnt really need the sensor bar. MetroidZero Well you can’t turn off the gamepad, but you can turn off the display. Wii U Home Button > Wii U Gamepad > Display Off EDIT: My brother was playing WWHD and used the Pro Controller for his basic movement, and he had the Gamepad as his item and map screen. It’s kinda cool 😛 Pikachief Yea I just got pikmin 3 today and using the wiimote for controls and the gamepad for the map screen is awesome 🙂 About the Display Off thing, when I press any buttons the display turns back on :/ And I don’t have a Pro Controller so the display off thing is pointless for me until I can keep it off while still pressing buttons. Zuxs13 ok took me 38 min to down load it, then another 16 mins for it to load to the system. Looks like the DL stuff from Nintendo is “SpotPass” items. Ryan House I have 4.0.0 U installed Nigga http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xS7Tb9iGxus This is legit! Y’all need this system update now!
