This week is a big one for Nintendo, with Mario Kart 8 racing into the hearts of fans everywhere tomorrow, May 30. Of course it’s the biggest release of the year so far, so we expect fans will be snatching this one up for days to come. Aside from Mario Kart 8 however, there are a few more titles that are coming to both the Nintendo 3DS and the Wii U that might be of interest to you. Here’s a look at them.

Ittle Dew came out at the wrong time…haha but it’s on my wish list anyways…it’ll have to wait for next week

    • Yeah they couldn’t have picked a worst week to release in. I’m sure Nintendo chose which is sad for the developers, as it’s a really great puzzle game that’s sort of a parody of the Legend of Zelda series. I enjoyed it.

      • JB

Hmmm… I love a good ol puzzle game! Just saw the trailer. At 10 bucks, that’s not bad at all. I think I’ll just make an impulse buy.

        • You won’t regret it. The game is kinda short in terms of puzzles, but considering it’s only $10 I don’t feel cheated. There’s a good 4 hours there at least.

      • darkcreap

Yep, really sad. It will be coming to Europe in a couple of weeks. In any case, I have a long list of pending games, Child of Light among them. I will add it to my “Favourite” list to remember to download it. I liked the Zelda-esque looks of Ittle Dew.

      • Saul Rivera

With the purchase of Mario Kart and the free game Pikmin…I ended up with 10 dollars from the digital promotion offer…so got Ittle Dew with it…that’s 3 games for the price of one!

  • Denvy

Was sorta hoping the original Super Mario Kart would be made available on the US Wii U VC. Just makes sense to me.

    • darkcreap

Hasn’t it arrived to the WiiU VC in the US yet? So strange, it came to Europe weeks ago.

      • Denvy

Nope, Europe got it and we didn’t. I’m itching to pay my upgrade fee so I can actually play it. I don’t want to go buy Wii classic controllers to play in Wii mode.

      • Rich Garriques

        • me

          you like caps a lot!

          • Robinpreet Sidhu

            Ha, and you don’t!

        • darkcreap

Don’t worry, you surely will get yours. Nintendo likes money too.

    • Raptok

Us Europeans also got The Minish Cap… which I’m playing through at the moment…

  • Miguel Angel Barrueta Hernánde

For the MK8 free game, wasnt it New super mario bros U instead of the wonderful 101?

    • Miguel Angel Barrueta Hernánde

      for the US of course…

      • Vegeta937

Yes, for the US: Legend of Zelda Wind Waker HD, Pikmin 3, New Super Mario Bros. U, or Wii Party U.

        • Capt. Smoker

I’m picking up WWHD ^^ got to

        • Daniel Brown

Unfortunately I already own all of those except for Wii Party U. >.>

          • nintendope

Wii Party U is surprisingly good if you have a couple of Wii remotes (even the old ones work on this one). Gather your friends, buy some beers and let the war begin!

          • Zach Cruz

I am in the same boat as you… oh well cant complain about a free game.

    • palomino blue

Yeah it was for the US. I was a little excited to see W101 on that list at first because I’ve been wary of spending money on it.

      • Robinpreet Sidhu

The Wonderful 101 is fantastic, go buy it! Well after playing MK8 of course.

    • makkan

for us in sweden we can choose between nintendo land, nsmbU,
wonderful 101, game & wario, pikmin 3, zelda ww, sonic lost world,
mario & sonic at the olympic winter games 2014, wii party u and
      ultimate monster hunter 3

  • Ducked

Screw Mario Kart 8. I’ll be picking up Luv Me Buddies Wonderland on the eShop tomorrow!

    • Rich Garriques

i sincerely hope your joking lol. if so thats a great one.

    • Zach Cruz

This better be a joke! on a day like tomorrow with one of the biggest releases and you are buying that game! I and many others know what game is gonna be on everyones minds and televisions… needless to say I think we can agree we are all excited for
      Gravity Badgers

      • dfg

How are you excited for mario kart?
It’s already ruined by DLC… Fucking nintendo idiots…

        • But the DLC is FREE.

        • Rune the Red Panda

You are an idiot, the DLC is free dumbass.

        • Zach Cruz

Did you even read which game I was excited for ! whose the real idiot clearly I said I am excited to play Gravity Badgers!

      • Ducked

Of course it is. I’d be a pretty sick person if it wasn’t.

        • Zach Cruz

haha same, idk what gravity badgers even is… cant wait to get off work and play this game all weekend.

  • Ducked

I didn’t think Wonderful 101 was one of the free games you get when you redeem Mario Kart 8 on the eShop in the US? Its New Super Mario Bros U, Pikmin 3, Wind Waker HD, and Wii Party U.

  • Raptok

I’m getting Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate… go Europe!

  • Adrian

WAIT A SECOND? Where the hell is New Super Mario Bros U as a freebie option??? That’s what pushed me to pre-order MK8!!!

    • Wow, chill. I’m sure they forgot to mention it in the article.

      • Adrian

I was partially being dramatic as sarcasm. But even if I wasn’t, it’s a legitimate reason to be upset.

        • Lol okay. I didn’t mean to sound like a jerk. Just telling you to calm down. Anyways Happy Mario Kart release day!

    • Ducked

It is a freebie option. They listed Wonderful 101 instead by accident

  • Rinslowe

    About f#@$ing time!
    Sorry 😛

  • mac

    Wonderful 101

  • I feel sorry for the games going up against the big MK

    • Ducked

That’s the reason why we aren’t getting Watch Dogs until the Fall

      • Kobe

        NOW it makes sense

      • probably, but I think it would’ve done fine. People who want the game would get it anyways. And I mean, since they’re already at the store buying mario kart, why not pick up watch dogs too? That idea just never sat right with me…

        • Ducked

Well not everyone has $120 to throw around in a day. But they should have just delayed it a few weeks instead of a few months.

          • well no, but yeah. months is bad

  • Perfecto-Geek

Where is the darn results for the last Mario Kart contest? It ended 4 days ago…

  • Nostalgic_Chaos

Mario Kart 8 is the only game I’ll be needing to play.

  • disqus_QNIAqtNpHo

guys i have ittle dew on my tablet get it i promise u will like it it has challenging puzzles and cool gear it’s also a lot like tloz

  • JB

I wonder if MK8 will be available from midnight ET time for everyone or midnight according to each time zone? My primary address is in the Midwest and it seems like I was able to download SM3DW at 11PM last time….

    • greengecko007

That’s what I want answered too. I would assume that the logical thing to do would be release it as it becomes midnight in each timezone, but I’ve heard rumors of it going up at midnight Pacific time for all of the US, which would be stupid.

      • JB

It’s a big release for Nintendo, so I could see the case for them doing some sort of midnight rollout according to time zone. Though looking at the terms of the Mario Kart freebies it does have a date range from 12am ET on 5/31 to 11:59pm ET on 7/31 for what it’s worth. I think I’d lose my mind if I had to wait until 12PT! I did just take a look at my digital receipt for SM3DW and I definately bought it at 11pm CT so there’s hope yet!! 🙂

        • greengecko007

Haha, yeah. I’m fine with midnight ET for the entire US or rolling timezones, but midnight PT would be awful. Thanks for checking your recibt though, that puts me at ease a bit.

  • darkcreap

Oh, and they have changed the music of the eShop. And they have included a lot of recommendations for new users to promote their current back library. Good thing for the eShop.

  • InterTreble

Fantastic guys! Welcome to the next gen.

    • darkcreap

Hehehe. A bit fanboyish, but funny. Especially the rolling plant.

      • InterTreble

It is! 😀 Can’t wait to be back home today! 😉

  • MerryBlind .

Wait… to be eligible to the free game promotion with a Mario Kart 8 purchase, do you absolutely have to buy it in the next week and register it before the end of July? or do you have to buy it before the end of July and register it before the end of July too?

In short, is it a 1 WEEK promotion, or a 2 MONTHS promotion?

Please someone answer me. If it’s only for a week, I’ll put more pressure on my friends to buy the bundle NOW lollll.

    • JB

It’s a two month promotion. As long as you do both before the end of July you should be fine!

      • MerryBlind .

        Ok good thanks.

  • lonewolf

Wasn’t mario kart 8 for the eshop download only 49.99

    • Jason Wright

It’s £49.99 in the UK. Or about $82 at current exchange rate.

Screw you Nintendo. That’s more than it costs to buy the disk!

  • Mario Kart 8 is here to save the Wii U! (comic)

  • Andrew W Garttmeyer

    I CANT WAIT to play…
    KLONOA: Empire of Dreams
…wait, what?, nope, never heard of it and I dont care.

    • It’s a very highly regarded gba game. I’ve never played it but I know the reviews at the time were through the roof.

      • Andrew W Garttmeyer

ahh, no wonder I never heard of it, *inserts foot in mouth*. I just am always looking for my favorites…and never find ’em. :(.

  • condor87z

Mario Kart 8? Never heard of it.

  • Josh Dye

MK8 should bring me exactly to platinum elite status, will the free game give me any coins? If so, when should I redeem the free game for it to count for the next year?

    • Saul Rivera

Yeah it will give you coins too…and if you have the Deluxe Wii U…you’ll also end up with 2…5 dollar credits to redeem at the eShop..that’s a 3rd game for more Nintendo Club coins

      • Josh Dye

Cool, thx for info. I do have delux, downloading MK8 now, I’ll wait to redeem the free gamee

  • Alejandro Castillo

So hyped to play some mk8 and ww today. So glad I didn’t purchase ww

  • Neal Bailey

If I buy the game on the Wii-U eShop, how do I go about getting that free game?

    • RennanNT

      Probably too late, but…
      Create a Club Nintendo account.
Link your Wii U to it, at eshop, BEFORE buying (or you will lose the game).
      Buy MK8.
Access club Nintendo, log in, choose the game and get the game’s code.
Input it on eshop and download it.

      • Neal Bailey

Thanks for the reply! Luckily the terms were posted on the E-Shop so I did everything correctly and got a free copy of Zelda. I’m not sure my daughter quite understands how to play the Zelda game, but she is loving the Mario Kart!

        • RennanNT

          Thats great!
Don’t forget to take the surveys at club nintendo to get some classic games and redeem the $5 if you own a Wii U Deluxe (Black).
