A brand new system update for the Wii U has been released and is available for download. This 4.10 download includes, “further improvements to overall system stability” and “other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience.” The update is available in North America, Europe and Australia.

This update is likely in preparation for the summer update that president Satoru Iwata outlined in January. This Wii U firmware update will include a new fast start-up menu and will significantly improve the time it takes to start using software on the Wii U. Instead of booting into the Wii U main menu, users will be able to skip the home screen by booting directly into the software after selecting the appropriate Mii.

Currently there is no word on when this summer update will be released.

    • NintendoFan

It’s not, I downloaded it and it’s fine

      • Ultrasyd

Don’t take everything so seriously. See, it says “update” but … changes nothing 😀
Nah for real, it must be filled with the emulator for GBA games coming on Thursday.

Another addition I noticed is that in the internet browser, you can now post images from a game, like you you would on Miiverse, right to Facebook.

Don’t worry, it’s not a joke, just check your bookmarked page and you’ll see it.

    • Shy_Guy

Wow really? hmm..I have to check it out

        The bookmark is new.

        • LordiMcKill

For a person who logs onto his Wii U web browser every day, I can re-affirm that it’s a new bookmark.

    • Shota

      • paddle008

Nope, it wasn’t a bookmark before.

        • Shota

Can we have a dislike feature on Miiverse, and be able to reply to specific comments?

  • A SNES Day Off

I’m not seeing this new ‘fast start-up menu’… Are you sure this isn’t a feature for the summer update?

    • Christian Schoff

That’s what she meant but I can see why you are confused. She didn’t specify properly.

  • Donaald

Hopefully the summer update won’t become an early fall update like last time.

  • wiimenonowiiu

This would’ve been a perfect time to upload a prank to everyone… Shame on you Nintendo.

  • thedeciderU

these updates are fine, but why is everything going so slow? if this was my staff, i’d give them hell.

  • Spaniard0069

And Hulu continues to lock up my Wii U. How hard is it to fix a fucking app?

  • iamserious

Yeah the Wii U menu is way too slow. I hope that gets a really good fix.

  • MerryBlind .

I want to be able to play Wii games compatible with Classic/GC controllers, with the Wii U Pro Controller and GamePad. Also, I want a smoothing filter On/Off for both VC and Wii games.
    Make it happen Nintendo.

I want to be able to delete messages that I’ve read from the notification app.

  • Colton Kelsey

They should add a mute button on the remote. But they need to do some big shit to move units.
