On Nintendo’s official Super Smash Bros. website another teaser screenshot has been released, this time with Sakurai showing off the Pilotwings stage for Super Smash Bros. Wii U. Link and Samus are having a duel on the plane as it takes off, with Wuhu Island in the background. Sakurai’s message on Miiverse with the included screenshot was simply, “Takeoff!” local_offer Masahiro Sakurai Nintendo Super Smash Bros wii u stars Further Reading Nintendo loses patent appeal, ordered to pay Nintendo was brainstorming about Switch when JBeauregard Sweet! Those wings look a little small for so much bashing, though! Mercurio2054 is a fictitious game ETeach Really? I thought this was real life. Mercurio2054 never mind, my mistake… i misunderstood the @jbeauregard:disqus ‘s comment. i take it like: o man, those wings’re to small in comparition with the character. idiomatics things ETeach lol, no worries. Just joking around 🙂 JB Maybe once they are all the way up in the air, there will be other planes that they can jump back and forth on… That would be pretty awesome! Zorpix The characters seem kinda far away. Hope this was a view that only comes from a developer’s special camera angles. Nice shot though! JBeauregard I noticed that, and I also was curious about where the plane’s shadow was? Ashley King Lighting is often one of the last things implemented in games in terms of the development cycle. It’s not surprising to see a lack of it here since this is a dev screenshot. JBeauregard Never considered that. Good info so I don’t complain in the future lol Thank you! Vextrum I think that because the ground is actually the third stage from Pilotwings for the NES, the plane’s shadow isn’t supposed to be visible. John Smith No, i think you have to go in the sky while on the plane and that’s kind of a introduction of the level. Monomon Maybe it’s that angle because he showed a replay(like Mario Kart series)? Zombie Boy It’d be awesome if the levels moved around while you fought (zoomed in and out, spun around, the angles changed etc). I have the feeling this might just be the introduction to the level though, before the fight begins. Squid I feel like its gonna be an entrance to a stage Zorpix eh… doesnt look like an entrance though. Most stages dont have an entrance like that. zerooooo You’re probably new to smash… or atleast clueless enough to think that we can play smash at that angle. Come on you have ever took a cool screenshot in Brawl? Zorpix have you ever tried not being a dick? 😀 Magnus Eriksson It will look great on PS4 🙂 The Libyan A tad in denial, I see. Lusunup you seem to troll sometime not… quit….sure if your doing it now….. Zackary Bruley Zorpix, if you ever played SSBM for the GameCube, you will remember that when taking Screenshots, the camera was free moving with all sorts of angles and a zoom feature. I would not worrie about this at all. Zorpix well brawl did that too. I’m just sayin Keaton you are able to zoom out in ssb games during the pause screen. so im assuming that’s what this is SonicLucario Looks interesting enough cs_shane Why is Wii U Daily so late in reporting this? We have known about this stage since August 6th. (http://www.gameinformer.com/games/super_smash_bros/b/wii_u/archive/2013/08/06/pilotwings-map-confirmed-for-super-smash-bros.aspx) So the title should be “New screenshot for Pilotwings stage in Smash Bros for Wii U” Brandon Betlej Wtf is this? Is this a joke? Saleh Sbeiti No. therealruben1 Shouldnt it be on the 3DS JamesJose Pilotwings was originally for the SNES, a console; Therefore, it`s on the Wii U A_7 This stage will look stunning in HD! Waluigi My stage it’s going to be better thedeciderU so are some vc releases hints as to what to expect in the upcoming sb? Josiah Parsons Sweet! my question is if you fall off, do you get swept backwards? I’ve forgotten whether or not the F-Zero course in Brawl does that. Zorpix not really. it just damages you and you bounce off the road Sdudyoy It would be cool if the plane could fly you over to Wuhu island. Kevin Wickham so this must come from the 3ds game….. pilotwings resort…….. wii sports resort mr.Goodbar Nope, Wii U. Pilotwings was originally on the SNES console. Kevin Wickham then explain to me why wuhu island is in the background? wuhu island did not appear in the snes version Johny am i the only one who thinks that nintendo included this stage (or these kind of stages) JUST to promote their other less popular franchises ? because SSB has a huge fanbase, and maybe nintendo is using that to advertise their lesser franchises? im not saying it bothers me… but i just dont want that to hinder or get in the way to make a proper SSB game in ANY way… ETeach I actually kind of think it’s the reverse. Pilot Wings finally got a new game a couple of years ago, which led to a sort-of revitalization of the series. I’d imagine that’s the reason they’re including a stage from this franchise. Tim van Broekhoven I like it that you can see wuhu Island in the distance 😀 Boss Hoss OMG YOU CAN Tim van Broekhoven Uh yes? It was even said in the article… Christopher Westcott I’m sorry but this screenshot looks rather ugly. Mitch Hall Cool, it’s nice to see Pilotwings getting some love. It’s one of the more overlooked Nintendo series. Maybe now we’ll get a Wave Race stage too. MississaugaMaverick Cool pilotwings was the first game I ever got on snes this brings me back Starfoxguy what if the plane dropped you onto Wuhu Island mid-battle and you had to fight on the way down?
