Warner Bros. is bringing Scribblenauts Unlimited to the Wii U, and we have a ton more information about the game. The game was recently featured in Nintendo Power magazine (which will sadly be seizing publication later this year), which revealed some of the Wii U specific gameplay details. For example, the Wii U version will include graphical improvements such as new shaders, particle effects, water effects, and will be able to have more on-screen items than any other version of the game. We also get a confirmation that co-op will be available in the game, and that up to 4 players can play at the same time — one player using the GamePad, while the other 3 use a regular Wiimote controller.

Scribblenauts Unlimited Wii UScribblenauts Unlimited Wii U will feature 30 to 40 theme worlds, all populated by NPCs, with each world/level being fully explorable with multiple objectives. Not only that, NPCs will have quests of their own for you to complete and earn Starites. Players can use each world as a sandbox, and any items they create in the world will remain once they return. The game will feature an object editor that lets players create their own objects, and assign them values using the same tools that developers used. Finally, Scribblenauts Unlimited will have full Miiverse integration.

For more on the game, check out our Scribblenauts Unlimited page. The game will be a Wii U launch title, and will be released on the 3DS as well.

Wow this game and many others for the wii u will be good

  • Draco Breach

Yes. Sadly, the December issue will be the last issue of Nintendo Power Magazine.

With disheartening news out of the way, it’s time to move on to interesting and/or exciting game news.

Scribblenauts in general just seems neat. I haven’t played the previous games, but I am thinking of giving this one a go. The GamePad seems like such a natural evolution for this game.

Yes, I think the GamePad is a general evolution for a lot of game genres, but we’re talking about Scribblenauts Unlimited specifically.

i dont think the fact nintendo power is closing has any implications towards nintendo. here in the UK there is 3-4 different nintendo magazines.

but nintendo will do something , maybe they are just going all online with their stuff now. but they should still do a magazine . i am sure nintendo power must of sold quite a bit in USA .

maybe you will see an official nintendo magazine like we have here in UK.

      • Lord Carlisle

Does anyone know why they stopped making it?

        • Shankovich

IGN, 1up, gamespot, this website, etc.

          • Shankovich

Not that I have anything against this site, just saying. Any site that publishes news and rumors faster than a magazine could is to blame :p

          • Marq

Yeah, Nintendo Power has been nothing more than a glorified novelty for the past decade. It, like almost every other print publication, can’t compete with the faster, more accessible and free digital news medium. I started my journalism major in print, but quickly switched to broadcast because it was obvious that print was a sinking ship.

i did play the ds 1 and is awesome all the leves have insane replay value just 1 level can be beat a 100 way and still hide things like funny animations and those who say this is a kids game are going to be may have cute graphics but this is has hardcore has it gets

      • EvanescentHero

I’m really sad to see NP go. =(

But on topic, I thought the first game was really fun. I never played Super Scribblenauts, which allowed for adjectives to be added, but I think I’ll pick this one up. The item creation sounds really fun…

    • joe

Dude, Nintendo Power is going down?? Wow…they make so much cake on that magazine I’m sure….Gotta be a good reason for it….a real good reason…..too bad, it was a good magazine. Out for a long time as well….

      • Maverick-Hunter

Well in today’s world everything is digital, a day when paper is no longer what people use to get Info from. Could simply mean time to upgrade, I mean I’m sure a nintendo power magazine could become an app. Actually, I own marvel and dc apps that hold thousands of digital comic books. I predict the wii u, having a nintendo power app in the future *crosses fingers* my hope is not lost 😀

  • Dmonkeyman

this game actually seems pretty cool. I wonder how long those 30-40 worlds take

    • Macarony64

the leves wil go fast but they have hight replay value the word you used the first time will give you less points wen you use it again so you have to think new 1 to get a higher score .

  • Fresnokila

I remember having so much fun playing the first Scribblenauts game for the DS…just trying to come up with words..I especially liked the hydra for my missions haha..
Looking forward to play this version too!

    • Macarony64

  • SteampunkJedi

I loved the DS game. I’ll definitely pick this up.

  • Joesatmoes

i hav both ds games, but probably wont get the wii u version -just cuz the whole main concept, though awesome, gets boring quickly.

  • The_Beeshnu

Am i the only person buying this game?

  • Novum Magus

This will be one of the first Wii U games I get. I’ll more than likely pre-order it actually. I haven’t played any of the previous titles but after reading about it in Nintendo Power (R.I.P.) it seems like a ton of fun, and on top of that welcomes all sorts of creativity which is great!

  • u mad bro

how is Scribblenauts guys…is it fun and creative?

    • SteampunkJedi

It is exceptionally fun and creative. I was skeptical at first, but the Scribblenauts game I played for the DS was both very fun and creative.

  • Wii U Lover

I never got to use my nintendo power coupon that came with my 3ds :(:(:(
well maybe they will start another nintendo magazine 🙂
