The Wii U has already had several accessories available for it for some time, but that hasn’t stopped Nyko from showing their latest offering at CES 2013 this week in Las Vegas. The Charge Station U is a $34.99 charger station that takes the place of Nintendo’s dock and adds two additional charging slots for Wiimotes. The charging station comes with two rechargeable battery packs for both of these. The Pro Commander is pictured at left and is Nyko’s attempt at a Pro Controller. It changes up the analog stick configuration to match that of the Xbox 360 controller, which means it’s certainly more appealing for those who might be coming from Microsoft’s console. The other big difference is that the Pro Commander is priced at $34.99, which is $15 cheaper than Nintendo’s official Pro Controller. What do you think of these new accessories? Will you be getting the Pro Commander instead of the Pro Controller? local_offer Charging Dock Nintendo nyko Pro Commander wii u wii u controller stars Further Reading Confirmed: Breath of the Wild is the last Wii Switch vs Wii U game case size comparison Miyamoto dismisses the Wii U as a “nece 6 reasons to grab a Nintendo Switch before March 6 reasons to skip the Nintendo Switch for now Nintendo Switch Amazon Pre-Order Bravyoura Finally the pro pads analogue sticks are far to loose, trading in my pro pad as soon as nyko release their pad in the UK. Johny hmm i have mixed feeling whether i should get the nintendos pro controller or Nykos… i love the Nintendos Analogue placement, but this one is quite cheaper Mauricio Guaura Most third party controllers tend to suck, mind you. CTRAINGAMER I bought a Yobo Gamecube controller once and that same day the left joystick decided to stop working. That was the only issue I’v had with third party controllers. (Big issue though) CTRAINGAMER I kinda wanna get the Nintendo one and this on but I feel like that will some how mess up my gaming. Darn them joysticks.I’ll just get both and pick my favorite. tronic307 Alright, Nyko, release this stuff already, especially the Wii U PowerPak. I am just about fed up with charging while playing on the allegedly wireless GamePad. Nintendo designed the Wii U Gamepad to accept a larger battery, and then…nothing. DanUnreal Thanks for letting me know about the Powerpack. I’m definitely looking forward to getting it! DemonRoach Cheaper propads please. 50$ is just way too much for a 2nd player. uPadWatcher I DEFINITELY want the Charge Station U!!!!!! Srpg2ishere I know right?! 😀 Noteak guys I pretty much already have the charge station it’s kind of a rip off of a charging station put out by energizer when the wii u first came out it is the exact same thing but energizer had it out in 2012 if you don’t believe me check the wii u accessories spot at Walmart that is where I got mine. Lance Berlin Noticing in the picture that Nyko’s controller also has A and B buttons swapped. Is this a functional difference as well or just in the labeling? Edit: Figured it out. The button swap is functional because all they did for the commander pro was take their existing gamepad pro for android and change the bluetooth protocol to be recognized by wii u systems. Very lazy but at least this new release is actually cheaper than the MSRP of their android controller. CTRAINGAMER There swapped to look and feel like an XBOX360 controller. It’s really just a 360 controller for Wii U. Although it looks more like a mix of an xbox controller and a gamecube controller. I’ll be sure to pick one of those up. Srpg2ishere The pro commander looks nice, but the way the handles curve in may kinda get annoying to me.. Also the A and B buttons are switched for some reason. I like nyko stuff, but I dunno if I can go for this. Nah I’ll stick with the real white pro controller. But after I get more Wiimotes then I’ll get the charge station. CTRAINGAMER I decided I’m getting both. Chris Chung is the pro controller allow to play wii games? Adam Porter been playing the wind waker lately and must say i prefer the gamecube controller over all other conventional controllers, i think the wiimote and nun-chuck come a close second(but they aren’t really conventional so??), i played hundreds of hours on MHtri and never cramped, or got tired holding my arms a certain way, just rested each hand on a knee and flicked the wiimote as needed, 10 times the controller of the classic for MHtri Death47 Dude I know right? TrueWiiMaster I’ll probably end up getting the official Pro remote instead of this one, but the battery that’s triple the original for $25? Now that’s tempting. Genesect4ssb4 This will be the standard smash bros controller Zelly Jeffers Never been a fan of their products, but that controller has certainly piqued my interest. I’ve been thinking of getting the Pro Controller (when I pick up COD: Black Ops II) so I could kick my boyfriend’s ass. I dunno though… I’ll see how the reviews are when it hits Amazon. audie bowler you been thinking of pro pad to play fps on a wii remote console MAY I ASK WHY WOULD YOU EVEN CONSIDER DOING THAT I PUT THE BABYS FPS TOOL AWAY 7 YEARS AGO I FPS WITH THE CORRECT TOOL A WII REMOTE AFTER ALL YOU DONT HUNT FISH WITH A RIFLE OR USE A SPANNER TO SEE IN THE DARK OR USE A SCREWDRIVER TO LOOSEN BOLTS CORRECT TOOL CORRECT JOB GET A WII REMOTE AIMING WITH PLASTIC STICKS WENT FULL RETARD 7 YEARS AGO Zelly Jeffers So, what you’re saying is that COD: Black Ops II is Wii remote compatible? If so, then giddy up! Periods help, by the way. I’m not even saying that as a grammar Nazi. They’re just incredibly useful to readers. I had to read the above three times to ‘get it’. Chris W http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZoE2uoFF26w Zelly Jeffers Ooh! Thank you for this! Chris Doberz BLACK OPS 2, OR ANY FPS WITH THE WII REMOTE SUCKS. I KNOW, I USED TO PLAY THAT WAY ON THE ORIGINAL WII. SORRY I HAVE TO YELL, BUT MY CAPS LOCKS IS BROKEN LIKE YOURS IS. CTRAINGAMER YAH! IT TOTALY SUCKS ASS…in your opinion asshole. Paul Tanner gotta agree as my arms started to ach after 20 minutes gameplay with it but the wii u is different and better audie bowler i have a rotating round charging stand that spins so you can get to each controller it charges 2 wii remotes 1 gamepad and 1 pro pad at the same time all with a light so you know wen charged i have a additional wii remote charge station also ,but theres no standby mode on wiiu so that only works now switched on ,i got my charging dock at GAME uk its there model audie bowler feloow wiiu fans aiming with sonys idia of camera aim control A PLASTIC STICK please stop shaming us real gamers please stop its embarasing like finding your mom on a street courner uPadWatcher Real gamers don’t bitch and complain. Chris Doberz So an Xbox controller, and a slightly different version of the charging docks you can already get on Ebay? Cool…. PKUltima An6body else think that the Nyko controller looks hideous? Matt Wittke i actually like it except for the grips >.< Sydney Ultrasyd The Pro Commander looks good, but i”m not fond of 3rd party controllers. Here the only one I bought that lasted is a Wiimote – on Gamecube and other consoles, all the pads I bought died more or less quickly, while Nintendo is always reliable and solid as rock … TheLast Dat Nyko D-pad… D: *vomits* Adam Wakins sweet Bailey Earley I would get the Pro Commander if it had the Nintendo layout. I like the stick layout, but B should always be on the bottom -.- Dacoda Spalla Oh god…didn’t even notice the button layout….absolutely not getting it now. nicolascy32 Does the Nyko controller have Analog Shoulder buttons ? The Nintendo original Pro controller does not have analog shoulder buttons which is a huge mistake for racing games and backward emulating gamecube games…I hope someone addresses this.
