For fans of NES Remix, which released late last year, you’ll be happy to know that Nintendo is continuing the twisted NES theme with a Volume 2 release. This volume will feature brand new minigames of new challenges from some of your favorite NES games, including The Legend of Zelda II, Kirby’s Adventure, and Super Mario Bros. 3.

In addition to featuring all new games and challenges, this remix will include a full version of Super Luigi Bros., where the player takes control of Luigi and moves from right-to-left instead of left-to-right. In addition, this version includes the full game that was included in Super Mario Bros., so you can beat the game as Luigi.

The game will be releasing on Wii U on April 25, probably for the same price point as the original NES Remix. Do you want to see more of these Remix volumes as time goes on? Perhaps an SNES Remix soon? Let us know in the comments.

I hope there is a discount for people who bought the first one.

    • Fred

Plausable. Hey are you the Youtube guy?

      • TheWiiviewer

        Yes. Thanks for watching. 🙂

        • Fred

No problem I have the easy job. Thank-you for making all those video reviews for Wii and Wii U games I’ve found many of them helpful/insightful.
Any Chance I can talk you into doing Castle Storm or Coaster Crazy Deluxe on Wii U next?

    • rp17

First reaction: I really want this!!!! Wait… I’m not forking out another $15, if that’s what you want!

I want it to be an update or DLC or something. Just not another $15 game! (If not I will have to reluctantly get it anyway)

      • GuardiansFan

i wasnt going to bother after having purchased the first one but the fact that it includes super luigi bros which at least is a full game (based on an existing one sure but with something new) I will bite

    • TaintedXGamer

To Add the no.2 to the first one? i hope so! I just got suckered into getting nes remix yesterday and i already got suckered into skylanders: swap force as well….. ,-, Damnit. my wallet is already crying….. shhh shhh don’t cry!

  • David Trail

Looking forward to this. Multiplayer and online modes please Nintendo?

    • Fred

      double thumbs up!

  • RyuNoHadouken

Yeah, thanks Nintendo for another wack direct!!!!

  • Yen

High potential of SNES Remix as well hopefully!

  • Jon

the only new thing announce for the Wii U, though it was pretty well thought that something like this was going to happen.

  • Fred

I really enjoyed NES Remix; this looks better!

  • Will the3rd

Cool. For training new workers, developers, even cooler. As an announcement when we were praying for a Metroid, Zelda, F-Zero or StarFox, “indie game”, with all the bad connotation of that.

  • Jason

When I was watching the stream I thought he was going to announce SNES Remix, but NES Remix 2 is also good. (~:

    • hahahero

I thought the same thing. And yes! I am also good with this title. I really enjoyed the first one, still playing it from time to time. Way more replay value than I originally anticipated.

  • Skelterz

oooo i know says iwata lets hold back on zelda u today and announce prehistoric levels of games everyone is emulating as we speak yeah yeah that should work!!

  • Nathan C.

    How much? 😛

  • ZeldaFan83

I gotta say I loved the first one but was disappointed at the lack of great NES titles and now there’s NES Remix 2 with a great list of games. Zelda II, Metroid, Super Mario 2 & 3, etc. OMG I am so getting this. Do you think this was announced pretty quick after the 1st one came out not too long ago but I say the sooner the better. Wii U needs more frequent releases like this.

    • Jose David Castro Chacon

That means the 1st one got a very good support from the people pretty sure if people keeps giving away their money (mine too) in this kind of gems we will see better and better releases and hoping an online challenge soon 😉

  • MachoMadness

I like the first one, but with more volumes theres a hope for a retail release.

  • GuardiansFan

i would prefer these games released with new levels but with the classic graphics over this…one game at a time 10.00 and i would bite more than i should. Looking forward to the super luigi bros game included in there though…

  • Jon Neale

I can’t stand NES games (other than zelda) this just does not appeal. Bring on SNES, N64 or GameCube Remix!

  • Adam Fox

People complain about the $15 price…but in reality, its not all that bad…. in fact, say Nintendo started releasing these quarterly for a couple years….$15 x 4 = $60….or the price of a retail game…..entertainment year round…..NES Remix is one of those games you play, put down and come back to….try to beat your old record, try to get all three stars or all three rainbow stars….etc…..its not one of those 60 hour games where you play and beat it once and end up selling it for 1/4th what you paid for it…..(which 1/4th of $60 is $15)….

    • CharlesAnderson

People complaining about the price are either children or extreme cheap skates. It’s a new experience and developers have to spend time polishing up the old stuff to make it new again, challenging and a blast to play. $15 is a value.

  • Rick Valenta

I really can’t stand borders in a game. If it was closer to full screen or full screen I would go for it. In the meantime I have all these games for my NES…

    • Prizm

It looks pretty close to full screen….maybe 90%. If you’re talking about actual widescreen, well that’s not gonna happen unless they completely reprogram these old games from scratch. That’s not usually financially viable.
