NFS Wii UNeed For Speed Most Wanted U is one of the few racing games coming out on the Wii U (scheduled for release next week). The game was originally released last year on current generation platforms, and subsequently received some DLC. EA and developer Criterion have included that DLC on the Wii U version of Need For Speed Most Wanted, however, there won’t be any future DLC on the Wii U.

The bad news comes form developer Alex Ward at Criterion Games, who explained on Twitter that there are no plans to bring future DLC packs to the Wii U version of the game. Developers and publishers have surprisingly skipped the Wii U when it comes to additional game content in the form of DLC.

As for the Need For Speed Most Wanted U DLC, the game has received a bunch of car packs over the past few months, and more are planned in the future. But only on the PS3 and Xbox 360.

Be sure to check out the first Need For Speed Most Wanted U trailer as well.

  • RyuNoHadouken

that sux…i mean, how hard is it to make DLC available for all platforms?

    • dylanbob121

no,its just that EA hates nintendo and nintendo hates EA now…

    • Revolution5268

its not hard its just they don’t want to, same with COD.

  • AAAkabob

EA really doesn’t want money from Nintendo.

Not buying this game, or any game from EA except for BF4 only if it comes for Wii U.

    • like i said nintendo just doesnt seem to get the goods theyed make high money aking mario and zleda games and putting them on the other consoles as well i love nintendo but ps4 here i come wiiu i wont for get U

      • uPadWatcher

Derek… GROW UP! Why the hell are you at Wii U Daily while simultaneously a hypocritical Nintendo hater?

      • NkoSekirei

ur an @$$ u dont get it nintendo said no to origin and EA is being butthurt about it they need to grow up and so do u troll

      • Geez I’ve seen bad spelling and mine isn’t all that great either. Even though English is not my native language, I still feel bad when I make massive spelling errors, but you have posted two comments in this article, I’ll skip the hypocricy and the negative twist (as I too as fan am pretty dissapointed in WiiU) but your comments I really struggle to make out what you say, don’t tell me that is the best you can do…

If it is you just aswell might stop commenting all together.

      • brian hammerman

you suck i love my Wii u so ea suck, but i will say one thing nintendo need to make good with third arty soon.

      • bizzy gie

Pick up a freaking dictionary. Your spelling is atrocious.

    • Joel

I think it’s because EA has a grudge against Nintendo because they won’t allow them to us Origin.

    • dylanbob121

NFSMW will be my last EA game

  • That totally sucks!!!!!

  • Levi Johansen

That’s stupid, when they are PLANNING to make more DLC, they should make it for Wii U aswell.

If they didn’t plan any more DLC, then it’d be fine – if they suddenly decided to make some and it wouldn’t be for Wii U, it’d be understandable.

    • Levi Johansen

Good thing all the DLC that are already made will be on it though – that’s awesome!

  • Tobias Naustdal

hmm… their is a lot of bad news on wii u daily…

    • NkoSekirei

i think EA is still bitching cause they couldnt get their origin on the wii u so screw u EA i hope u guys suffer some kind of loss on ur stocks

      • DragonSilths

Got it backwards man. EA wanted to take the Nintendo Network from Nintendo and let Origin absorb it. So it would be fully EA’s not Nintendos anymore.

        • Zorlac79

That’s what made it soooooo funny when EA’s network has been crashing and not letting people play the game they paid good money for since they require it to be online all the time! Simcity has been a flop for them so far and I hope the rest flops until they eventually flop in a belly up fashion!

    • skullkid1337

Would you pay $5 to drive one extra car? not having dlc on a racing game is better, you don’t have to worry about people online having the best cars and you having to pay to get them. Makes the game more balanced.

      • TheBoldman67

Well the DLCs all offer 6 cars each, and one of them is an extra place to drive in, I think it was an airport, but not having DLC is alright. I mean, at least they gave us answer unlike Treyarch with BO2, and besides, they’ve stated that future NFS Wii U games will get DLC like other consoles.

    • Coval83

agree… but i belive in wii u… price drop and proper 1st party games… e3 i think will blow our minds…

    • ejownz6

Wii U news is bad news. The console is doing horrible and third party support is dying.

I already have a Wii U, got it discounted. I’ll keep mine for the exclusives, but at this point there is no reason to buy it for third party games, especially any online games since no one is online to play with.

Once Pikmin 3 and Windwaker out, I’ll be happy. But I can’t really blame others for having no interest in the Wii U.

IF this isn’t Nintendo’s last home console, I’ll be shocked.

      • dylanbob121

You don’t need third party for the Wii U.All you need is the 1st party to keep it running.Well,at least for Nintendo. haven’t seen a lot of 1st party games from Microsoft and Sony.

        • sithWiiU

Really? Sony has a lot. Just because they don’t rehash them for 20 years does not mean they’re not there.

          • dylanbob121

            like what?

          • Elem187

Sony only has boring shooter dudebro games… no thanks.

      • DragonSilths

3rd Party support is dieing??? It hasnt even gotten started yet freaking idiot. Wait till the Wii U 3rd Party Nintendo Direct that will rip open alot of these fanboys eyes.

No reason to buy a Wii U for 3rd party??? WHO THE FUCK buys a NINTENDO system for 3rd party games? Idiots thats who.

Nobody is online??? Mass Effect 3, AC3, COD BO2, Sonic Racing, and MH3U (Japan), are all full of online people. Starting Tuesday alot of people will be online on MH3U.

Nintendo’s last console? Thats what they said about the gamecube, thats what they said about Wii. NINTENDO ISNT GOING ANYWHERE. Microsoft and Sony are closer to going 3rd party only then Nintendo. Nintendo has more money then both Sony and Microsofts gaming divisions combined. Meaning obviously Nintendo IS successful. Nintendo could not make a single penny ANYMORE FOR THE REST OF TIME. And lose $257 million every year Nintendo will last till 2052, then selling stocks, technology, buildings they will last till 2075. Nintendo has been around for 124 years. They will outlast EVERYONE that is fact.

If anything SONY wont be around much longer. PS4 seems to be a repeat of the PS3’S mistakes but will Sony recover at all this time? Nope. Microsoft wont be in gaming much longer. After the 720 I could see them leaving. People dont want to pay for online, and lack of exclusives on the Xbox wont get them anywhere. Halo 5 and 6 will be on the 720. Then what? Halo 7, 8, 9? Gears of War 4,5,6?

Point is people are fucking stupid these days. Read this.

        • TheBoldman67

Plus, I also read that Wii U sold more than the two other consoles in the first 4 months of their launch, so if anything we’re doing better than they did.

          • DragonSilths

Wii U sold more in its first 6 weeks then the PS3 and Xbox 360 combined. Took them 4 months to reach what Wii U did in 6 weeks.

        • sithWiiU

So MS can’t make 9 Haloes but Nintendo can make 20 Marios & 15 Zeldas? The only reason why they sell well is because of nostalgia. If Mario & Zelda were a brand new IP that released amongst Last of Us, Injustice, Halo 4, Mass Effect, & Sly 4, it would not sell nearly as much as they do now.

          • Elem187

No, they sell well because they are some of the most well made games available.
            Nintendo AAA > Sony/Microsoft AAA
Dudebro games on the dudebro360 and dudebrostation are some of the most mind numbingly boring games ever released… are you not getting sick of shooting people?

Oh, Go watch porn or something. Just get out of here with your stupidity…Yah dunce.

        • Ben Kapferer

          Buyers remorse much?

      • Elem187

Monster hunter 3, ZombiU, Need For Speed MW (PC Textures!!)
Plenty of third party support… not bad for a new console…. I remember the launch of PS3, god what a mistake buying that one at launch was… there was only one game worth owning at launch: COD. the rest were crap. It took years before the PS3 was worth owning… I wont make that mistake again with the PS4. I think i’ll go with a DX12 capable PC at the end of the year to play multiplats and PC exclusives.
        PC Exclusives > PS4

    • Nathaniel Lopez

I agree. I predict Next month will be a better on, in terms of Wii U news after sales have skyrocketed due to MH3U, That lego game, and NFS:MW. I’m sure that’ll catch some news and then developers are going to be like…”Oh yeah, did we say we weren’t supporting Wii U, no no…you misunderstood. We meant we weren’t able to support it at the time, due to the amount of resources we were putting on our other games, but, now that we have freed of some of those limitations, we are happy to announce a game in the works for Nintendo’s new console”. Well, hopefully… that’s what happens.

      • sithWiiU

Do you people really think a niche game like MH will sell great here in the US? Honestly, do you believe that? Persona Golden helped the Vita so much in Japan, in the US though, no where near as well. Do you really think that Lego U wil sell loads of consoles to people who do not own a Wii U? Do you think a port of a game that came out 5 months ago is going to make people buy a Wii U? You all amaze me.

        • DragonSilths

Persona Gold failed in North America cause its a SONY game. Junk otherwise.

Go on youtube, forums, gaming tournaments Monster Hunter is highly wanted in North America. Lego City will sell some system not as much as MH3U though, 7 of my friends are getting a Wii U on Tuesday just for MH3U and Lego City lol.

Need For Speed Most Wanted U will be bought, I am buying it on Tuesday when I get MH3U also. Its the superior version sorry if Nintendo fans have the patience to wait for quality. If it came out on Wii U months ago then oh great all 3 versions are shit.

          Now fuck off.

          • sithWiiU

You either have anger issues or maturity issues. You resort to cussing & insults to get your points across instead of doing it in a civilized manner. 1st off, Persona Golden was a fail because it was Sony? So if PG was owned by Nintendo, it wouldn’t be a fail? That’s ignorance, really bad ignorance too.I could do that too. Mario is Nintendo, so it’s junk.

I highly doubt MHU is that sought for, & if it is, I am pretty sure most have already purchased a Wii U before this week, heck, before March.

So I have no patience because I did not wait for a game to release on a console I do not own? Lol. & you’re buying a copy, good for you, still is not a system seller though. You already own the system, you did not purchase a Wii U just to play NFS. Again, MH is a niche game in the US, sad fact but true. Lego City is, at its core, simply another Lego game without a franchise painted over it, & NFS has been out for awhile now. Those games are NOT system sellers.

          • Gregory Edcius

maybe not in your book but there are people who were waiting for these games and monster hunter is a system seller.
people buy a console or handheld solely for that game and enough waited for this.
Don’t talk like you know the industry and you know what others are thinking your starting to sound like Pachter

        • Nathaniel Lopez

I think it’ll at least sell moderately well along with Lego City Undercover, NFS:MW, I’m not so sure about I think it’ll do okay, but I meant that I think it’ll skyrockect Wii U Sales. Monster Hunter is becoming bigger and much known here in the States, I also said I predicted and that I hope that, that will happen, not that it it will for sure. Seeing as how there haven’t been many games being released, it’s a fair assumption that’s whats going to happen.

      • yes you are right games that will be comeing in 5 years -_- then oh wait…. awe we stopped it from comeing on the wii u for a better console ๐Ÿ™‚ ty

        • Nathaniel Lopez

What constitutes a consoles as being better than the other?

          • WiiUltra

          • Nathaniel Lopez

I was expecting to read something more along the lines of “CPU/Ram and visuals”. Regardless, just wanted to know what others were going to say.

          • WiiUltra

Haha I’m sorry, my answer was very simple.

          • Nathaniel Lopez

It’s all good, it might have just been one word, but it’s straight to the point without having to needlessly explain itself.

    • Jeffery02

Well slow news is bad news in and of itself. Nintendo seems to be really quiet overall. I’m hoping that this means that they are preparing something big for e3. Regardless though, I think I will stay a Nintendo fan until either they end or I do,

    • val berger

With Mass Effect, this was really really bad news, but with NFS it’s not really. It’s not nice that they just give a f*ck about Nintendofans, but in the end, additional cars don’t really make the game. I got it and it’s good like it is and it’s gonna be absolutely amazing, without the DLC. If there’d be a DLC with additional racingtracks, that would be really bad. The only real bad thing is the essence of the news, that again something won’t be available for WiiU players.

    • Gregory Edcius

they have wiiudaily and ps4daily why do you think only bad news is released here.
monster hunter ultimate gets a 9 you don’t see that.
Lego city undercover gets 8 and 9 the average on metacritic is 7.9 you don’t hear that.
for people who are interested this is the real twitter comment he never said it wasn’t coming

  • SYates

This comes as no surprise to me. Not that it bothers me though – I had no intention of buying ANYTHING from EA, let alone DLC.

  • Gabe Hoffman

Guys he said no plans at PRESENT. Ward also said if the game sells good enough then they might make the DLC for Wii U

  • Nintedward

It”s still the definitive version of the game ๐Ÿ™‚ Can’t wait for it. I KNOW this is EA being douchebags , I bet criterion want to bring the DLC to the console.

Why is it so hard for these companies to bring some DLC ? Ubisoft had absoloutly no problem bringing Tyranny of king washington to AC3 and the Battle hardened pack and the other thing.

Anyway , the Wiiu version of NFSMW is still better than PS3 and 360 version. Can’t wait to race off screen play style ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Colin Kells-Murphy

I would be lifting a middle finger right now at EA! I bought this edition of Need for Speed Most Wanted because I wanted another racing game for the Wii U and I am a fan of the series. I am still going to play the Wii U edition and love it for sure cause I do feel this is going to be the best version, but you would be making more money if you were to have DLC on the Wii U. You are gradually decreasing my likelihood of buying games from you. From the situation with the SimCity launch to this, its just sickening me. I don’t know what to say…

    • DragonSilths

Paying for DLC is stupid anyway.

      • Colin Kells-Murphy

The concept of paying for DLC is stupid (unless it is well-timed expansion packs), I know, but I am one of those people who like to have all the content in his disposal, even if it requires extra money out of my pocket, which does kind of suck. Having said that, if the DLC is just extra cars and/or tracks, then yeah it would be pointless, but if the DLC is actually worthy content like an expansion to the story with more tracks and cars, then that would be a little worrisome. It just depends on what it is.

        • skullkid1337

the dlc is extra cars and mabye a couple extra tracks… this is EA we’re talking about…

          • Colin Kells-Murphy

and that is true. unfortunately, there will be no such expansion that I am thinking of ๐Ÿ™

          • skullkid1337

Yea, wish there was but EA is horrible at doing stuff like that. I’m half tempted to not buy it just because EA is publishing it, but criterion did put a lot of effort and time into it.

          • NintendoNoob

Nintendo makes the best DLC (Probably) I mean the NSMBU DLC coming out for Luigi will be a whole new game! That’s some really good DLC

          • DragonSilths

Nintendo may be late to the party when it comes to DLC but its cause they knew it was stupid, however they have started doing it and doing it the RIGHT way. Imagine the 3D Mario Game getting DLC like NSMBU lol crazy.

          • sithWiiU

Nintendo is not the 1st to do DLC correctly, & if you do think they are, then you’re a fanboy.

          • DragonSilths

I mean out of Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft. The big 3. Some independent devs have done it right.

          • sithWiiU

You are a noob. Oblivion, Skyrim, inFamous, Mass Effect, & Halo 4 (Spartan Ops) all did DLC really well.

          • DragonSilths

Skyrim, fucking garbage. Dragons Dogma is better. Halo 4 Spartan Ops SUCKS. Yah lets play the same fucking levels 4 times out of 5 levels just with different objectives.

          • Gregory Edcius

don’t know about halo but those other games should have had that content on disc it were just ripped parts of the game

    • dylanbob121

You make a really good point.BUT It is EA AND Nintendo that can’t cooperate.I just wouldn’t just blame it on EA.

      • Colin Kells-Murphy

That is true as well cause Nintendo and EA both have not been cooperating well, all cause of that Origin fiasco. I am disappointed with that, cause I don’t understand why EA just doesn’t make an Origin app on the Wii U like Ubisoft did with Uplay. I bet Nintendo would have easily allowed that as well and would have rejuvenated the bond between EA and Nintendo. I also went a little in depth with EA as a whole such as the mentioned SimCity launch.

        • dylanbob121

Well,EA makes gory FPS,and nintendo makes cute yellow rats and blue turtles gently touching each other… Odds and evens I guess…

          • [000]

Cute yellow rats and blue turtles gently touching each other? You are mistaken. They are enslaved by teenagers and children and forced to fight each other to an inch of their lives for money. It’s kind of like cock fighting, only, when the Pokemon passes out, after the loser pays up, it’s taken to a Pokemon center to be revived. In the gory shooters, at least there are quick and easy deaths, and usually a good reason for killing.

    • sithWiiU

      Best version? Lol!

  • blacksierra

    sooo … ????

          k thanks ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • thedeciderU

Why the hell release this game with better everything and then not further snag a customer on quality DLC? When will we get a positive article? I read this site every day and it’s all negative *almost* all the time (bad sales, bad forecast for the console, developers not bringing games to the console, the clock speed/hardware is slow, no DLC). It’s depressing. I may stay away for a while.

    • Randall Hellmer

Just spitballing here, but I’m guessing that there isn’t any positive news here because there isn’t any positive news to be had. Check back in a month, and there MIGHT be something to be happy about.

  • Hm, nothing that would suprise me. Not going to buy this anyway. Lack of money means lack of games, so I’m going to pick only interesting ones like Bayonetta 2, Rayman Legends, AC4 and other ones. EA lack needs of improving Wii U games they created so why bother buying them. But I must admit, this game looks really good by graphic standarts.

  • ConCity Soldier

This article is misleading. Criterion already said that the Wii U version will get all the current released DLC’s on disc. As far as future DLC’s…They haven’t even announced any 360/PS3 DLC’s either.

    • sithWiiU

Well…you are a football fan, so your silly thoughts makes sense.

  • Zombie_Andrew

Makes sense, if Wii U owners can prove that this game is worth selling DLC by buying it, I’m sure DLC will come to the console *shrugs*

  • Clairvius

Not only are you hurting Nintendo but your hurting yourself EA your screwing yourself out of sales and potential new fans

  • The wiiu is a wonderful game console one of my favorites in years I knew out the gate it wouldn’t have all the games ps3 and 360 are getting and its honestly not that big of a deal . The 3ds had a slow start form some of the same reasons no games !! But when the software hit it turned around the price drop helped but Nintendo is not going anywhere anytime idk why people want them to fail they are the biggest risk takers in gaming so chill give them time I’m sure march of next year it won’t be the same story. People looking at the wiiu because they have the more unique way to play. The ps4 is cool and I will have both but I’m more excited about the future Nintendo is bring gamers thean sony right now.

  • And please watch that video I postedwiiu gamers hope you enjoy it.

  • Ray01x

    I blame EA……

  • DragonSilths

EA is behind that decision lol.

  • NintendoNoob

How about shipping the game with everything on it? No DLC packs, no premium, no new cars. Just one version of the same game for everyone

  • feed me you dont realize by giving me attention i win XD

    • uPadWatcher

      Feed DEEZ NUTS!

    • dylanbob121

  • Revolution5268

then i won’t buy it, this bullshit with dlc needs to stop.

    • skullkid1337

dlc in any EA game is shit, i don’t know why you get all worked up. It’ll probable be about $3 just to drive a different car. Do you think anyone who has a Nintendo console would pay just to drive a differnt car? it also makes online more balanced

      • Revolution5268

This game is last years game, it should either be included in the game or be supported. Also these 3rd parties are really pissing me off with the way they treat nintendo fans.
Watch as the game does not sell as expected and EA will find another excuse to say “this is why we can’t sell games on nintendo” and not just this company all 3rd party.

        • Nathaniel Lopez

I agree, EA is holding a pretty bad grudge with Nintendo, but, to assume that ALL 3rd party developers will do the same is false. Some have praised the Wii U and have games either in development now or have said that they plan on making one in the near future. The Nintendo E-Shop has also been hailed as a indie games haven, so we know it’s getting some support, it’s just getting an unjust amount of hate.

  • Superstick98

So not only do you not release games for us, but you don’t include dlc for the games we already have? *Adds EA to list of retarted companies*

    • sithWiiU

Wow…don’t go calling people names now, when you yourself can not spell.

      • Superstick98

I think you’re responding to the wrong person sir. There is nothing wrong with my grammar. You should really re-read the comment. I’ve gotten over this DLC atrocity anyway.

  • angel

if enough sell their will be dlc

  • dylanbob121

It already came with DLC so i’m not too concerned.BUT,ever since EA had their “origin” program removed they have been super sour with Nintendo. It’s just pointless. You wanna make money EA?You better cooperate with Nintendo or you will just go out of business.I’m still getting this game, though.Looks like they put a lot of work into it
BTW,I don’t want any comments saying that “You were rong about da orimin progam because it was actuallly…”Please…just…no.

  • Rinslowe

Theres no bad news here… It still gets all the DLC to date, which makes it the most complete version of the game so far, with a polish and shine over the other two consoles…
Future DLC, so what? I for one hate unnecessary DLC, eating away at my hard earned dollars.
EA is doing us a favour IMO… Albeit, unwittingly, lol

  • EA sucks. I dont buy any EA games.

    • sithWiiU

      You’re missing out.

  • Guhtere

EA officially hates Nintendo. Nintendo shouldn’t accept this sh*t any longer and just shouldn’t allow EA to make games on their consoles.

  • I don’t think that EA realizes that the Wii U supporters aren’t just one seperate fanbase. Most people who support Wii U and Nintendo often have either a PS or an MS console as well. When you piss us off EA and neglect the Wii U, you also ruin your image for people who have two consoles. For example, I have Wii U and a 360. Not only do I not support EA on my Wii U anymore, but I don’t support EA on my 360 either. They have lost their integrity.

    • sithWiiU

I still support EA. Mass Effect ftw.

  • Michael Jurado

oh EA ouch i almost care

  • DLC is nothing more then a money grab im glad we are not getting DLC we dont need it or it would be on the disc.

  • CalebTheBoss

I never liked DLC if the game isn’t good enough to play without add ons then don’t release it at all.

  • Petri

    No plans at present…
Little vague, is there even announced dlc to other platforms?
Not that I care, dlc for this type of game usually sucks, and should have
been in there in the first place.

  • Suraj Alexander

do you guys know how to put through suggestions to Nintendo about their console.
If anyone knows could you suggest adding facebook, twitter and Skype apps to wii u like what playsation and xbox already have.
Also, being able to purchase a specific eshop game instore. For example, say you want to get zen pinball, instead of buying a ยฃ25 pound prepaid card you can buy a zen pinball card instore and using the NFC reader scan so you can download (or typing the code will be fine). I don’t have a bank account and I really don’t want to spend ยฃ25 just to buy one game If enough people suggest this Nintendo might put this idea forward.

id be more worried about whats happening with ea as a gaming company as crysis 3 is a failure (under 2250 online players), they have canned dead space, medal of honor and if the multiplayer players dont pick up on battlefield 4 that will be canned aswell, the next need for speed game needs to be completly difference to most wanted 2 as that was a failure

Off course they dont’n bring downloadable content to the Wii U. This game hasn’t sold that many on the ps3 and xbox 360, and foor the Wii U they won’t either, because the instaled base is still very small.

So off course they won’t put in extra devoloper costs which thet won”t earn back.

I think it’s okay to not receive DLC from Criterion. This would mean they would be working on further projects, and gameplay would be more balanced. Have nothing against that.

  • I had a good feeling about this game, i still feel the same but it’s less now ‘Cause of this. I don’t like what EA is doing here.

I’ve never played a Need for Speed game. What is it all about? I had thought it was kind of like Grand Theft Auto (although I’ve never played that one either) until I saw the E(10+) rating. Am I wrong? Is it just a racing game? How does it compare to the Smugglers Run game that was on GameCube?

and again here we go again EA Being money gubbing whores that want to charge for online play and because they cannot they will just ditch dlc

Origin much, EA? Not buying if it hooks into Origin anyway, so no problem.
