In a recent interview, Monster Hunter Frontier’s producer Yoshinori Ono expressed his interest in seeing the series expand beyond Japan. The letter “G” in the title implies it’s compatible with a wide range of platforms, including PlayStation3, Wii U, Xbox 360, and PC. We’re also planning to extend this support to PlayStation Vita. The reason why we have increased our support for so many hardware platforms is because we have our sights set on distributing services for this game in the future outside Japan. We simply can’t release a game as it is, but need to adapt all the necessary services to the unique characteristics of each region. In preparation for that, we’ve broadened our scope and started launching individual titles across multiple hardware platforms. If you’ve ever played and enjoyed a Monster Hunter game before, this is a reason to get excited. Monster Hunter Frontier is the pinnacle of the series. This game contains so much more content than any of the standalone console Monster Hunter games, it boggles the mind. We learned not too long ago that the game was coming out for Wii U in Japan, and we can only hope it comes to our US and European Wii Us as soon as possible. local_offer monster hunter Monster Hunter Frontier Nintendo region expanding wii u stars Further Reading Miyamoto dismisses the Wii U as a “nece 6 reasons to grab a Nintendo Switch before March 6 reasons to skip the Nintendo Switch for now Nintendo Switch Amazon Pre-Order Watch the Nintendo Switch reveal live! Guest so i know this might sound stupid but is it coming out for just wii u or on other platforms aswell Mr Ninty read before you commend DragonSilths Its already on PC, PS3 and Wii U. Just Japanese only currently. Donaald That’s the best cover I’ve seen in a while. Zorpix Japanese covers tend to look better than US covers darkcreap I tried the Monster Hunter 3 demo and I didn’t quite like it, but it is wonderful that such a good selling game is coming to WiiU. Levi Johansen The demo got a lot of critisism for not representing the game well enough. I’ve got the game and I love it, the demo makes it look so poor… You should check out some review and gameplay videos, it would be really sad to miss out on such a great game because of the stupid demo. – But then again, you might as well wait for the new game, could potentially be even better. lonewolf88 it is better O_O i have experienced the amazingly awesome of amazing world of monster hunter frontier its so amazing it made my face cry. its a completely online world of people and people in one place where you can see the player and ask people to join a hunting party and all this amazing stuff theres quest all the way up to HR 500 but I heard it goes even higher now…. watch this…. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QeqS4YypSjc yeah i know….epic…. Saul Rivera Always love how dramatic the score is when battling huge beasts! DragonSilths The demo is shit compared to the actual game. Dylan Groot I actually played the full game on Wii and I think it IS pretty representative of the actual game. Just dont like the combat and if they dont change it I’ll never like the game. Too bad, on paper it’s awesome to me. DragonSilths Tri with the Wii motes, is not the same as MH3U on Wii U with the Gamepad or even pro controller. Dylan Groot I played with that red xenoblade controller. Drowrin Still not the same as on wiiu. Dylan Groot Dude, Im saying that I played on Wii U with the gamepad and it’s not a very different experience. I mean come on… Drowrin They aren’t gonna change the combat. The combat is the selling point. probably 90% of MH fans would stop buying if they changed the style of the combat too much. I understand they are changing it slightly in MH4, but from what I have seen it appears to be monster hunter combat but with another dimension and necessary changes to weapons because of it. Johny well said. mh4 just just adds a “dimension” in familiar mh gameplay mechanics (also a few tweaked moves in classes). It is still played pretty much the same. As you said, monster hunter is what it is MOSTLY because of its unique (for better or for worse) gameplay. and its fanbase loves it because of that. DragonSilths They aren’t changing it in MH4U its just being added onto. The original play style is still there. Just with some extra stuff added. Drowrin Agreed. You worded it better than me. ^-^ Dylan Groot Just some more intersting combos and a lock on system would be enough for me, and it wpuldnt change the game. Itd just make it more fun and responsive. Drowrin MH3U has a lock on system, and several more weapon types which I find to have interesting combos. Zorpix Every single person I’ve talked to confirms this Squid The game is really hard to get into. You need to get into it to enjoy it, WadeSlade I also tried the demo and really didn’t like it but then a few months later (after watching several videos on YouTube) I decided to pick it up when it was on sale and I love it. Demo doesn’t do the full game justice Steve Rees That is exactly what happened to me, apart from it wasn’t on sale when I bought it. No regrets, amazing game! Drowrin If you liked the combat, You’ll like the game. If you disliked the games because of the combat you won’t like the game. If you disliked it because of some other reason, you would probably still like the game. Johny oh god 🙁 another victim to the HORRIBLE repulsive demo of an amazing game >_> a moment of silence. Saul Rivera When you start playing the actual game and start to finally mow down those huge foes..it suddenly clicks….and than….than there is no returning back.. LJay The demo does not give a good indication of how rewarding or epic MH3U really is,try n pick it up cheap somewhere and give it a chance, its awesome! Adam Howell I think monster hunters good. I’m not one of the die hard fans. But the demo is very unrepresentative. It drops you in the middle of nowhere with no idea what you’re doing and gives you a monster to kill. The real games starts in a town with lots of minor quest to give you a feel of how things work. There’s a huge amount to this game that the demo doesn’t really express. lonewolf88 don’t even compare that abomination of a demo to this glories game! Skelterz Do you have to pay to play this this game or is it a free online mmorpg cause if its free once you buy the hard copy count me the fuck in this is great news if it comes! Zenshun Its sub based. Pricing may be around $15 same as WoW and other sub base MMOs. But thats for JPN they may go a different route based on the western MMO market. But we’ll have to wait and see how everything gonna be and if they release it here. Skelterz dude hopefully its free. Shota why not online with cross platforms?? Zenshun MHFG is cross platform. The PC and 360 versions play on the same severs while the ps3/vita(not 100% sure on the vita yet do to lack of info but lets just assume) and wiiU versions play on the same servers. If it does come over they may keep that set up or maybe due to there being less interest in mh compared to jpn they may combine them all for the same servers. Shota thank you much about this info!! i appreciate it 🙂 Johny i really hope that will be the case. like they merged wii u european and US servers (really a shame they didnt merge japanese ones too :/ i love japanese). Zenshun Could but they probably won’t. The main reason they didn’t merge the JPN servers with the west servers on the main game(s) was because of the collaboration quest/weapons/armors. From what I have seen of MHFO they only have the miku and the DMC weapons/armor. But chances are they won’t. JPN with the west servers not the US and EUR servers =P Johny ooh.. of course.. i didn’t even think of that. Mh3u (mh tri too) too has tons of event armours and weapons like.. from awesome anime and stuff (Attack on titan, One piece, Jojo’s bizzare adventure, and many others)which are licenced and can’t be in the west :/ Fierce-Deity Link mh is one of those games that i can’t enjoy unless i am hunting those monsters with friends… maybe i’ll pick it up if my other friend does, but he sticks to his 3ds mostly soo… Simon Stevens Though MH3 wasn’t as good as Soul sacrifice that I played last year, I still enjoyed it, the demo was crap though but once your introduced to the system, thar be no going back, haven’t been as addicted to one game since Muramassa on the Wii, hoping MH4 can build on that, I don’t need a life, Gamer Mania The game graphically = Looks last gen The game gameplay = Looks the good old Monster Hunter Formula in MMO form The game Box Art = Why can’t all Wii U game Boxes look dat sexy? I can get over the graphics seeing how it’s Monster Hunter ^^ Zorpix MH is never really about graphics, but I’d love it if just once they could just blow us all away Nick Benson North American box art. Lil J Moore I got a good laugh out of this Guest I’m glad I did so! Have a wonderful day! 😀 kevin nun—- Out of Topic: Apparantly there was a Wii U MMORPG to be announced in 48 hours? http://nintendoenthusiast.com/news/hullbreach-uncloaked-reveal-within-next-48-hours/ Nintendo Direct? SP-937-215 The Gamepad setup begs for RTS and MMORPG games. Wii U is the only console that would be really good for it without forcing people to buy a keyboard and mouse setup, other than a PS4 paired with Vita, but who wants to shell out for that? Brian Lockett Been sayin’ that for years. 🙂 abe The said this about monster hunter frontier for the 360 too.I love MH but I don’t see an subscription fee version getting much interest westward RichM I got MH3U the last day of the sale and haven’t played it yet. I played a bit of MH Tri on the Wii and have to admit that it is a bit to get use to. I didn’t have a pro controller so I was hacking away with the Wii Mote which I hated. Combat was uncomfortable in that it never seemed like you were facing the enemy. I heard they fixed that with MH3U, so I’m excited. Hope this one comes to the US. Shy Guy A proper MMORPG for the Wii U console… I will buy this and spend many long hours playing this while ignoring all my other games. LJay Wish they would put MH4U on to the Wiiu too! Zorpix Eh… I’m kinda okay with not having another 3DS port on the Wii U. It was fun, but I’d rather have an MH built from the ground up for Wii U. Which I dont think frontier is either LJay Oh yeah! I hear you,but getting MH4 on the Wiiu would be the best of a not so great deal for the mh console games-any will do! :p Zorpix right XD I’m sure I’d buy it, I’m just patiently holding my breath for something built from the ground up Frankie It has been confirmed to be coming to the west. Zorpix Do you have a source? 🙂 Frankie Siliconera reported on it a few days ago. Zorpix I’ll check it out. Thanks! companyoflosers of course they will call it monster hunter frontier ultimate for the american release Rinslowe Capcom kind of need to do this sort of thing anyway right now. steveb944 I really hope the services are free or we can pay a one time lifetime fee. I have an addiction for MH, but I won’t pony up a monthly fee a la WoW, I’ll just stick to my old game if that happens. Drowrin Agreed. Steve Rees Please god, let this come to the UK!! CEObrainz I’d rather buy 4 Ultimate then Frontier G because of the subscription based charges that come with the frontier series. I’m currently enjoying MH3U on the Wii U right now so there are no complaints about the 2015 release date from me. That being said if Monster Hunter Online got released worldwide…. Ducked I love the box art Rick Valenta I hope they release a demo for this game that is so absolutely difficult and unplayable that it turns me off from the series permanently. Oh wait they already did that for MH3. TaintedXGamer Crossplay Online Multiplayer across all platforms wouldn’t hurt would it? Brian Lockett Nintendo needs to make that blue-green color the new game cover theme color for all regions. iamserious How about Monster Hunter 4 (Wii U) for US and EU?
