While Monster Hunter 4 still hasn’t been announced in the West yet, some footage from Japan shows how the game is shaping up currently, with new weapons, monsters, and zones. You can see a group of players fighting a monster in the above video, which looks likes it takes advantage of slightly different camera controls for better control on the battlefield.

Hopefully Capcom will announces news for this game for the West soon.

  • Did my eyes deceive me a Blade-Axe? Or was it a switch-axe? Looked like a sword/katana on the left hand and a shield on the right hand, but the shield could transform to a 2 handed Axe/Halberd? Awesome 😀

    • Baum 「ツリー」

      It’s called Charge-axe ^^
Kind of a mix between Sword and Shield and the axemode of the Switchaxe.

      • okay not so cool anymore 😛

One month until it release in Japan, and, we hope, max a year for us in west.

    I’m really exited *_*

With this game and and Pokémon X/Y, i’m afraid there won’t be enough 3DS’s in Japan to sell.

  • Luna Moonfang

With Pokémon X/Y and Monster Hunter 4, i think the amount of 3DS’s that are made per second will be lower than the amount of 3DS’s bought per second,

  • Sora Morp

oh that jump at the start was epic and i love the new weapons

  • Fred

Yes I know this isn’t the place for it, but didn’t anyone buy Shin Megami Tensi IV and NOT buy Fire Emble? I just bought Fire Emblem Awakening, but I have ZERO interest in buying Shin Magami Tensi IV. If so would you be willing to split the $30 credit with me (I’ll even go $20 you and $10 me, the way I see it me getting $10 is better then me getting $0)

I’ve been playing SMT4 all night. Simply put, it’s fantastic. You can’t go wrong with it at all.

      • Fred

I know, most people really like it, but I looked into it and
it’s not my kind of game at all. If you have it and you don’t have Fire Emblem
I’d be happy to work with you to get both of us some eShop credit

SO… is this game going to be 3DS only?

  • Schultz38

Was I the only one that wished they hadn’t taken subquests out in MH3U?

Hopefully they’ll come back in this installment.

    • JBeauregard

I never experienced the subquests, as MH3U was my first MH game; but I did notice that besides the main quests, the game felt flat for me. Fun, yes; but like it was missing some substance. Perhaps these subquests would have made a difference?

Just picked up my first gaming handheld tonight – a red 3DS XL. MH4 will be playing on it as soon as it’s released!
