Marty has posted an update to Miiverse detailing new changes that have been made to the service. The most useful of these is being able to sort by verified posts, so you can quickly see any new information released by Nintendo when Miiverse updates come, or when a developer posts in a specific community for a game. Here’s the full list of changes as detailed by Marty.

1) We’ve added a community search feature.
Select “Search” on the bottom-right of the Communities screen to search for communities. Just enter a game title (or part of one) in the search field and you’ll get a list of all the communities related to that game.

2) You can now see a list of posts by verified users.
Select “Posts from Verified Users” at the top of the Communities screen to display only posts by verified users.

3) You can now see a list of communities for the games you’ve played.
On the “Favourite Communities” screen, you can now switch between displaying “Favourites” and “Played”. Select “Played” to see a list of communities for all the games you’ve played on the Nintendo 3DS system or Wii U console you’re currently using (if they have a Miiverse community).

4) You can now mark a post as containing spoilers even after posting it.
If you forget to tick the Spoilers box when posting, you can now go back and do it later. You can also mark other people’s comments on your post as spoilers. Just select the spanner icon on the bottom-right of a post or comment, then select “Set as Spoiler” (the other option is “Delete”).

5) You can now attach screenshots when posting to your activity feed.
If a certain game has a community which allows attaching in-game screenshots to your posts, you will also be able to attach screenshots from that game when posting to the activity feed.

I haven’t turned on my Wii U for like a month! 🙁 Work is keeping me very busy. I can’t wait to play some Wii U games again this Friday. Which of these games should I buy next? Super Mario 3D World or Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze?

And who wants to add me to their friend list? i need more Wii U friends

    • Dark-Link73

      Both if you can. 😉

      • D.M.T

I don’t think I can because I really really want to buy Deus Ex Human Revolution Director’s Cut on Wii U.

        • Dark-Link73

I see. Well I strongly recommend all three as eventual purchases. As for Mario vs. DK (pun intended, lol), if you need up to a four player experience, go with Mario. If you only need up to a two player experience, go with DK. Both are great single player games. DK is challenging as hell though 😉

    • Vegeta937

I feel like Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze has the better single player experience, though both games are great.

    • Ducked

I’d go with Super Mario 3D. Much better game, the colorful visuals are great, and its got for player coop. Tropical Freeze is a good game, and more challenging, but it has clunky controls, and zero gameplay using the gamepad, unless its off screen. They’re both good games, but I’d go with 3D World. Its just better.

      Add me at “Ducked”

      • Trevor

Clunky controls? No offense but you must be bad at the game, those controls are spot-on.

        • BIG Franky

yeah, I was thinking the same thing… if anything I think the opposite can be said, and not due to any misstep ion nintendo’s part… I think that the controls on SM3DW are as good as a 3D platformer can possibly be…. BUT at the end of the day, regardless of how good the controls are, jumping on a goomba on a 3D plane is inherently more difficult than doing so in a 2D platformer.

        • AM Real

          I co-sign this

      • D.M.T

        Ok cool

    • BIG Franky

both games are great…. I personally would go with Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze… better single player campaign and the controls are tighter….tons of unlockables/collectibles and will have a very high replay value…. SM3DW is awesome too, but the 3D platforming, as good as it is, just cant compare to the side-scrolling control of DKCTF… plus the graphics are better in DKCTF…. its a really awesome game. plus you’ll get enough Mario in a month with Mario Kart!
feel free to add me at NNID: BigFranky75

      • D.M.T

        Thanks Franky. I’ll add you

    • Lil J Moore

3d World. Just a great game and fun MP if you have the people. my names Lil J

    • JB

That’s a hard one… 3D world is amazing, and would be my personal choice, but like others said, it’s best enjoyed with others. You could probably breeze though it though. DK has a great, single player campaign. It’s pretty tough too. Really you can’t go wrong either way.

For what it’s worth, DK comes in 10 bucks cheaper @ 49.99

I’m JQuest if you interested in adding me. I could use a few more Wii U friends myself! 🙂

      • David Trail

You can’t breeze through it if you take your time and try and collect everything. SM3DW is a long game then.

        • JB

To clarify, I didn’t mean breeze as in length. I was talking more or less difficulty level. I found it to be particularly easy to beat, even in collecting everything. Though I would still play it all over again in a heartbeat, which is why I would get it over DK if I was presented with the choice. I’m finding quite the enjoyment in speed running the levels.

      • D.M.T

        Ok thanks i’ll add you.

    • Trevor

Depends, if you’re playing by yourself get DK, if you’re playing with 2+ people get Mario. DK is the best game on the Wii U imo.

    • David Trail

      DKC TF!!!!!

  • When did Nintendo say the update that will allow us to skip the Wii U menu will arrive?

    • palomino blue

      • MerryBlind .

Yeah they said “some time this summer”.

  • Vegeta937

Totally off subject but there was a post on another story a couple weeks back telling people about the Nintendo online store having refurbished Wiimotes (with motion plus) + Nunchucks for $20.00. I just want to take a second and thank whoever it was who posted that because I ordered two and was not disappointed. They arrived today and, wow, these things look brand-spanking new. Absolutely gorgeous! They’re still $20.00 and I will be ordering two more to replace my old white ones that require the motion plus add-on. Thanks again!

  • Shota

the last 2 changes are really nice

  • Ryan F

Ha! these were the features I had whined about were missing the last miiverse update was done a few weeks ago. Good move, Nintendo.

  • steveb944

Finally a great update, it’s been a while. Can’t wait to check out verified posts to see what the Devs say, as well as minimizing lists to games that I’ve played.

  • Sydney Ultrasyd

I was wondering how the hell they didn’t add a search feature earlier ! Nice update

  • Actually Mr. Marty, if you select games you have played it’ll show all games you’ve played if they have a community. In my case selected it on my Wii U and it showed me a list of all games I have played, both Wii U and 3DS in the list instead of only games on Wii U as mark 3 would suggest. Just wanted to comment really…

  • jeffp3456

Should only be another 2 or 3 years before we can actually search for a topic within a community! SIGH!

  • Michael Ocampo

    Thank you, Nintendo.

  • David Trail

I wish they had the number to show how many people were in each community back.

    • AM Real

That was pretty helpful, especially for online games…I guess they don’t want ppl seeing the low install base for some games

  • MerryBlind .

Still waiting for an update to allow me to use the GamePad controls and the Wii U Pro Controller in Wii games that supported GC/Classic controller.

Come on Nintendo, that can’t be that hard to implement. You’ve already managed to make the GamePad’s screen work with Wii games!

  • ChallengerUPC

    It’s about time!

  • I want to delete messages. Why is that impossible?
