Another Thursday means new downloadable titles for the Wii U and the 3DS. The Kirby buy-two-get-one-free sale we told you about last week is ending today, so if you haven’t picked up those titles and you want to do that, today is your last day. The new sale for this week involves two newly released titles. Buy Mega Man X at $7.99 and you’ll receive 50% off of Ghosts n’ Goblins. It’s interesting to note that this is the first time you buy an unrelated title to get a discount on another, as previously the Kirby deal and the Super Mario 2 deal all related to similar titles. Nintendo could have offered 50% off of Ghosts n’ Goblins for those who purchased Super Ghouls n’ Ghosts and it would have made more sense. For those interested in the 3DS, several new titles are launching this week. Normally I don’t cover this, but The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons are now available at $4.99 each until June 20. Denpa Men 2: Beyond the Waves is also launching today at $11.99 and features some fantastic dungeon crawling play. Will you be picking up any of these titles? PS4/WiiU First comment. Too good for you. Clel -.- Matt Lambourne Jump and Shoot man! Frank Buy one game at full price and get another half-off? Totally worth it. Michael Jurado YES YES YES YES!!!! Mega man mega man mega man this game makes my dick rock hard!! Nintendofreak or mega hard Bob Charlie I remember when I first met the Blue Bomber. Back then he called himself, “Rock Man.” ‘Rock hard’ fits great. Poor ol’ Gabby Jay needs Viagra now to get as excited as Mr.Jurado is for Mega Man, however. Christopher Acuna tone it down buddy. lol. Pikachief I feel like it would fit to continue adding 3DS Downloads to your weekly Nintendo Downloads articles. It fits well and I doubt anyone would complain. Also, I’m sure most site viewers have 3DS’s here and wouldnt mind also getting that info here instead of only the wii u half without having to go elsewhere for the rest. juancamiloarq Seconded. jay This is a Wii U site. I think they should just make an all around Nintendo based site like MyNintendoNews. bizzy gie or Nintendolife arturovargasjr If you don’t like the website don’t visit the website. Pikachief Yea, and I personlly dont mind it being a Wii U only news site, but the nintendo downloads feel incomplete when only half of them announced. Its not like its 3DS news really, its just Nintendo Network download news. Bob Wilkerson I was going to get Mega Man X but now I will get both thanks to this deal. Glad Nintendo seems to be consistently adding deals and incentives to purchase Virtual Console Games from the eShop. Ashley King I wish they would do this with some of the 3DS titles. There are things I want to download but I feel like $10 is too much. Bob Wilkerson Maybe once they unify the eShops there will be some killer cross promotions Denvy Is there actually any talk of that, or just wishful thinking on all our parts. Really seems like a no brainer solution. Bob Wilkerson I am pretty sure it has been stated by Nintendo that they intend to unify the NintendoIDs and also the eShops meaning that some VC games if you buy on the Wii U you can get on your 3DS for a pretty big discount too. Only for those VC games that will be made on both platforms. juancamiloarq You should get GnG first, then Mega Man X for a better discount. Bob Wilkerson Even better… Thanks for the tip Jim Wanstall I want N64 titles jay Gamecube Joe Fraley Is it up yet? I’m looking in the eShop and not seeing it… Kenny Johnson Off topic… but what do you think the chances are that the Wii U might ever play 3DS games? Do you think it could happen? I think that could be a game changer for the Wii U, but I’m not sure if it would cannibalize 3DS sales. Kevin Sepulveda I think it will never play 3DS games because they have a 3DS system out already. It just does not seem like a smart move at all. Fred They sold the GameBoy Player while they were selling Game Boy Advances. Why not this? Ashley King I doubt this will be something we see any time soon. We know the Wii U and the 3DS will soon be united by NNID and Miiverse, but unless Nintendo starts offering a cross play option like Sony with the Vita, you’ll not see 3DS games on the Wii U. Fred Why not? They did it with GameBoy/Color and the SNES. Then they did it again with the GBA and Gamecube http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Game_Boy_Player (I still own that one). I know they didn’t do it with the DS and the Wii, but what makes you think they wouldn’t do it again with the 3DS and Wii U? Metal_Man_v2 GBA/Gamecube connectivity was not cross play. You had to have the GBA connected to the gamecube, and it only functioned as a controller used to play the game being displayed on the TV. The GBA screen showed things like maps in Final Fantasy. The tingle tuner feature feature in Wind Waker was ridiculous. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate offers cross play for the Wii U and 3DS, so I imagine that some games in the future will also utilize cross play. Fred That’s actually NOT what I was talking about. I’m talking about the Game Boy Player. I own one. It’s a piece of hardware that you connect ot the bottom of your gamecube in that port. Then you put Gameboy (regular color and advance) games in the attachment and you can play GBA games on your GameCube http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Game_Boy_Player Agent721 I think they should and in 3D. I know many beleive 3D gaming sucks, but I personally love it. Uncharted 3 in 3D is insane, its like a whole new game. I would love to try these 3DS games in real 3D on a big screen. And I too own the gameboy adapter for the Gamecube! Bob Wilkerson I doubt it. They didn’t even put in GameCube support which they could have since the Wii OS supports it. I do not think you will see 3DS or DS games on the Wii U since they play in their current handheld/portable system. juancamiloarq They should have not ditched the GameCube. Sigh. Bob Wilkerson I agree.. When I picked up my 3DS and Luigi’s Manson: Dark Moon it made want to play through Luigi’s Mansion 1 all over again which I still have for GameCube on disc along with several other games. I tried playing it using the Dolphin Emulator and it is pretty good but still not the same as it has some audio and video glitches. juancamiloarq Yeah, I’m keeping my Wii just for the GC games I have. Although I still have my GC, but lately searched for a GC Composite Cable on eBay and, damn, that was expensive. Sort of a collection item. I bought it for the my Wii instead. Bob Wilkerson I gave my old Wii away to my sister in law… I should have kept it I guess. Squid Since Wii, their consoles had backward compatibility by one console. Wii had GameCube and Wii U has Wii. Like 3DS has Ds and the Ds lite and original has Gameboy advance. And the Gameboy advance plays Gameboy. Bob Wilkerson You could even get some adapters for their cartridge based systems to play NES Games on the SNES and I think there was a rare third party adapter to play NES and SNES games on the N64. Fred They’ve done it before why not again? Denvy You’d need a 3D TV to start, or you’d just be playing games in 2D. I don’t see this happening at all. Tim van Broekhoven I would love to play 3DS games on my 3D tv!!! OMG Denvy Can you imagine how tiny it would be though? Tim van Broekhoven Tiny? Why? The gameboy player didn’t have a tiny screen either… Denvy I can’t speak for the Game Boy Player, never played on it, but games that are made to run a “x” resolution will either have to be blown up to accommodate the screen or run in fixed boundaries. I’m guessing most 3D TVs are on the larger side. Look how the Super Game Boy worked. Small play screen in the middle with fluff added to the outer edge. Tim van Broekhoven I’ve never seen footage of the super gameboy, but I have no problems playing the gameboy player on my gamecube. It looks just fine. Squid Wouldn’t it be cool if they released a DS player? Christopher Acuna Megaman X!!!! Andrew so what time? Dont see it in the store yet….12 here in canada est orpheus bryce I love every Mega Man. We need a new one NEW MEGA MAN! audi lover In the uk thats what they have done, taken 50 percent of sgg, because we dont have mega man x yet unfortunately juancamiloarq One thing I’m sure most of us would agree with, is that Nintendo should be giving a reasonable discount to owners of the actual physical game (cartridge, disc) when they come out on the VC. I mean, every game has its own serial number, Nintendo can track it that way. Something similar to the Wii/Wii U Virtual Console transfer fee. I’d be more than willing to pay for it, since I won’t be feeling I’m shelving the stuff I already own. JeanPaul I AM SOO GETTING THAT GAME!!! I HAD IT ON MY PS1! THE NOSTALGIA IS INSANE!!! MEGAMAN WOOT! A SNES Day Off Poor update this week. One Virtual Console title in the U.K? Sorry, but that’s a joke when you consider just how many games are waiting to be re-released. Nintendo had better have an influx of titles waiting to come out over E3/summer, as this is when the Wii U will be attracting lots of attention. gamesplayswill My reaction: Metal_Man_v2 I might pick this up. I like Mega Man X, and I’ve heard good things about Ghosts n’ Goblins from friends. The Zelda titles for 3DS are also a pretty good deal. For those that are confused, Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons are two DIFFERENT Zelda games. It’s not two versions of the same game, like Pokemon. Sonic It’s a shame I have the X collection…. BECAUSE NOW MY MONEY WILL BE WASTED ON THE VIRTUAL CONSOLE!!! YAYYYY!! Sylux Well Mega Man and Ghost ‘n Goblins are in a way related. Both games are from Capcom 😛 As for the question will you pick up any of these titles? My answer: I allready did got both Zelda games on my 3DS, I only had one of the two (Oracle of Ages) And I lost it during my move last year :'( So very glad I have it back again, and also the sister title Oracle of Seasons. OmegaRed I’ve been enjoying some old school gaming goodness all afternoon David Thany You save more money buying the $ 4.99 NES Ghost n’ Goblins and getting half off the more expensive $7.99 Mega Man X. ReturnoftheTruth2 You can save even more money and get ALL of the games going EMU! Geoffrey Tasker I down’t know how many time I have to Hadoken SIgma in the face to be satisfied so I’ll just keep that ball rolling Jeffery02 Nintendo! Stop it! Too many games I want and too little money I have! Mega Man X, I will get you one day. Just you wait! Bob Wilkerson If they bring GC games to VC I hope they release Megaman X Collection…. Even though I had a GameCube I missed out on most of the Megaman X series. I am not sure why because I had and played all the MegaMan games on NES. Squid That would be cool. I’d like to see Nintendo Release the Sonic adventure series since they are now besties with Sega.
