manami-matsumeHere at Wii U Daily we like to keep you abreast of Kickstarters because many of the developers who create them do so with the intention of seeing their games on console one day. With Nintendo’s new, more lenient requirements for consideration for the Wii U eShop, that goal is much more attainable. Shovel Knight is a promising 8-bit platformer that has received more than double the required funding and still has four days to go. The team have recently announced that Manami Matsume–the composer of Mega Man–will be working on the project by contributing two tracks to the soundtrack.

This is exciting news for fans, since music from the Mega Man series is some of the most memorable music to date. Matsume is excited to be working on the project as well, stating:

“This is the first time I’m working on a Western game! It’s quite exciting! Shovel Knight and I are a good fit. So… let’s get shovelin’?”

If you still haven’t backed the Kickstarter yet, you have 4 days to do so. With the addition of Matsume’s tracks, Shovel Knight is shaping up to be a true homage to the era of 8-bit gaming.

HOLY SHIT! Pardon my language, but the Mega Man games have some of the best soundtracks in video game history. Music is a big part of any game for me, and this is just epic!

Speaking of Megaman,Capcom cancelled development of what supposed to be a Megaman FPS Reboot named “Maverick Hunter” and was supposed to be more darker than the past games
I’m not sure to be happy that they didn’t turn Megaman into a FPS,or to continue to look at Capcom with hateful eyes because they STILL won’t give Megaman the comeback he deserves.Maybe both.Yea,both seems fitting

Sure they didn’t make it into an FPS, but they still rehashed it to it’s death, for the main series and all of its spinnoffs.
