Nintendo products haven’t been doing well in the UK as of late, with many retailers like Asda and Tesco slowly reducing their shelf space for Nintendo games. That hasn’t stopped Mario Kart 8 from being a runaway success in the UK, however. Over the weekend the game managed to hit the top ten best sellers list at number three. Though it didn’t beat out Watch Dogs, which released a few days earlier on nearly every gaming platform available, the Wii U console sales generated by the release of Mario Kart 8 were through the roof.

According to figures released by UKIE, it’s estimated that sales for the console were boosted by 666% of previous numbers, and that nearly 82% of consoles sold were thanks to the Mario Kart 8 Wii U bundle. This is just a quick slice look at the sales of Mario Kart 8 in one of Nintendo’s worst performing regions. It should be interesting to see how the game performed in Japan when sales are released for that region on Wednesday. Unfortunately we’ll have to wait the entire month of June to see how well Mario Kart 8 performed in the US, thanks to the monthly release schedule of NPD Group.

I bet europe sales are also so good.

  • swic11

Hopefully there is a boost globally for the Wii U. I think Iwata’s prediction of under 4 million Wii U’s sold this fiscal year was ridiculous, and I think Mario Kart 8 alone will get them to around 4 million. With SSB releasing this winter, they should sell a lot of consoles. Sad part is, this won’t help with any additional 3rd party support.

    • companyoflosers

if it can get consoles sold, it will help in the third party department. the only issue third parties have with nintendo is they dont think nintendo’s user base is large enough to sell games so they dont develop for them. if nintendo can show that the wii u will sell just as well as the other consoles, we should start seeing more support. now one could argue that the original wii sold the most units last generation and didn’t have third party support but i believe personally (so i could be wrong) that thee wii was drastically under powered to the point that it was basically a gamecube with motion controls. the wii u however, even though not being as powerful as the xb1 or ps4, can still push out decent graphics hence their being a wii u version of watch dogs on the way. if watch dogs can do well on the wii u than that will send a message to 3rd parties that there is a user base big enough to make it worth their while to develop for that isn’t only interested in nintendo games alone. after so many years, nintendo just needs to renew third party developers’ faith in them.

Listen wiiu specs never got out other then it has 38MB of edram shared with cpu/gpgpu,it has a custom e6760 with a tr core power pc cpu with out of order and edram cache done it was also confirmed to be severely underclocked by a few sorces so how can you compare power ???

We know Sony told everyone wiiu had 22GB of bandwidth ram and ps4 had 178GB,well it turns out wiiu between the edram and the ddr3 can get 563.2GB of bandwidth ram over 3 times the ps4 ??? Hmm believe Sonys porkies and your just dumb,i mean Sony say silly things like our ps3 does 120fps ??? it barely did 25fps….haha

        • companyoflosers

yes and the ram bandwidth is the reason the wii u can push out 1080p 60fps when the xb1 and ps4 struggle to. the processor also has more power per core but not enough cores to beat out its competition. nintendo has never been worried about power and the wii u meets nintendo’s needs. again though, nintendo’s biggest issue is they have a console that meets THEIR needs because they designed it. third parties still dont know what to make of it sometimes because nintendo just hands them a devkit and little to no instruction on how it works and expects them to figure it out. nintendo’s overall attitude to third parties is if they want it bad enough, theyll figure it out, not realizing of course, they are the ones who should be wanting the developers, not the other way around.

    • matt

Most people have gone past caring about 3rd party multiplats all they do is lower the value of your console in the long run as opposed to quality 3rd party exclusives like Sonic BOOM,Bayonetta2,Hyrule Warriors, ect and 1st party games that are just the best.

  • Jeffrey Debris

666%? Sounds like a deal with the devil. ๐Ÿ˜‰

This is good news, I’m really hoping for some massive Wii U sales. I wonder if Smash bros will have a similar or even better effect. I know so many people who’d buy a Wii U for Mario Kart or Smash Bros.

    • matthew garcia

I’m not good at math but if it’s averaging about 1300 sales a week in UK how much is that shot up 666%

      • 8,658

        • matthew garcia

That’s not bad for a small country like the uk

          • Relick

1/5 population of USA, not really that small. Nintendo rarely does well here, even the Wii was overtaken by the 360!

          • I thought that happened in the US too

          • Relick

Oh yeah so it has, I didn’t know. Still, just shows how important the Japanese market is.

          • Gameonfool

There is over 60M people in the uk, not massive geographically but over populated for its size. There is probably something like 50x people per square mile than USA or something like that.

        • matthew garcia

Actually I’m not sure I was doing a little reading and it seems that average could be a lot less then 1300. Not to sure

      • gerb1977

Just to flesh out the numbers a little. If we have a similar increase in Japan and US you are looking at about 60K units in Japan and 125K in US for the week. Hopefully Japan and US numbers are even stronger.

        • matthew garcia

I would think they would be better in u.s. and Japan. Of course though Wii u sales in UK have always been painfully low. Similar to Xbox in japan

          • matt

Nintendo have mostly always sold better then xbox in the UK,and the UK love Nintendo anyone i speak to in the UK about Nintendo says only good things, and ive spoke to 3 people already that say they are buying a wiiu with Mariokart8 in the next month,my girlfriend my brother and my mate baz, these sales are just a weekend compared to watchdogs week of sales ??

Mariokart 8 will keep selling in the UK Watchdogs going off reviews and customer reviews are negative it will fall off the cliff very soon Mariokart8 will keep selling big.

          • MujuraNoKamen

Nothing does as bad anywhere as 360 in Japan ๐Ÿ˜‰

      • Darius

actually more around 9,500 a week then do the math for the 666% my source is pretty damn credible

      • matt

Try reading this page on Amazon uk the wiiu is outselling ps4 and xbox1……

So the increase in sales has propelled wiiu to the top in the UK why is there no articles about this……??

    • RockieOllie

My body is ready for sacrifice!!!

      • Mario

I’ll tell Ike to bring his sword for the sacrifice. ๐Ÿ™‚

        • Dark Lord Sauron

lets sacrifice mario to appease the gods

          • Mario

            Me!? Why not you!? :0

    • “Sean” jjbredesen

I think it is working out just a good as i thought and perhaps even better, so i think things are going to lighten up for Nintendo over the next couple of months, just imagine fantastic sales news etc. for the next 2 weeks and then we get a fantastic E3 and then when Hyrule Warriors releases it goes even higher followed by X and Bayo and then when Smash hits lets just say Wii U gets the smash ball xD

      • nin-10-doughfan

        nailed it :> ๐Ÿ™‚ :/

      • Rinslowe

    • CydeFxt

Is it possible that Smash will do better?

      • Mike

Just the thought of that is making me giddy…

        • CydeFxt

LoL yeah i know what you mean

    • Rinslowe

If anyone made a pact with the devil it was Luigi, lol. Have you seen the gifs? Classic sadism. But with style, haha….

      • This game….

        • Rinslowe

It’s an absolute must have if you’re a Wii U owner. Easily one of the best games I’ve played this year and the best visuals on the system to date.

        • matt

I have the game wow the graphics are so good it’s almost hard to believe ? i mean this is Nintendo’s first HD mariokart and it shows sony/microsoft how its done attention to detail is remarkable.

  • Lil J Moore

    • brian0057

The number of the beast! Sacrifice! Is going on tonight!

      • J_Joestar

“Please Understand, the Dark Lord requires a sacrifice for us to have continued sales boosts for the Wii U.” -Iwata to unsuspecting intern.

        • brian0057

I was refering the song by Iron Maiden but that works too.

        • Mario

Who are you referring to? Sauron? Voldemort?

  • Darin

Went to the same Target I bought my copy at in Oklahoma City and they had a sign up that read, “No more Mario Kart 8 games or bundles available” and when I asked the guy behind the counter about the bundles he said, “we’ve had probably thirty calls today asking if we still had any”.

  • Mozellergodt

Great, now they just have to nail E3 ๐Ÿ˜€

    • TheBoldman67

Get Star Fox, GameCube Virtual Console, better third party support, and release Smash in mid-November, and they’ll have nailed it. Also add in whatever else games they wanna make in there too.

  • Sdudyoy

That’s good, I hope this starts happening all over the world.

    • Lil J Moore

Just need more games and marketing. Thus E3

  • Before we get too excited, let’s keep in mind that this trend has to keep going in order to “turn around” the Wii U.

but on that note WOO MARIO KART IS GREAT ๐Ÿ˜€

    • Sean Jarret

That’s what you say NOW – but you will learn to hate the game once you play me online! (Muahaha, muahahahaha, muahaha-urgh, ugh, ugh ugh… blergh… hehehe, muahahaha MUAHAHAHA!)

      • I dunno. I’ve been doing pretty good ;3 but sadly, the Nintendo Network’s stability seems to leave quite a bit to be desired. I have good internet but can’t stay connected very long before losing connection

        • Rick van der Linde

Not the first post mentioning this, but I’ve had 0 problems so far.

          • Stuart Thomas

yeah no problems for me either. Keep getting my as beat down online though. Some serious competition.

          • Yousif Alromaithi

They beat me a lot. They are good. I never get no1 most of the time. I just played twice. Until I get first. Hard to get no1 without luck.

          • *shrugs* might be my internet, but I doubt it. Monster Hunter and the like plays without issue

          • Sean Jarret

I had some connection problems actually, but only on the level selection screen.

One person doesn’t select, the timer goes off and after a few secs of nothing it gives a connection error.

Never during a race – but I did a tournament today with only people from my country (NL, NL – Dutch rule, Dutch rule – woooooot. Sorry, had to get it outta my system… I’ll just close these brackets right now and continue on with my story like nothing happened…) and I played dozens of games without a single problem.

        • gerb1977

I’ve heard similar complaints but haven’t lost connection yet. Granted I haven’t raced yet online but my 5 year old has raced quite a few

          • maybe it’s related to the time you play? Busy times etc.

        • iamserious

Yup I get maybe 4-5 rounds in and then I get booted off due to some network issue. Hope it gets fixed soon.

          • okay good. It’s not just me >.>

          • matt

It’s ur internet wiiu’s online is more stable then LIVE/psn easy i have all 3….punk ass.

          • oontz

            ha ha, rage much?

          • iamserious

Whoa calm down there. I’m gonna get the usb to ethernet adapter that should help since I’ve been using wifi connection.

          • matt

Dont talk crap like the wiiu nintendo network isnt up to it when its your home network that isnt ?? u need a good speed broadband you fool for any console to work how its meant too….My wiiu has never ever and i mean ever choked on me while browsing, online gaming,or watchin netflix, you name it the wiiu does everything flawlessly.

Don’t listen to these fanboys trying to put what is by far the best console on the market with the most nextgen games the WiiU.

          • iamserious

Ok young dude again calm dude. No one is talking crap. I love the Wii U. I have never played an online game with it though so did not know what to expect. Fact is that I do get cut off from the network and I see it happen to other players that I play online with. For me it might be caused by the fact I use wifi. I’ll have to get the adapter and check on that. For others I can not say and neither can you.

        • JB

I had connection problems a few times as well. That was only in worldwide matches. Regional I was fine. So it’s definitely a Nintendo issue. I have gigabit Internet, so I know it wasn’t my connection…

          • yeah. It must just be clustered servers. I’m sure it’ll get better as time goes on

          • matt

Stop talking crap MK8 is the best game this gen….

          • JB

Who’s talking crap? All I’m doing is confirming that I did have a few issues connecting. It wasn’t really that big a deal since I got on for the majority of the weekend. It wasn’t like I was locked out for days on end (i.e. What I experienced with Titanfall lol)

      • Mario

    • JB

Well at least there’s some hope in the fact that Mario Kart is generally an evergreen title… So perhaps hardware sales will stay somewhat high post-release.

      • and it’s a social living room game, so people will be more likely to go play it at a friend’s house and buy it for themselves after trying

    • greengecko007

Hey Zorpix! As always, I’m looking forward to the next Zorpix den, but If I may be so humble as to merely offer a suggestion, why not bring up what set ups you have experimented with in Mario Kart 8?

      • I’ll be talking about MK8, but not so much the setups. good suggestion though… I might include it if people aren’t tired of MK8 by then XD

        • greengecko007

Awesome! And I’m sure there are plenty of people besides me who are interested in Mario Kart 8’s competitive community.

          • I’m getting there… not very good though! ^^

  • Kyle

still waiting for my copy to arrive, this is killing me!

    • andrew

      pre-ordered it from nintendo uk?

      • Kyle

no I live in Brazil :/ lol, preordered from a store here

  • Kenshin0011
    • J_Joestar

So much for leaving luck to heaven…

      • Mario

    • Ducked

Did Nintendo just make a Walt Disney move…

      • Mario

        …Maybe. -_-

    • bistricky

  • Yousif Alromaithi

Loved the game so much. One of the best I played on Wii U. Not surprising it managed to sell. I knew from the start.

  • Ultrasyd

666 ! EVIL !! That’s not a good number ๐Ÿ˜ฎ Please by more and make it at least 667 so we are safe

Maybe a %777 boost so Nintendo get a boost in luck

  • nintendope

I could barely play a few tracks since the game came out, I had so much work.. But all the other Half-fans on the internet played the whole weekend, Damn it Nintendo you truly work with the devil!

  • This still classifies as click bait.

    The good kind though.

    On another note:

    • Yousif Alromaithi

Awesome gif. Man love it so much.

    • curious how it’s clickbait? The article is about exactly what the title and subtitle say.

Or maybe I misunderstand clickbaiting entirely?

      • It suggests a massive influx of sales, without actually giving a number of sales, merely an estimation percentage. I suppose it’s not really clickbait, though.

        • that’s all that’s released right now, but if it makes you feel any better, most other sites have similar titles ;p

        • oontz

exactly 666% increase of 1 is only 6.66. By over sensationalizing the title without providing the base numbers, it becomes click bait.

          • there’s not one Wii U out there though

          • oontz

I was using that number as an example. Without knowing the origami number that increased than it doesn’t matter what percent it increased by, right? There is a big difference between 1 console increasing by 666% or 10,000 consoles.

          • well yeah, but still. We know there’s at least a few hundred thousand

          • oontz

A few hundred thousand consoles sold?

          • before this 666% number

          • oontz

You’re saying there were a few hundred thousand wiiu’s sold in the uk the week/month before mk8 dropped? Correct me if I am wrong, but I didn’t think it was sell THAT well in that region.

          • I thought it was an increase of overall sales. Not just those from the month

          • oontz

Okay well lets pretend it was an increase of 666% of a few hundred thousand (rounded to 300,000 units). With those numbers it means that nintendo sold over 1.5 million wiiu’s this past week because of MarioKart8. Considering the actual game only sold 1.2 copies world wide. I have to think that the 666% increase was an increase over the previous week/month wiiu sales and not lifetime sales.

          • eh. sure.

      • greengecko007

“Clickbait” is just becoming another buzzword on the internet being thrown around far too often. The point of any article is to provide readers with information and catch attention.

    • Adrian

Clickbait = “You’ll never guess what the latest Nintendo hit did to sales in the UK!”

      • SO I’m not a busyness person, sue me, or whatever the legally jargon is.

    • Louis

      Just like Nicky in Casino:

“You beat Wii U with fists, it’ll come back wit a bat. You come wit a knife(or a sword in this case), Wii U comes back wit a gun.”

Also, don’t know where this quote’s from: “Never bring a knife(or, once again, a sword in this case) to a gunfight.”

      • matt

Considering WiiU has beat xbox1 console sales in the UK for at least 3 weeks now,Nintendo is big in the UK stop trying to chat shit xbox brand is disappearing in the UK it has fair weather friends in the UK basically fans that will jump ship at any given moment like when ps4 had a good release and xbox1 didn’t 70% of xbox fans jumped to Sony ?

Sony is the biggest in the UK with Nintendo a close second……the wii and the ps2 sort of prove the uk love both companies and if anything i hear no1 talk about xbox anymore in the UK since xbox1 ?? slowly disappearing look at movers and shakers click on best sellers wiiu is in front of xbox1.

  • On another nother note, trolls on Amazon are funny:

“So I got this game, and found out you can eat magic mushrooms and drive go carts. Apparently, the mushrooms give you a speed boost! So I went down to my local go-kart track with a few of my friends and we ate some mushrooms and it was quite a trip! So many insane courses, defying gravity and the laws of physics and bright, wonderful colors!!! But then, I woke up in a ditch in a crash, and in a pool of vomit, and the police came and arrested me on a DUI charge. This game is a terrible influence on children! I cannot recommend it to anyone! Hate on me all you want-I am reporting the facts and really and truly have in fact played this game.”

” I played Mario kart 1 and loved it. 20 years later 8 comes out and sorry but did I miss something? I remember 1, 64 and double dash. I think the developers forgot how to count because it should be Mario cart 4. Anyway the game is unrealistic and you can play as a gorilla. I’m sorry but I work with gorillas all day and not once have I seen them drive a car. The gorilla can NOT drive. would you feel comfortable with a gorilla driving your car? I did not think so. Soon kids will think gorillas can, and this cannot happen. 0/5 stars a giant failure.”

    • 00EpicGamer00

I think these are the type of parents(?) that over shelter their kids.

I really like how in the second one he/she only complains about a gorilla driving, and not any other animal in the game. What about the turtles dude? What about Yoshi, lol. Is Nintendo going to make kids believe dinosaurs still exist and can operate machinery too? ๐Ÿ˜›

“I played Mario Kart 1” correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t Donkey Kong playable in the first one? Even if not. He’s playable in 64 and Double Dash. ๐Ÿ˜›

    • CommanderBlue

How does one even respond to something like this?

  • Magnus Gonzalez

I am actually surprised it sold that well. The dudebros bought into the undeserved Watchdogs hype and came out in droves. Seems like hype and bad game combo is like crack to the dudebros

    • matthew garcia

I love Mario kart and purchased it already but I got watchdogs on ps4 also and to be honest with you I been having a good time with it

      • Magnus Gonzalez

case in point. My buddy is playing on PC and says it’s fun but a buggy mess and metacritic user scores rate it pretty bad. Like I said, the more marketing dollars spent, regardless of quality, seems to result in high sales in the U.K. Not the brightest market in the world.

        • blindtiger

same in america, most commercials i see are for gta and cod

        • greengecko007

There’s always metacritic users that rate things bad, and their user reviews are the least credible pieces of writing you could possibly look at. Giving games a score of 0 just because they didn’t like it is pathetic. Critics have generally given Watch Dogs good high scores, and from gameplay videos, it looks like it is very deserving of those scores.

          • Magnus Gonzalez

Pretty sure lots of those good critics scores are bought and paid for. From what I have read, heard, and seen it’s a decent game 7/10.

          • greengecko007

I don’t buy into the conspiracy theories of critics being paid for good reviews. The game does have its flaws and problems though, such as not being properly optimized for the PC like you mentioned, but it still looks very fun. I’m going to get it whenever it comes to the Wii U because it does look really good and I want to support 3rd parties on the Wii U.

          • oontz

“Pretty sure lots of those good critics scores are bought and paid for.”

Any evidence of this, or is it just your opinion?

          • Magnus Gonzalez

nope. no evidence for an opinion. might as well ask if someone has evidence why they feel a game is better than another. However, based on what I know about the industry, I think it’s safe to say that, again, imho, these sites have a vested interest in not upsetting the apple cart. If you want early access to the development process, interviews with devs, publishers, manufacturers…well, you can’t be making enemies else the other site gets that story over you. Factor in the amount of ad revenue these massive AAA titles bring in and it isn’t a stretch to put two and two together.
Asking for proof is like asking me for proof the NBA, the stock market or boxing is fixed. It’s obvious that they are but proving it is another thing entirely. But if people want to live with their heads in the sand more power to them. Sometimes I envy them because then I could be blissfully unaware of how things really work and are in this world.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

I guess that means that Mario Kart 8 review scores are bought. If that’s what he’s going for.

          • oontz

hmmm, he deleted all his comments.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Nah, he was banned earlier. He was starting problems with me early on over an opinion, but I’m sure having a mock account had a bit to do with it too. Magnus Erikson and I in this case. Wasn’t a smart move on his part.

          • oontz

good to know. He seemed like a dick.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Most people are who can’t get past their fandom. It showed in each of his comments, especially when you disagree with him. People like that are the true trolls of the internet.

        • Commander Jim

Metacritic user scores have long been proven a joke, it had a low user rating before the game was even released.

          • oontz

  • Gabe Hoffman

    It was actually number 2

  • Guest

I’m part of the 18% that didn’t get the bundle <3

  • mikeybruises

Loved the game. My only problem is they’ve made the game to defensive. When you get the lead you have to constantly hold onto your item. Whats the point of having a banana when you can’t drop it strategically. Either give multiple bananas/shells or allow the player to hold the item behind them and the ability to pick-up another one. That way we can watch the mayhem from the review.

    • nWo4liFe

Because you’re first and it comes with a price.

    • C4

I hate how it takes ages to drop the banana. So you’re forced to hold the button all of the time and drag it behind you :/

    • greengecko007

I’m loving the game, but I also hate only being able to have one item at a time, and there are a few items that are way overpowered. If enough people mention these things in their Club Nintendo post play survey, Nintendo may patch it.

    • great deku tree

I hear you. my tactic in MK Wii was to hold a banana behind me then when I went over a box immediately drop the banana then I’d be getting another one from the box and so on. always got people since they couldn’t see the banana. also put bananas half-way around corners and after boost bumps…..so basically all of the places that’s hardest to dodge because I’m evil like that hahaha.
anyway yeah I don’t think the biggest problem is 1 box only but that like 60% of the time you get stupid coins UGH!!! hate those stupid coin items. you take a chance and put down a banana and you’re rewarded with 2 boxes of coins despite having 10 coins already leaving you defenceless for AGES.
I think they should either keep the coin items but allow you to get 2 boxes or get rid of coin items and keep the 1 box. I’d be fine with taking a chance with the banana if I knew that there’d be actual items for me at the next box.

I think the coin item should be dropped. Coins are important, increasing your top speed up to 10 and always providing a small boost, but as an item they are the weakest.

The tracks are littered with coins, which respawn. Drivers in first often have 10 coins already, like you said, and are concerned primarily with protecting their position. What good is getting 2 coins from an item box if being hit by a red shell causes me to get hit and lose 3 coins?

Mario Kart 8 will have a positive effect on Wii U sales, no doubt.
It won’t be the magic answer Nintendo are hoping for, but it will help to open the gap to the XboxOne. There’s no point in chasing the PS4 as that’s very unlikely goal.
Those stating that 3rd parties will come back if Nintendo manage to shift loads of units are sadly mistaken. The royalties paid to Nintendo are the biggest problem, followed by a non standard hardware design, and then install base.
If it was all about install base nobody would be releasing games for the XboxOne. (that might still happen if the Kinnectless bundle doesn’t do something significant)

MK8 has been fun. But damnit what the hell is this Battle mode? MK64 battle mode was a huge part of my childhood and even up till college. Come on, make it good again.

  • 00EpicGamer00

Lol, 666%? The devil deep inside Nintendo has awakened. Prepare to see games take a more “darkened” turn. *Evil laugh*

  • Joel Cruz

This will save the Wii U. And then SSB4 will come out and the sales will be No.1!

  • Steve Rees

This is all looking promising. It’s great to see a boost in sales here in the UK. I also got Watchdogs on PS4, so can’t say I’m surprised that MK8 didn’t hit number 1. However, I’m sure I read that MK8 was number 2, not 3 as stated in this article. Could be my mistake. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • ZeldaFan83

666% increase is great but I would like to see actual numbers.

  • wiimenonowiiu

    Really good news

  • bistricky

More then 666 percent ….. cool. I would think that is a lot of Wii U bundles (not sure how many they actually sold prior). Combine this with the strong numbers coming from Amazon, and it could be really great news for Nintendo and the Wii U. Cheers ๐Ÿ˜€

Last time I saw a huge % for sells was for Toki Tori 2 on Wii U..next thing we know they’re firing people =_=

  • classicgamer20

Soooo did Nintendo make a deal with the devil because 666% is an interesting number

    • Mario

  • Gordon Tillett

I completely understand why. Mario Kart 8 is phenomenal and everyone should play it. It doesn’t hurt that the online play is exquisite also.

  • Logan Wayman

This is so beautiful, *sniff* I think i’m going to cry.

  • lonewolf88

and on that day of may 30th 2014 they say the wii U was revived by mario kart 8 jesus.

    • Gam

And then Satan took Mario Kart 8 under its wing and the game got a 666% sales increase.

  • Donaald

Wii U is a beast confirmed!!!

  • Commander Jim

Id like to see this be the start of the Wii Us comeback, but Nintendo being Nintendo will fail to capitalize on the momentum and it sill be a shortlived boost.

  • oontz

Let’s not get carried away Ashley. Without any actual data to back up these claims an increase of 666% isn’t that big of a deal. Let’s break it down. Say last week 1 wiiu was sold in the uk, and this week there was any increase of 666% in wiiu sales in the uk… well thats only 6.66 wiiu consoles sold, and 5.66 more than the previous week. Without the actual sales data before the increase… this article is nothing more then a sensationalized, click bait article.

    • Rinslowe

You’re being a little harsh. It’s the same news everywhere.

      • oontz

It’s not reported in the same way on other outlets I’ve read. Sorry if I was being harsh.

  • MujuraNoKamen

Great news! Hopefully this will draw more attention to Wii U in the long run and people will realise that it’s not a Wii controller and it has some amazing games.
I really hope that this will turn things around not just be a temporary boost in sales.
