Warner Bros. Interactive announced LEGO: The Hobbit late last year with a teaser trailer and a few screenshots, but no mention of a release date. Today the publisher announced that LEGO: The Hobbit will be coming to the Wii U and other platforms on April 8 in North America, and April 11 in Europe. A slew of new screenshots was released with the announcement, showing off Gandalf and the dwarven crew attempting to escape Goblin Town after angering the Goblin King. While this batch of screenshots focuses on that particular battle, the actual game will be based on both of the released movies so far, An Unexpected Journey and The Desolation of Smaug. Adrian Byrne Lego City is to this day one of the best games i’ve ever played, i really thought it could have been a system seller MujuraNoKamen It really should be. It could still do well if Nintendo would advertise it but that could be said of Wii U as a whole. Such a shame. bizzy gie It’s between that and Lego Movie Video Game. But probably City since it’s open world which I love in video games. val berger I’d be interested how the Lego games are selling compared to all systems they are being released on. Should be one of the more successful 3rd party-franchises on the WiiU, shouldn’t it? Magnus Eriksson Lol! At people talking about the last movie isnt out yet. The book has been out for more than 50 years 🙂 LevenThumps The LEGO games follow the movies for their games, not the books. Their previous games that have had both books and movies, Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, followed the movies more than the book, with Lord of the Rings taking the exact dialogue from the movie. The trailer for the Hobbit game show this to follow the same pattern, as it shows some scenes that were in the first two movies that were not in the book at all. Skelterz They should do a lego RPG like FF or Chrono trigger just imagine. Arthur Jarret We had Paper mario RPG – why not Lego Mario RPG? Zuxs13 You know this is usually one of the better 3rd party games on Nintendo. they port them well, I found them far more fun on my wii than on my ps3, but maybe thats because my nephew could play me too. Sam Loved the first move. Haven’t seen the second yet, but I’m going to get this. Zuxs13 Might as well pick it up, what else are we going to play? Another platformer?
