Over the weekend at the San Diego Comic Con, it was revealed that LEGO Marvel Super Heroes will feature Stan Lee as a playable character. Now, the game has received a possible release date, with both Amazon and GameStop listing the title as coming on October 22 in North America. For Europeans, Amazon and Game are listing the release date as November 15.

Amazon.com is also running a special promotion for the game, for those of you who pre-order. Pre-orders will give you a $10 credit toward your next purchase on Amazon and is available for all version of the game, excluding the Nintendo DS. This is a pretty standard pre-order bonus from Amazon, so if you’re thinking about getting the game that extra $10 could go toward another game.

Seems that we get the Amazing Spiderman (judging from the looks of Lizard) 😀

But I don’t get it, why they put all those huge characters in the game. Does anyone know the reason for that?

    • They’re popular. If a DC Comics game were getting released, I’d expect to see Solomon Grundy, Lex Luthor, Bane, etc.

    • Zombie Boy

It looks like there are lots of normal sized characters too, but the trailer concentrated more on the giants of the Marvel universe, just to give it some wallop!

  • Zombie Boy

Big fan of Marvel, but this is a ‘maybe’ for me. Mainly because I predict my wallet will still be recovering from October!

    • Guest

      I’m feeling powerful

      • Zombie Boy

        That’s actually pretty awesome…

    • Feel the power!

  • bizzy gie

Wow. This game is coming to EVERY platform.

  • JBeauregard

I doubt that it is, but does anyone know if this is open world similar to Lego City (the game rocks, btw)?

    • Baum 「ツリー」

I’m not sure. I think it’ll be the same like the previous LEGO games (before Undercover) where you have a hub world where you select the missions

      One can only hope

    • Mochlum

I’m 90% sure it is. I remember hearing in an interview that it has an open world version of New York. It isn’t too unlikely since the past 3 games in the series have had an open world (LEGO Batman 2, LEGO Lord of the Rings, LEGO City)

    • rp17

It definitely is. The devs said that you start on the helicarrier (like in the Avengers) and skydive off it into an open world “New York.” I see this as Lego City plus (because of the 150+ characters with unique abilities.)

      • JBeauregard

Hell, if that’s the case, I’m sold! Lego City is an amazing game, and when I complete it shortly, I’m going to want more!

    • JBeauregard

Geez, I don’t know how I missed this, but it is open world… which means it MUST BE BOUGHT lol

  • Mr. J

After playing lego city undercover and loving it, I’ll definitely be preordering this game.

This and Wind Waker HD are the games I want most in October, and the Amazon preorder deal is actually kind of good for me since I’m trying to save as much money as possible for all of the games come out. But then again, Wal-Mart gives you a free preorder War Machine minifgure if you preorder it. Decisions, decisions.

This doesn’t get me that excited but I might pick it up in a while. My little sister loves LEGO games.

I love Marvel so this might be the one Lego game I have fun with. They’re neat and all but I don’t like how you die and then just reform. They should add difficulty settings.

      • Merrfn

That is also my only problem. No consequence for dying. But that is because it is aimed at a younger audience. My little sister, who is 6 loves LEGO games. I always have to help her and she is horrible at them, but she feels like she is winning unlike in a racing game.

LOOOL, Hulk’s face look like a baby!

Day one buy for me, i’m collecting the Lego series (got all the 3DS and WiiU versions)
