LEGO sets are an extremely popular toy for many, and with the new LEGO Cuusoo voting system, we’ve seen more and more franchises given the LEGO treatment. Cuusoo is a way for the community to vote on community ideas to be turned into an actual LEGO product. It’s one of the reasons we now have LEGO Minecraft blocks. Several different games have popped up on the Cuusoo project page, but none of them have been as ambitious as this The Legend of Zelda series.

This project already has the necessary votes to be considered by the company behind LEGO, but Nintendo will also have to sign off on the idea as it uses their IP. Still, it’s a neat look at something that could potentially become a reality in the future if everyone involved signs off on it. Would you purchase this LEGO set if it were to become a reality?

Actually, Zelda was the top voted for Lego Cuusoo, but the reason it never saw the light of day wasn’t because of Nintendo. (Or, atleast, it wasn’t the only thing) Lego said that making Zelda sets would require so many custom made pieces that it wouldn’t be able to be funded by the Cuusoo program, and would have to be a set series made by Lego.

The Lego DeLorean was the second most voted, so they went with that one.

    • Ted Myconkey

What you said could be misinterpreted by some of the readers here. That was the last Zelda submission. This is a new project and the creator actively tried to avoid the mishaps of the previous Zelda project.

      • RichM

Every single new set put out by LEGO has some new exclusive piece. It’s actually quite annoying. Look at the minifig series! That has non-stop custom pieces. They already have elf ears from the LOTR sets. I don’t think the pieces are the issue. Basically Zelda would consist of mostly castle type pieces. The only new pieces would be minifigs and accesories like the Master Sword and Shield.

        • Hopper200456

Oh- I know, I don’t know why they would need so many custom pieces for Lego Zelda. That’s just what Lego said.

  • Sydney Ultrasyd

Very nice ! Lego are the best toys ever. EVER.

  • Nintendo has published Lego games before so I do not see why they should not jump on the popularity of the Lego games and make a Lego Legend of Zelda and license their characters to Lego for Lego Playsets.

Sounds like a logical partnership to me.

    • Re-Master

Not to mention, Nintendo announced recently that they’re going to be more open to licencing their characters. So this is very possible 🙂

        your avatar looks like shit

        • jjbredesen

What a fantastic insult sir, i bow down to you for being the greatest person on this planet, such a fantastic person really i wish i could be like you and waste my life in my mothers basement 😉

        • Virus6

SO surprising that the only account that has the hacked 141 upvotes is a mysterious “Guest” account.

    • YogiGRB

imagine a Lego metroid, mario, kirby, starfox or donky kong set (a day one buy for me) with the ability for the main figurines to be used via NFC in a Lego game ala skylanders (but more in Lego City style)

      • erich80

        Man… You made me dream!

      • Swampert Master

Would this create more of a “get the most figures you can for $14.99 each because it is fun to collect them all!” or something that would actually be worth the money and time?

        • YogiGRB

damn … didn’t think about the price part, but hope it would be worth the money and time 😀

  • Would I buy it? Short answer: Yes!

    • erich80

I would buy it in a heartbeat as well!

      • lol downvote hax, just like the upvote hax -140, -138 someone must be bored. I would still buy it indeed 🙂

  • Swampert Master

I’m an avid fan of both Legos and Legend of Zelda, so this seems like a very logical choice. I just wish they would’ve had a more memorable scene chosen, like the final battle with Ganondorf or the Temple of Time.

  • Simon Stevens

I used to make Hyrule market out of various toys and legos 🙂 I once did a masterpiece, then my mum cleaned it up 🙁

    • Simon Stevens

Also, check out what this fan did on rollercoaster tycoon 3, warning, it will make you cry in amazement, followed by a slow clap http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-H9uRJaR2U

      • Simon Stevens
      • Ducked

I love RCT3! I still play the game!!!!

        • Simon Stevens

So do I, me thinks the Wii U needs games like this to really take advantage of the gamepad, imagine a rollercoaster tycoon… or a railroad tycoon 😮 this game is so amazing, i mean, just look at what this feller did, talk about exercising creativity

          • Ducked

I was thinking the same thing. Tycoon games would work great on the gamepad. They tried to port RCT3 on the 3DS, but due to the limitations of the 3ds card, it didn’t work very well. We we’re suppose to get a new Roller CoasterTycoon that was announced on Twitter last year. I dunno what happened to that…

          • Simon Stevens

I would imagine an age of empires themed game would do well, same for sim city and civilization, anything that takes more than a simple controller approach, man…. I can’t even imagine what a rollercoaster tycoon game would look like with today’s graphics, I’ve been waiting 10 years now for a follow up to 3, that’s just too long to wait 🙁

          • Ducked

A new roller coaster tycoon with today’s graphics and capabilities would be so freaking sweet. Also to give you a option to roam around the park, and ride every ride would be great. Thrillville had it, but as a tycoon game, that sucked. All of the different textures, the game would be to good to imagine. I don’t know what they’re waiting on! Although they should bring back the option to kill the guests again like in number 2, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve crashed coasters into the park guests 😀

It seems like those kind of simulation games that would make sense on the Wii U aren’t ever coming. Like Elder Scrolls would be fantastic with the gamepad, but their not bringing it.

  • Derek

I would prefer a normal Zelda game over something like this.

  • LJay

I would buy it the second i could.

  • Sam

  • Juan Perez

    Oh no please…don’t just don’t

  • Donaald

The day will come when everyone will be able to print their own lego figures.

    • RichM

And it will be called….Lego Mii

  • classicgamer20

Well being the huge lego and Zelda fan that I am I will gladly hand them my money

  • Alex Bartashnik

    i would totally get it

  • Mario

  • Leo

That is really REALLY cool! I want it NOW!

  • Rinslowe

  • greengecko007

Plot twist, Zelda U is revealed at E3 to be a Lego Zelda game. “Please understand”.

    • Shota

    • Simon Stevens

you must build own Hyrule, we charge you full price but give you sandbox and legos, so glad you understand 🙂

    • Ducked

      *zelda fans bomb nintendo HQ*

    • RichM

XD oh my gosh I laughed so hard when I read this!

    • Virus6

That could be epic beyond words if done right.

  • e_rocket

Why are we still talking about it??? they should have sing off by now… we should be buying this stuff today!!! 🙂

  • Sam

I am proud to say I was one of the 10,000 supporters for this project.
And I think there’s a little confusion; this is a LEGO set(only one at that), not a LEGO game.

    • Virus6

Baby steps. First a LEGO set, then…. THE WORLD!!!

Wait… what are we talking about again?

  • DragonSilths

Eww. No thank you. Not in a million years.

  • GregoryTheRainMaker

    LEGO Sheik!

  • Sdudyoy

I wouldn’t mind a play set, but I wouldn’t want a Lego Zelda video game.

  • Ducked

It would make Nintendo money, but how on earth would co-op be able to work?

  • LevenThumps

    That looks amazing.

Nintendo, you want to be more open in licensing your characters. I’m sure this is a way to license your characters that will sell.

  • bakedapplepie

Lego’s and Zelda! Two of my favorite things colliding. This is a great idea, and really could be a whole series of sets.

  • WiiUPS4

Dang it nintendo sign off so i can get one

  • Henry Hotspur

    The Lego of Zelda

  • Skelterz

I’ll tell my GF i’m buying these for my son, Little will she know….

  • Andre R

noo , why do everything have to do with lego, its just too mutch.

  • InterTreble

This would be D1 for me, whatever it would be

  • Charles Caldwell

I am not sure if Nintendo would actually sign off on this, I would want this set no problems, but Nintendo already has Mario with the other company called K’Nex. It is a LEGO style blocks. I have plenty of those, check my instagram @Sparechnge

    • Agent721

Damn, you’re right…I bought one of those over xmas for my little brother. The Luigi’s Mansion set…pretty cool set.

  • RichM

This is actually very good news. The very popularity of Zelda could make this a reality. Next thing you know, TT Games will be making a Lego Legend of Zelda game…exclusive to Wii U and 3DS. Lego Legend of Zelda….is AWESOME!!!!!!

  • Dark-Link73

Omg! Everything would be awesome if this were to happen! LoL! 😉

  • Sonic 2099 The Hedgehog

  • Agent721

Nintendo said they wanted to look at more merchandising & licensing deals. Why not partner up with the most popular toy brand in the world? On a personal note, I almost bought the Back to the Future set, but I think I would definitely buy this set!

  • triplegamer3K .

Nope.It wouldn’t happen, mainly because it seems Nintendo licensed k’nex to do their i.p.’s(or at least, mario).More likely, they’d get it.
