Another Wii U bundle will be joining the Wind Waker HD bundle in Europe this fall. The Lego City: Undercover Wii U bundle will launch on October 18th, but there’s no word on whether this bundle will contain any special promotions. Previously an exclusive LEGO figure of Chase McCain was available for the Lego City: Undercover launch.

This bundle is priced at £249.99, which will be the same price of the Wind Waker HD bundle. It’s hard to see many people picking this up over the Wind Waker HD bundle, but some parents might be interested.

  • Andreas Sunde

Such a missed opportunity to make the gamepad out of Lego…

    • LopsidedPasta

Such a missed opportunity to not make this available when the game was released. Oh well. The game was very enjoyable, and I think it will still sell decently well.

    • Ducked

They could easily do that with a Wii U gamepad skin

    • TheGamerGeek128

A gamepad made out of Legos doesn’t sound very comfortable.

      • Arthur Jarret

You do have these small, flat blocks that can be used to smooth out a lego surface… so it wouldn’t be that bad.

    • Lethal_Doze

such a missed oportunity to not release this on PS3/360 and get a ton more sales

      • val berger

I’m sure you’re aware that this game is published by Nintendo, right? so why should they sell that on other systems?

      • A Lego game like this would never sell on cod console called x360 and a GTA console called PS3 adopters of those systems have so many missed opportunities for not liking Mario, Zelda and Lego undercover games (majority of the adobters including you)

    • Arthur Jarret

Can you imagine how much they could have cut assembly costs?

    • Magnus Eriksson

YES! They should have built it out of LEGO Friends to attract their core public. Nintendo have sadly failed this time to show that Wii U is a toy BUILT for 5-8 year old girls. These times its not just enough to make games in traditional girl colour palette as they have done with Super Mario U, Pikmin 3, W101 and soon Zelda and the cute kittens in the new Mario. If Nintendo want to attract their core fans they should do as Andreas says; LEGO Friends GamePad OR EVEN BETTER go FULL BARBIE! Many of Nintendos coming 3rd party exclusives is as matter of fact Barbie games. This is what a gathered community wants Nintendo! I think I speak for all of us when I say: Nintendo needs to focus even more on the shades of pink and purple!

      • Magnus Eriksson

        This is THE FUTURE Nintendo!

        • Elitepwnsface

As long as those barbies wield Armalite rifles and have grenade belts right!

          • Magnus Eriksson

            CoD Barbie ed.?

          • Elitepwnsface

            Or Battlebarbie its what ever.

  • Undercover is actually a really good game. Still play it from time to time. But yeah, given the choice, I’d probably take the Wind Waker one

    • Kevin Wickham

same here……. even though i beat it…. i still have to go through the levels again with the new disguises

      • Arthur Jarret

I 100%’d it and loved it. Although currently W101 is my favorite game… together with monster hunter and closely followed by rayman.

        • Kevin Wickham

the only reason chase mccain could be added to smash bros is because he is the main protagonist of lego city undercover…….. if you continue to dis him……. don’t bother replying on any of my post ever again…… heres the image to prove you wrong….. just look at the 2nd symbol from the right

          • Arthur Jarret

            Wow, nice find!

  • Sasori Obinna Onuorah

i was its was in america very early around the release of the game.

  • SonicLucario

GOOD IDEA! This game I feel is a bit underrated and I feel like people would skip it completely just because of appearance. I really enjoyed this game and I hope it get more popularity now

    • Ducked

Yeah this was a smart move since it’s a Lego game that’s exclusive to Wii U

  • RyuNoHadouken

    too late

    • jay

You sir are the only important person on this planet.

No one else has the right to enjoy a new bundle.

  • jay

    Should come with a toy!

  • D.M.T

I’m gonna be honest here, I hate bundles and the reason why I hate them is because I believe that a game should be able to sell on it’s own. If the game can’t sell on it’s own than it’s kind of a failure in my eyes.

People who wanted Lego City should have bought the game by now. It doesnt need to be bundled to convince them to buy the game and the Wii U.

    • and the ones that don’t have Wii U by now?

      • D.M.T

The ones who dont have Wii U should buy a Wii U and a copy of Lego City. It doesnt need to be bundled

        • ok.
          end program.

        • Justin Carlson

But with the bundle you get the Wii U and the game for the same price as the Wii U by itself.

          • ScrewAttack

It’s called an incentive to buy DMT. Most everyone that really wanted the game will have had it and completed it by now, but the lower price combined with getting the console and game at once is sure to bring in some interest from casuals.

    • FoxMulder900

It’s less about selling the game than it is about creating a good deal by packaging in a game for no extra cost.

  • david jarman

AWESOME!!! More choices trump no choices!!! Make more bundles and dominate the market!!!

Nintendo and capcom are collaborating on something. It might or might not have to do anything with monster hunter.

    • Ony

      Source ? I’d kill for Monster Hunter 4 worldwide ;_;

      • Louie

        • MujuraNoKamen

Starfox? Any of the above would be great.

          • Mochlum

If we’re lucky Platinum may make a Starfox. (Kamayia or however you say his name said he would like to work on one.)

          • MujuraNoKamen

I think Platinum would do a great job with Starfox. Nintendo ought to try it out, if they cant be bothered with SF then they should give it to a team who can.

        • Arthur Jarret

Mega man Zero ZXU would be awesome.
Or megaman legends 3 for 3DS… or wii u… hell, I’d even take a megaman cellphone game now…

But Nintendo also teased that there would be more crossovers, and more external studios would be handling their franchises… and Capcom already has previous experience with three zelda games. I think they’d do great on a third four swords game on wii U.

          • Andreas Sunde

More external studios handling their franchises? “We prefer to do our games in house” doesn’t really sound like that… But I guess anything’s possible.

          • Arthur Jarret

They announced more partnerships to produce games from nintendo franchises will be made when they revealed shin megami tensei x fire emblem. Later it was already announced Namco is co-developing smash bros together with Sora

This is mainly due to the fact that they underestimated the transition to HD and how much more work has to be put into a game.

They will co-develop or even only publish some historically system-selling franchises during the next two years, at least, to ensure there will be more incentive to buy a wii u.

      • Josiah Parsons

How bout’ MH4 on Wii U?
        Come on, Capcom!

      • david jarman
  • Toadlord

Shame I live in NA then. I actually would prefer this one over the Wind Waker bundle since I just recently played through the Gamecube version.

  • Ducked

I hope North America gets a New Super Mario Bros U bundle.

    • AlThor

      99.9% probability on that one!

      • Ducked

        I hope so

    • BIG Franky

there will at least be a Mario Kart wii u bundle…. for sure.

      • Ducked

Oh yeah for sure, I was thinking the same thing. Probably next Holiday season.

  • andrewjcole

It’s kinda funny that this is coming out quite a bit later than it’s original release. I already have the game on disk, but I can see parents that would buy this for their little LEGO fan.

  • Justin Carlson

North America Please. I have a friend who has been waiting to pick up a Wii U and wants this game too. I’m pretty sure this would get them to do it.

  • Justin Carlson

These bundles are a really good value proposition for the consumer. For less than the new PS4 or XBOne, you can get a console with a good game, and you don’t need to buy any more controllers to play with your friends. (I’m assuming anyone interested in a new console already has a Wii remote or two at home.)

  • BIG Franky

I actually think tha tthis is a rock-solid marketing strategy that should’ve been done all along and should be continued with future titles.
I’ll tell you what, they really should do this with the upcomign Bayonetta 2 game being released next year…. tha twill sell A LOT of units. the first game was a giant hit.

  • therealruben1

  • Agent721

Lego City is by far my favorite Wii U game…it speaks to my GTA sensibilities! Over 45 hours in via my first playthrough. Its one of those Ill never trade back in.

  • kevin nun—-

    isn’t the Zelda bundle $299 not $249?
    EDIT: crap, euros. My bad

    • ScrewAttack

      Pounds you heathen! :p

  • ScrewAttack

£250! I’d be pretty mad right now if I’d paid full whack for a deluxe at launch. As it happens a mate of mine works for Tesco and had a 20% staff discount weekend when I preordered, so got it for £240 :p

    • Arthur Jarret

I’m not pissed off – as it’s almost over a year ago, and not right after launch like the 3DS… it’s going to be the systems second holiday season. In this period, I spent 20 hours on assassins creed 3, 20 on batman, 50 on lego city, 400 on monster hunter 3, 40 on most wanted, 10 on mario u, 7 on luigi u, 30 on nintendoland, 15 on pikmin 3, 25 on sonic racing, 200 on tekken tag 2, 50 hours (so far) on the wonderful Wonderful 101 (worth buying the system for!), 12 on zombi u, 4 hours on ducktales, 15 on toki tori 2, 20 on Trine 2, 200 on star wars / zen pinball, 5 on nano assault, 30 on eartybound, 5 on little inferno, 8 on the cave, 2 on puddle and 5 minutes on rabbids land.

Tonight, I also spent my first 4 hours on rayman.

This doesn’t even include the many hours spent drawing in miiverse and the art academy program.

I think I’ve got the 50 bucks I over-paid as an early adopter out of it…

  • Jake

Now they must advertise this, the wii u and how it is a new system, the games and why you would woul pick it over ps4 and xb1. I am not asking a commercial every break, and my desktop to be full, but do some decent ads. My Sis watches the disney channel and they do a great job there, so now more. Wii U #2, (3DS is my fav)

  • Quicksilver88

I was actually hoping they would do this as the game was good and didn’t sell that well……Also Nintendo published it and is probably sitting on a bunch of stock. These bundles are solid with Legos having kid/family appeal and Zelda more for the Nintendo core audience.

  • lonewolf88

i’ve been thinking and is nintendo going to do the 3ds? right before the competition release there consoles they show off bundles says theres going to be a price drop? and amazing first party coming? nintendo might be able to do this.

  • Non_Specific_Action_Figure

5 Words. Non Specific Action Figure Game. With me, as the sexy hero, that gets the Very Specific Barbie Doll, as the girl who is almost as sexy as me! And, it will have its own bundle!

  • Saul Strange

Great idea! Probably should have been done when the game was released, but it’s cool that it’s at the new reduced price.

Hopefully it’ll help shift a few more copies of the game, I saw no advertising in the UK for it when it came out.

I would also think that it’s still an appealing bundle, even alongside Wind Waker HD. Lego’s a big brand and it’s probably the best Lego game yet, hopefully it’ll sell well 🙂

    • sd

They released this bundle in Japan I believe.

  • Kevin Wickham

I hope Sakurai Will announce chase mccain to be playable for smash bros when that gets released……

    • Arthur Jarret

Nah… there are so many characters who deserve inclusion more. Like little Mac and King Hippo (Punch out), Shulk (Xenoblade chronicles), Colonel Sanders (Batallion wars), Max (Advance wars), Chibi-robo, Doshin the giant (as assist trophy), Odama (as assist too), Four swords link (instead of child / toon with his own moveset unlike regular link), Sonic with a new UP+B rescue move that involves tails.

Also, if any lego city character deserves to be in smash bros, it would be frank.

His final smash would be to break your compuper.

      • Kevin Wickham

you asked you?! no one even cares about you!!!!!!! chase makes a great addition to the roster!!!!!!!!! if you say anything bad about him, i will go into your profile and comment some mean things about you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

        • Arthur Jarret

But… chase will fall to pieces after three hits… he’d be the worst smash bros player ever!

      • Kevin Wickham

listen her sir chase makes a great addition to the roster….. but if you continue dissing him again….. i will have the villager kill you with his axe

        • Arthur Jarret

I’m not scared! Frank will destroy your compuper before you have the chance to order your axe from the catalogue!

  • Kevin Wickham

Sakurai probably will announce that chase mccain will be playable in super smash bros for wii u/3ds when they released that in europe like he did with olimar when pikmin 3 got released in japan last month

  • Dipso

Should come with one of the Lego City sets 😀
