If there’s one thing that can be agreed upon concerning the launch of the Wii U, it’s that Nintendo hasn’t advertised it enough. Thankfully that seems to be changing, as Nintendo have just released a new TV ad that should be appearing on networks across the world in order to advertise the upcoming Lego City: Undercover. The game is poised to be available March 18th, 2013 for North America and will be available March 28th, 2013 in Europe and Australia.

What do you think of the TV spot? Does it do an adequate job of explaining the game to parents who might want to pick up the game for their child? Let us know what you think in the comments!

Looks great to me. Need to sell the games, not the system, and this commercial does just that!

  • Paul Brown

    I want it

I like it. The only thing I’d change is at the very end (e.g. in the last 5-10 seconds of the ad), they could try to push for the broader system itself a little harder. Something like “… Just one of many awesome games available exclusively on the all new Wii U”. (then they can show a handful of quick action shots of 3-4 other games [e.g. Nintendo Land, ZombiU, etc.)

Very good commercial much better than the early ones. Shows plenty of footage and none of that lame dubstep

I just saw it on TV a few seconds ago. They need more commercials like this. It gets the job done, and does it well.

  • Nintedward

    I give this game a 9/10!!!!!!! ๐Ÿ˜€

    Wait…… I haven’t played it yet ๐Ÿ™ . But still , a 9/10 none the less! *flies away*

  • I hope you do see the ad in TV…because there’s also a short ad for MH3U, but I didn’t see it by now (except for the eShop and a website that had shown it….)

  • AngryU

did anyone notice the Samus Aran costume? or is it just a red helmet an orange suit? P___P

    • Borg

that would be a firefighter costume

      • AngryU

        that’s a really shame… รจ___รฉ

  • Nintenjoe82

I’m gonna wear my Nintenjoe T-Shirt, power glove and super scope when I go into my local game to pick this up, such is the momentous occasion of an actual Wii U release.

  • Mr. Nidoking

I think it’s about time I placed my pre order.

  • the commercial was pretty good, but the internet trailers are way more epic! >:D

  • Wayne Beck

I’m very excited for this game, but the commercial is a little meek for my Taste. I think Nintendo should be hyping this game pretty hard. Looks to be neck and neck with Monster Hunter for the Best Title on the System Spot.

  • Donaalld

Looks fantastic. I’m excited about this one.

    • Gamefreak361

You being nice is really creepy. Nice change I suppose…..if it’s really you.

I’m ready to be a positive member of this community. I’m done trolling.

      • WiiUltra

Its not. The real Donaald is Knowledgeiswhatsup. This one has two L’s.

My one main criticism (just from seeing this ad) is that it looks like they present it as a kiddy game, although I bet it will be much more. Someone said they should be previewing more games in the last 5-10 seconds, which I think is crucial since they have done very little advertising, and the earlier dubstep commercials really didn’t make me want to pick up a Wii U (although I did on day one).

This definitely beats their other efforts though! Keep them coming Nintendo!

  • it was ok, but felt they could have shown some of the unique features of how the gamepad works with the game

  • Madmagican

Well at least it’s better than the first Wii U commercials

  • disqus_TCujPcjAm7

I will be getting this game day one with my teenage son lol
