In a recent interview with Hideki Kamiya, Polygon has learned that the developer at one time had an interest in working with the Star Fox franchise, but due to people constantly badgering him with questions, he’s decided that he would no longer be interested in it.

“I’ve been known for saying I want to work on Star Fox, but the tendency for this to spread and people constantly pestering me with questions, like ‘How would you do this? How would you do that?’ … Quite frankly, I’ve decided I don’t want to work on Star Fox anymore.”

Kamiya is known for being very forthright about his feelings on development and his fans; earlier this year he went so far as to tell Super Smash Bros. fans to leave him alone via Twitter, as it seems they’re constantly pestering him about Bayonetta appearing in the new game. Kamiya says he’s open to the idea and would be extremely honored, but the constant badgering from fans no doubt is hard to deal with every day.

  • insomniac

i do not blame this guy one bit

    • Super Mario

Thank you. Fans even stalk me at my home. It is very scary….

  • Daniel Gonzalez

Can’t blame him. Fans from any gaming platform are a bit much sometimes. They nag these guys to death.

  • incoherent1

If you don’t like being pestered on Twitter then don’t be on Twitter (or switch to a private profile). That’s the whole effing point of social media.

And, quite frankly, if you don’t like having passionate fans, then we don’t want him working on classic franchises anyway, so he can go back to toiling in obscurity. Nintendo can EASILY find someone else to make it. kthxbye!

    • TULFich

I can see now RETRO´s pokets filled with joy!

      • incoherent1

Yes! Monolith too… Can you imagine them building Star Fox after X is finished? It’d be gorgeous!

        • Andreas Sunde

          But would it be good?

        • TULFich

No I can´t, they are perfect on the RPGs

Starfox is either RETRO´s or NAMCO´s work

  • Petri

I don’t take everything he says seriously.
If he really wants to make it, he will.

Someone (other than fan) finally managed to cough up the courage to ask about Bayonetta on Super Smash Bros., the answer was satisfactory for me.

  • Guest

You could just not pay attention to the people pestering you, i.e. stop using Twitter Kamiya.

    • JBeauregard

I laugh at the fact that people down voted you because you essentially said to ignore your fans and/or remove yourself from twitter so you don’t take any abuse. You’re being logical. Those down voting? Not so logical at all.

      • Super Mario

What makes you an expert on human life? If someone asked fans to nicely stop with their questions about a game I’m never developing and then continue to do so? Who is really logical? You miss the point entirely. Thank you for proving my point.

        • JBeauregard

I can’t justify responding to some twits need to pretend to be someone else, and attempt to have a conversation.

          • Super Mario

I never pretend! Also, you just did by commenting trying to justify. Again, logic defeats you again.

          • JBeauregard

Lol I never commented on your questions, dumbass, because you’re a lonely person with mommy and daddy issues that likes to pretend to be someone else because they’re ashamed of their life.

          • Super Mario

Poor kid. You’ll never be as famous as me. As for mommy and daddy issues, I think your mom is calling you from the basement. Might wanna go get your lunchables now.

P.S. At least I didn’t insult you first, so who is the real kid here? Learn to take a joke instead of being so uptight. Good day now. You’re now obsolete. 🙂

          • JBeauregard

I’m argumentative today, and you have been a good target. I wish I was a kid and lived in a basement, sadly I’m full grown and pay a mortgage. As for lunchables? I think I’ll go buy one.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

No offense though….if you knew he wasn’t the real Kamiya, then why bother to comment on it at all? A downvote and moving on would’ve did the trick. The more you comment on people like this, the more you stoop to their level. Besides, not all of these fake accounts are that bad, some are actually quite amusing. Of course, I’ll give you that some are annoying. When that happens, best to just let them be and move on.

          • JBeauregard

You’re right! I’m just in a bad mood today. Most days I wouldn’t waste my time. I find myself irritated by people like this today. I just want to argue lol

          • Clel

Don’t take your bad mood out on other people D: It’ll hurt everybody, including yourself

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Yeah I know how that is. Lol. I usually don’t take my anger out on here since people like that or any ignorant fool on here talks smack I can’t even remotely take them serious. I pity them and chuckle when they try to make sense.

          • JBeauregard

Unfortunately, I’m so grumpy I don’t care if anything makes sense… Today. Lol tomorrow I’ll wake up and say, “wtf was I thinking!”

          • Adrian

            I don’t blame you, it’s a little bit fun.

      • Donaald

So what, he has to sacrifice his freedom for the sake of not being harassed?

      • BIG Franky

JB, the illogical thing is actually thinking that it is acceptable for someone to be forced from using a service (in this case twitter), because of the actions of others. that is akin to saying that the freedom riders in the 60’s should’ve stopped trying to eat at the “white section” of cafe’s because they were being harrassed for not sitting in the “colored” section… It’s ludicrous…. he has every right to use twitter, and use it in any fashion he sees fit, just like you or I.

  • Slug_DC

Kamiya – You make a product for the fans. Your entire livelihood is predicated on giving the fans something that they will enjoy and purchase. The fans should *never* be considered as an annoyance. They are the ones that give your work validation and ultimately put the food on your table. Get over yourself.

    • Yen

I think it’s more the fan’s attitude that’s the problem.

    • Wayne Beck

Yeah no. That is not how the world works. He makes video games. If people like them, they buy it. Just because people like the games he makes does not make him beholden to harassment. He is not a celebrity. He’s a game designer. Not that there is anything okay about harassing celebrities either. A Game Designer certainly should not have to put up with harassment from rabid fanboys just because they are good at their job, especially about a game he neither made nor was in the process of making.

      • Slug_DC

I’m not sure what “world” you’re in that doesn’t work that way, but where I come from the people who pay for your work are the ones that you need to please. I don’t often see producers or leaders at businesses small or large in ANY industry talk down to their fans, subscribers, or customers or talk about how much of a burden or annoyance they are. Nobody should have to deal with outright hostility, but fans merely being passionate about what he may be working on and wanting to engage him about the process does not qualify.

        • Adrian

?? Chill out man. He is allowed to have an opinion. He is allowed to not be a slave to his “fans”. I’d do the same thing if I were him. Also, this dude obviously isn’t a starving artist. He doesn’t need to be a sellout who follows the whims of the masses. He can flex his creative muscle, so good for him.

          • Slug_DC

“Chill out”? I don’t see anyone here getting upset except Kamiya. He’s acting like a petulant child.

Nobody is saying he has to do what the fans tell him. His “creative muscles” are his to do with as he pleases. But he certainly shouldn’t be talking down to the people that support him. It’s low class and out of touch.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

He’s not acting like a child. He’s stating how he feels. Plus, he’s not making a Starfox game which his statement clarifies. He has a right to express himself just as you do and I. You’re lashing out on him just for free speech.

Fans are far worse. Look at how bad celebs like actors get harassed. Can’t say I blame them. Fans are unbearable. Plus, he has a right to have a twitter account. People need to learn to respect peoples wishes and not take away personal freedoms.

            Be real.

          • Slug_DC

What he said boils down to “I don’t wanna do this anymore because fans are annoying”. That doesn’t sound childish to you?

And yeah, actors/actresses get harassed to a ridiculous degree sometimes. And how many of *them* do you see going, “I don’t want to do this movie/tv show/album anymore because my fans are annoying”? Not many because they know where their bread is buttered.

And when exactly did the removal of personal freedoms come into this?

          • Adrian

Do you have kids? Or have you ever dealt with them? I can tell you, an initially good idea sounds pretty damn horrible once kids (multiple kids, one kid is easy) start bickering about it and tearing it apart into 50 pieces of what they specifically want. It often ends up being better to just forget the idea in the first place and do something else.
            He’s probably experiencing something similar.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

That’s how I see it as well.

          • Slug_DC

Does your livelihood depends on those kids being happy? If yes, then you need to learn how to deal with them appropriately. Does that mean giving in to all of their whims no matter how impractical or silly? No, of course not. But it does mean, at the very least, basic, common courtesy even if you aren’t receiving the same.

          • Adrian

Again, he’s no starving artist. He doesn’t NEED to do anything he doesn’t want to. Also I don’t think he needs to be courteous or respectful to those who aren’t to him.

          • Slug_DC

You keep pointing out that he isn’t poor. I’m not sure how the level of one’s wealth dictates the level of civility they should or shouldn’t display when dealing with others.

          • Adrian

I’m not talking about his civility really, or I don’t mean to be. I don’t really care about his attitude, I’m just talking about his right to do as he pleases. I point out his wealth because a poor artist needs to do whatever he can to survive, even pieces of work that don’t interest him or things that he hates. A wealthy artist can choose where to focus their energy, and they can use their passion to create something amazing because it is EXACTLY what they want to be making. If he lost interest in Starfox due to fan harassment (or “passion” as you call it) then I support him in his decision to not work on the game, and to go another direction. He doesn’t NEED to make this game. That’s my point.
I prefer his honesty over fake public stances given by companies when they talk about “valued customer feedback”.

          • Slug_DC

OK, I see where we’re getting crossed. I don’t think he has to make Starfox, or should still want to make Starfox. He shouldn’t have to talk about Smash. I don’t think he should have to do or talk about any project he doesn’t want to do and I don’t think he should allow the fans alone to dictate the direction of his work. At all. If he has lost interest in a project for whatever reason, then I hope he finds something else he is interested in to work on. I have no qualms at all about him doing what he wants. My only problem with this whole scenario is him calling out the fans as the reason. Even if it is true, and based on his twitter feed I can totally see it, it is still low class and just basically bad business to put it out there.

Sum up: “I am no longer interested in this project. I’m not feeling it anymore.” – Fine. No problem.

“I am no longer interested in this project. I’m not feeling it anymore because the fans are annoying.” – Unnecessary, s#!%ing where you eat, and talking down on your fans.

          • Steve

So… Let me get this straight. You and I both agree that he has lost interest in developing said game because the fans won’t give him a break from all these questions that state the same thing… Then, you are saying that he should not blame the fans because it might upset them…

Well, how else will he get it to stop? He has every right to have a twitter account and enjoy the service as much as both you and I. So, that out of the way, how else is he supposed to stop the fans from constantly throwing the same question again and again on a regular basis? Ignore it? Yeah, try doing that when you have hundreds coming in daily.

The simple solution is letting them know. Additionally, stating that he has lost interest in development of a highly demanded game may get fans to take him more seriously, considering his reputation.

All he did was speak the truth. What’s wrong with that? It is not he insulted the fans. What do you want him to do, blame the Internet?

“I’ve lost interest in developing Starfox because the Internet is annoying”

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Wealth has nothing to do with it. It means that fans aren’t respectful of his wishes, so why should he do the same? This has nothing to do with someones status.

          • Steve

You do realize he will simply be a part of a development team that gets paid by the hour regardless of what spoiled fans think of the outcome? If the game flops, that’s the company’s problem. He did his job — write the instructions to make it work the way he was instructed to.

With his skill, finding an alternative project would e a piece of cake.

          • Slug_DC

I’m still not seeing how his role in the company is relevant here. It’s basic bad business. No matter how talented you may be at…whatever you do or no matter how easy it will be for you to get involved in another job/project/whatever; you s#!%#ing on your customers is still a Bad Thing. Is it the end of the world? Is the company folding because of it? Of course not. But that doesn’t make it Right. I can’t think of a single industry where this isn’t true, but we’re defending this guy?

          • Steve

The thing is, he is speaking in behalf of himself, not the company. So, business ethics has really nothing to do with the situation.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

You’re claiming he is childish for saying fans are annoying. Well, that’s his right to say. Which is a freedom, fans always seem that people have no right to say anything because they are here to develop games and has to please everyone. That is a removal of freedom.

          • Slug_DC

Removing a freedom would be advocating stopping him from saying such things or forcing him to not speak his mind. Simply saying that he childish or in the wrong isn’t the removal of freedom; merely the exercise of the same.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

True. However, there are a lot of fans who act like he has no right, that is implying that they believe in removing freedom. One way or another, it doesn’t justify it. That was my point.

          • Slug_DC

I agree with you there. I believe he absolutely has the right to speak and act how he pleases and to do his job as he sees fit. I just also happen to think he’s acting like a tool. 🙂

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Well, that’s a personal opinion. Fans act like tools too. Goes both ways. To each their own.

          • Steve

Not to be mean, but the fans are acting like spoiled brats.

          • Slug_DC

Truth. But not to sound too cliché; but two wrongs don’t make a right. He can’t stamp his feet, so to speak, and still take the high road.

        • Wayne Beck

“the people who pay for your work are the ones that you need to please” No. Just no.

The people who pay for your work need to be pleased with your work. No one is obligated in anyway to put up with the type of harassment this man sees on a daily basis. I don’t care how big their creepy man crush is. He has no obligations beyond ensuring that his game, the one he is actively working on, is a fun and entertaining experience.

    • Super Mario

You try getting pestered by unbearable fans and see how you like it. Easy to talk when you don’t experience it yourself. Want my job for a week? You wouldn’t handle it.!

      • Adrian

Why do you do this? Are you the same person who does this with all random Nintendo names? Seriously, why?

        • Super Mario

Are you claiming that I’m not real? That is very rude of you. Now I won’t be making the next Zelda either.

          • Adrian

mhmm, 1. I don’t care. 2. I am pretty damn sure you aren’t the real developer. 3. Get a life, kid.

          • Super Mario

            1. You do since you commented.
            2. Derp derp derp, you don’t say?
            3. Take your own advice, kid.

          • ScrewAttack

I don’t see what’s wrong with the guy posting as Hideki, does it hurt anyone even slightly? He stills makes good points and asks good questions, so why reply with insults and plain childish behaviour?

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Considering fans make accounts using their idols everyday over the internet, I don’t see anything wrong with it. In general, people get offended over the littlest things. I found at least some of the comments he posted amusing and nothing that offensive.

          • Adrian

I am philosophically opposed to impersonation unless it is in a comedic forum.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

What’s considered funny is subjective. I found him funny and wasn’t offended by his posts and others I suppose like yourself will find him a nuisance. Same logic holds firmly on standup comedians, in movies or tv shows.

          • Adrian

At least you admit that you are a fake, unlike many of the past impersonators on here. I was saying I don’t care about Zelda, apparently that wasn’t clear. And I’m not the one trolling a website pretending to be somebody else? Haha. Assuming you aren’t a kid, I guess you might just be a hella weird adult who impersonates developers on a fan site? IMO, it’s less embarrassing to be thought of as a kid. I’ll just assume you are under 20 for your sake. 🙂

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Age never has a huge factor on maturity. He could be over 40 for all we know. Even so, he’s not hurting anyone with his posts. Some will find them hilarious and others will be offended.

    • I see your point and maybe he needs a little help in how to deal with pestering fans. Maybe he needs to close out twitter and take a break. I can also see his point and even though I am not on the same level as he is I do work in IT support and pestering people can really get to you sometimes. Either you learn to deal with it and move on or you let it get the best of you.

    • Steve

Slug_DC, the man is merely a developer. And a game, such as Star Fox or SSB is not merely created by one individual. Furthermore, the decisions of what goes and what does not rests in the hands of whoever is head of project development. As a developer, his job is mostly to write the computer instructions that make the game work and look the way it does. He may be able to make suggestions, but often, the final word comes from the head of development, not him.

So, from day one, the fans were directing questions to the wrong person. Please do some research, thank you.

      • Slug_DC

His role in the company is irrelevant. No employee from the janitor to the CEO should be publicly insulting their potential customers. It’s bad business. In any industry.

        • Steve

He did not insult anyone, he just spoke the cold hard truth. Nothing more, nothing less.

And your business reasoning has no logic whatsoever. He is posting from his twitter account. He is speaking in behalf of himself, not the company he works for.

  • Ony

Nintendo isn’t really used to the contact with the ocean of Internet.

  • Super Mario

    Leave me alone!!!!

    • Nintenjoe82

Blatantly a double bluff. Can’t wait to play your new Starfox game!

      • Super Mario

I’m sure you can’t wait for a game that I’ll never create! You’re more than welcome to play Bayonetta 2 upon release. 🙂

        • Nintenjoe82

Ok, thanks for your honesty and openness towards your fans.

I’ll buy Bayonetta 2 if you put the original on the e-shop and I enjoy it!

          • Super Mario

          • Daniel Gonzalez

You’d think they would have put that on the eshop with Bayonetta 2’s eventual release.

    • Clel

      • Super Mario

        NO! I REFUSE!

        • Squid

          PUT WONDER RED!

        • Yoshifan3

    • Stephen Smith

When I bar-tended and waited tables, people wouldn’t stop asking me to bring them food and drink! It was ridiculous. Every time I turned around somebody was asking me to bring them something! And people would constantly tell me whether they liked or didn’t like things they asked me to bring them. Every day they did this!!! Oh wait… It was part of the job… When I got sick of it, I found a new job. Now, nobody asks me to bring them food and drink. Amazing how that works.

  • Yen

For people that are upset by this, just because he’s not making it doesn’t mean it won’t be made… Why are we angry at him for not wanting work on this game?

  • Andy Johnson

I agree, but at the same time it seems stupid of him not to do something because that’s what the people want.

    • Super Mario

It has nothing to do with what people want. I’m not developing the game period, so I appreciate it if fans would stop and take the comments to Nintendo. It isn’t our IP.

      • Andy Johnson

I think you are missing the point. This is a news update website for fans who care about Nintnedo and the WiiU. If you decide not to create a video game, that is your prerogative. You have every right to do so. We didn’t post on here to annoy you, we posted on here to give our opinions about the topic of the article. By being a Computer Science student and programmer, I can completely understand why you wouldn’t want to make the same thing over and over again. This was not ment as a cheap shot against your name or Nintendo.

        • Deezy

^ that… no, no, i meant the first reply

        • Adrian

Dude, do you honestly believe that that guy is Hideki Kamiya? It’s just a bored person who is making a big, drawn out, horribly dull and annoying joke.

          • Andy Johnson

I could really care less if it is or not. Either way who ever it is, isn’t exactly being professional about it.

        • NkoSekirei

  • I swear this guy’s twitter fans have an intelligence level lower than a rock.

That being said, I’m really sad there’s not a new star fox in the works

    • If you look at some of the tweets he gets daily, I can understand why he just refuses to do certain things. There for a while people were sending him hundreds of questions a day asking him if Bayonetta would be in SSB.

      • Baum 「ツリー」

Ashley, it’s the ‘”fault” of the journalists interviewing him this time…
He gave like 5 or 6 interviews in the past few weeks and they asked him EVERY TIME about Star Fox…

I doubt, that he won’t take the opportunity to make a Star Fox game though. As far as I “know” him, he’s probably going to act like he’s angry until the stupid questions stop ^^

        • Super Mario

          GRRRRR…….ARRRRRRGH!!!! >: O

          • Starfoxguy

            Really dude?

          • nintendope

            Yay another Starfox Avatar, mine’s more badass tho, i’m Slippy the Toad, vengeance will be mine!!! ;..;

          • Starfoxguy

I would upload the first avatar I had but I don’t want to put the poor little frog into shame lol.

          • Blugrave

            This can’t really be you.

          • Simon

I totally understand why you feel pissed off with pestering fans, thanks for the games you are making for us all to enjoy

          • Bomberman

Hideki Kamiya, you can work on a new Bomberman game. BECAUSE CLEARLY KONAMI ISN’T.

      • Every day I see the same damn questions and it’s like “Dude, you can’t POSSIBLY think you’re the first one to ask this” That’d be like you going up to a guy at subway and being like “hey, can you make good sandwiches?

      • TaintedXGamer

Why WOuld bayonetta Be in SSB, just coz he making B2 on the wii U (thanks nintendo for saving that game from being cancelled)? If you ask me, I say the wonderful101 could make it in But i ain’t Gonna Bug This guy for it. Sakurai, the SSB Creator? that decides who goes in and who comes out of SSB, let’s face it, Demands works Sometimes, But Not Everytime! and I honestly don’t even have twitter, Fb and this yah, but Fuck the songbirds social net.

        • Steve

Keep pouring that truth tea! Them bratty fans need a lot of it!

      • BIG Franky

agree 100%…. a few weeks back, he made the mistake of tweeting something to the effect of it would be fun if Bayonetta were included in SSB….. what happened next was literally DAYS of non-stop replies…begging…pleading…. thousands of them. it was ridiculous and an embarrassment…. he finally flipped out. and to those that say “then close your twitter account”… that is horseshit, he should be able to have a twitter account if he wants without being badgered. i get annoyed when my own timeline gets clogged up with stupid shit… i could only imagine if i had the number of followers he does.

        • Magnus Eriksson

A diva who bites the hands who feeds him.

      • Andrew W Garttmeyer

Couldn’t he, I dunno, DELETE, or IGNORE his dumb twitter account? Don’t know why it is so important nowadays anyways. Seems silly to throw away a great opportunity for a good IP because of a few asshats.

      • adamm

He can easily ignore tweets or get over repetitive journalist questions like any other public figure does. It’s part of his job, a job he wouldn’t have if not for fans. Not like George Lucas wants to stop the Star Wars franchise just because fans ask him about it a lot. Kamiya just makes himself look like an immature and impatient snob when he pulls this crap.

    • jay

Don’t blame this guy. I can’t believe Sakurai hasn’t quite yet either.

Fans need to have RESPECT and be REALISTIC. I hate this “only-my-idea-matter” attitude from fans.

    • Bill Bong

Ever read the comments here? Some are dumber than his.

  • D.M.T

Deep down he still wants to work on Star Fox but he’s saying no because Nintendo fans are annoying sometimes. Shame on you Nintendo fans!!!

  • Lil J Moore

  • JBeauregard

I get it, but why stay connected on Twitter if you’re being harassed?

    • Nintenjoe82

It’s a double bluff, he loves the attention and he is doing all the things he’s being pestered about.

      • JBeauregard

It’s plausible. He may get off on the attention lol

  • Adrian

    Haha, awesome.

  • I can sympathize with his frustration and maybe he will change his mind one day. This needs to be a lesson to fans that you can pester too much. Maybe Kamiya needs a twitter break and disable his account or something.

  • Javy G

Simple answer! Delete your twitter and focus on what your working on, there are other ways to communicate through businesses…a simple phone call perhaps. If being on twitter pests you from all the fan comments then why have one. You should expect trolls, babies, and people begging for jobs online.

    • Aleks

      THANK YOU!

  • Mike A

Like the saying one rotten apple spoils the whole bunch. Well Kamiya has to deal with thousands of rotten apples every day. If I was in his shoes I wouldn’t want anything to do with those apples.

  • Garrett M. Cowan

I don’t blame him for it. People are more annoying now.

Side note, definitely picking up Bayonetta 2 when it comes out!

  • SonicLucario

Well this is why we cant have nice things

  • Super Buu

Dammit! What have I told about being annoying to someone like Kamiya?!

  • disqus_jnx8BgXLZd

I want Platinum Games to make SF

    • disqus_jnx8BgXLZd

      or maybe Retro

      • starwars360

Agreed but at least Retro Studios making new Donkey Kong Country at moment for Wii U. I really look forward Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze.

Nintendo had said in recent they will bring Metroid, Star Fox and other Franchises one day future for Wii U so right now Nintendo force on games release during Autumn / Fall and Late Winter 2013 and throughout 2014. When Wii U become lots of fanbase and sales much high and better then I bet Nintendo ready for classic Franchise returns like Star Fox, Metroid etc.. 🙂

I understand on it since Wii U struggle at moment so make sense leave classic Franchises for while.

At moment we look forward new Super Smash Bros, X, Mario Kart 8, Bayonetta 2, Super Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Sonic: Lost World (Nintendo is help Sonic Team in developing), new Mario & Sonic game and more as well cannot wait for what new IP game from Nintendo and lots of 3rd Party games on way like Watch_Dogs, Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director’s Cut, Batman: Arkham Origins, Assassin’s Creed IV, Scribblenauts Unmasked, Call of Duty: Ghosts, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes and more. Plenty Wii U games on way. 🙂

  • Deezy

man, they were right about this place… Troll on WiiU daily and you will get attacked by everybody O.O We dont attack trollers this heavy on PS4 daily

    • agree

    • Nintendude

I don’t normally “attack” trolls, I have fun with them. 🙂

  • ScrewAttack

Morons need to stop pestering the guy. Twitter need to change the following system to friends and followers, so people like this can stop followers spamming their feed 24/7 with the same inane questions.

  • Malik Gilbert

Should have just left him alone ……

  • derty

    What a retard.

    • Steve

I agree! The fans are completely retarded.

  • Crystal

just everyone goddammit shut up…. he could might decide due working star fox later if you leave him alone… now im sadly about other comments that he would not working on the new next Zelda… cmon guys just shut up please, just dont ask him the question and he might decide later to make new games for wii u, im very disappointed about it, i would love to play star fox on wii u but yeah now not anymore (sorry for bad english but please leave him alone)

    • Steve

      I agree with you.

On a side note, I’d recommend you work on your grammar. It makes your comment hard to read and understand.

  • Aleks

Well good. He can take that fickle attitude and his ball and cry all the way home.

  • Zeal of Antiquity

    Kamiya the new Phil Fish

    • Petri

      Not really.
Phil Fish rage quits, Kamiya trolls.
Nintendo pays Kamiya to make games, Phil Fish wishes Nintendo would pay for his game.

    • heath64

I was thinking the exact same thing.

  • Ducked

    Delete your Twitter account.

    -Problem solved.

  • Gooby

Anyone want to drop any spare cash to Ghost Song: A Journey of Hope so it can be on the Wii U go to kick starter it has almost reached its goal

  • Agent721

This guy comes off as an asshole. With GTAV on the way, W101 will be in the bargain bin soon enough & I will wait to pick it up then… that’s my reaction to all this and his other previous douchey tweets Twitter is made to interact with fans. Sounds like be can’t handle it at all. I love Nintendo & the Wii U…but not this guy. He’s made me not want to buy his games.

    • BIG Franky

then you are incredibly hyper-sensative then, LOL…..

    • C4

No he reacts to assholes. If you get attacked on the street you won’t be friendly and polite to these guys attacking you either.

On the other hand I think we all should take twitter not _too_ serious. It’s easy to put your anger into a tweet, rather then think about it for a few minutes.

    • TrueWiiMaster

I fail to see how a developer’s interaction with his fans has anything to do with a game’s quality, which should be the deciding factor on buying games.

  • crocodileman94

In other words; he wants to work on Star Fox but says he doesn’t to make the fans shut the f**k up.

  • Sam

    Stupid twitter.

  • Veliki N

Meeeh, they just want to hide, that new starfox is allready in development..

  • QuaFicK

yeap nintendo fans are the worst fans ;3

  • Steve

Next thing you know, fans will send him hundreds of tweets asking him why he changed his mind about wanting to develop the games, and reason that “they did not know” they were getting annoying.

But the beauty of having a good reputation is your privilege to demand.

  • springer85

LMFAO!!!!So because of the lame Nintendo Slurpers bashing this guy to make a new Star Fox he has now said no?LMFAO CLASSIC!!
    Nintendo Slurpers strike again!!!
I t is about time you STFU as if you carry on PESTERING the Gimmick U will be dead next Xmas!!

    • Yen

I love how you call everyone “Nintendo Slurpers” yet you seem to be the one slurping at any chance to comment on the Wii U.

      • springer85

LOL!!You Nintendo Slurpers go to Vita forums and bash the Vita…….but when Sony fans come here to bash the Gimmick U you all cannot handle it and cry and ask that person to be banned just as they are telling the truth!!!

        • starwars360

Will please just respect to people and respect to Wii U and PS Vita fans alone. Xbox 360 is my favourite console at moment and I still respect to every consoles, handhelds and PC. Will you please be good and not being troll. Bad for you. I knew I had told you in past. Lol 🙂

        • TrueWiiMaster

So in other words, you’re imitating what you see Nintendo fans do on Vita articles?

More importantly, who’s crying here? And when did you tell the truth?

        • Steve

Yup, truth be told: The Vita was a flop!

        • NkoSekirei

ignore this retarded troll he doesnt deserve attention especially he didnt get enough from his parents

    • TrueWiiMaster

      When did they “strike” before?

    • Steve

Yup! That’s probably why Sony is mimicking the “Gimmick U’s” gimmick with the PS4 + Vita

  • springer85

Nintendo Gimmick U……………………….the worst first year on ANY console EVER!!!

  • Starfoxguy

Why doesn’t he delete his twitter account or not check it because of this. I don’t care how he makes his games and they all look amazing. Now I can only hope that Nintendo allows Retro to create the game.

  • Squid

It makes sense that he’d get annoyed, but he has a job to do. Before he told his fans to “F*ck off” that’s not something you hear a developer say.

  • Cooluser

I am one, but Nintendo fans seem to be the worst for this kind of thing. 99% of them want to be running Nintendo and making the games themselves, it seems. They all act b-hurt whenever Nintendo does its own thing instead of EXACTLY what they want.

  • Madmagican

I can see where he’s coming from but to not do a game just because of it seems a little rash
….’course we learned our lesson though: too much pestering is the way to eliminate all possibility

  • discuss

Another slip? They should fire him.

  • CMB

    You’d stupid fans!!

  • Tom Greene

Oh…Boo Hoo Hideki….why you don’t tell the truth. NINTENDO has no plans to let you or any developer for that matter work on a new Starfox game …just like Retro and their ” ..unfinished business with Donkey Kong ..” hence the reason why we have Tropical Freeze instead on Metroid Prime 4 …these are some of the reasons why Nintendo is struggling with the WiiU …oh well…at least my 3ds has some great games to play until Nintendo gets their collective heads out of the arse with this ” next gen console ” ..smh. 🙁

    • Irishman

      must… resist… feeding!

  • Extra Vinegary

This guy is quite a baby.

  • Johny

lol i KNEW something like this would happen… fans have been SOOO tendant with all these “NINTENDO… kamiya is practicly begging for it ! .. give him starfox” and stuff… i knew he’d get annoyed and stuff…
well… i’m no better.. i too wanted for him to work on a SF game…

  • Anthony K Aurelia

Cry me a river, hop in your douche canoe and paddle away.

  • MujuraNoKamen

Jeez sorry for showing an interest 😉
In all seriousness I don’t get why so many fans pester devs about things like “will Bayo be in SSB?” and are you working on Starfox?” Obviously he’s not going to be able to talk about them on Twitter as such announcements would have to be approved by N first and surely come out via N Direct or a conference or something.
But still I don’t get Kamiya saying he wont do it for the above reason, I understand his frustration but surely this shows his idea for a Platinum-made Starfox is being well received by gamers and if I were in his shoes I’d push the idea further rather than turn away.
Maybe this is some sort of double-bluff like when Miyamoto said there were no plans for a new 3DS model shortly followed by the XL announcement. I hope so, I want me some Starfox dang-it!

  • That dude

Might as well stop working on anything then.

  • devmiles

it’s just another big stupid nintendo move to drop starfox, just give the fans what they want..they are waiting too long already. also we are getting enough shit games already..step up nintendo and do something about it

    • ICHI

I am hoping they haven’t dropped it. Nintendo are getting quite a few big franchises out of the way in a short time frame, what the he’ll else are they going to make (other than a new Zelda) which hasn’t been revealed. I know there’s the story that miyamoto has a new ip up his sleeve but at some point they are going to have to build on more tried and tested game franchises to fulfil their promise of a more gamer focussed machine.

  • Jon

This is why I think Dev’s should not even bother with Twitter or they should have more than one twitter, One for work so they can ignore all the idiots and one for their own personal stuff….but then when people found the other…. they’d spam it too.

  • majora :D

    Thank you fan tards

  • RoboticLink

Let’s just hope Miyamoto works on this game instead, at least he respects his fans…

  • gmanextreme9

    Tweeters, you’ve done it again.

  • Mario

Okay, I understand he was angry about the “Bayonneta being in SSB4” question. But giving up on making a Star Fox game!? I understand why he’s doing this, But why!? WHY!!!???

  • Joshua Landi

I think this guy is a D-bag. He’s a popular developer with a huge fanbase. Does he really think NO ONE is going to say anything to him? If he sits there and reads every tweet, that’s his deal. But to drop an entire franchise because he doesn’t like being pestered? Come on. If I get a lot of comments on something I just ignore what I don’t care about. I’d like to see someone like Lady GaGa do this on twitter and see how people react. What a baby

    • Yoshifan3

he could be trolling you guys hard, because he is a known troll in the community, like kojima.

      • ICHI

He is, for all anybody knows this could mean he got the job and he’s playing a trick on everyone.

  • D-Man

Why doesn’t Retro Studios make the Star Fox game?

  • C.S. Bailey

Stop being a pussy in the age of Twitter and Facebook. Maybe that’s why we only seem to be getting sequels and upgrades from companies now. They’re too scared to do anything because a bunch of angry gamers will send them messages all day long.

  • Elijah Harris

lol! the comments below made my day!

  • Aleks

Zero sympathy. You have and use a public account and you are a person of interest to fans. No, people SHOULDNT badger you, but what the hell do you expect? The FANATICS out there arent controlled by you or anyone else but themselves, yet now nonbadgering hopeful fans suffer. Kinda makes you sound like a crybaby. Princess needs a timeout.

  • Shigeru Miyamoto

Did I miss the announcement that he was offered the job? … who is this guy?

    • ICHI

He wasn’t offered the job, working on wonderful 101 and bayonetta2 exclusively for Nintendo he was asked, if he was offered to work on a Nintendo game which would it be? After he said Star Fox, fans have been moaning at Nintendo and him to find out if he could actually get the job. It’s got to be hard…… and you should know who he is by now, he is responsible for creating the two games above as well as resident evil, okami and veautiful Joe.

  • Matski

Just shut up and make a new Star Fox game! 😀

  • yup. gaming fans tend to be like that

  • Mark

Begging isn’t always the best choice is it?

  • Aamir Islam

    Can’t he like, ignore them?

  • adamm

Star Fox fans should start a campaign to tweet him asking about Bayonetta being in SSB.

  • raiden777

He is a bit of an asswipe, he needs to take all the fan comments in his stride. Get a fucking a life away from gamers on the internet. He just looks like a dick head
