Media Create has released their numbers from last week in Japan, with a surprising twist. After last week saw a sales boost across the board that could be attributed to a new tax law going into effect this week, hardware sales are back down to where they’ve been over the past few weeks. The Wii U saw a drop in sales down to around 8k, while the PS Vita claimed the top spot for hardware again. While the Nintendo 3DS still technically outsold it when including both the LL and the normal variant, the normal-sized 3DS dropped to number five behind the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 3. As for new software, Just Dance Wii U released in Japan last week and managed to sell 18k copies, taking the spot at number five. This week Nintendo only has three titles in the top ten, two being 3DS and one being Wii U. The rest belongs to Sony as a mixture between PS Vita and PS3. Even the PS4 can’t get any love for the top ten. Also just noticed that Captain Falcon was not shown in the smash direct, and that could mean that they are saving him for a special opportunity meaning F-Zero U?? I think we could see it at E3 just before 3DS version launches? matthew garcia Wonder how wii u is doing in america. I have a feeling it’s not that great neither Thomas Vienna Indeed, it isn’t. Magnus Eriksson Its dead in Europe. I was in my areas biggest Gamestop yesterday and asked about how Wii U is doing. They didnt sell a single Wii U since christmas. People are changing it in for buying PS4s and XBOnes, so they said that they basically got as many back as they have sold. Thats kind of crappy. matthew garcia At the best buy by my house they have a mountain stack of wii u in back of the store some xbox ones and no ps4 Magnus Eriksson Its horrible. It have come to a situation where retailers dont want to have Wii U in the stores, because it takes valuable place for other stuff. Wii U had a crappy small spot in the store I visited yesterday. They told me that they considered to have everything Wii U related under the desk instead. matthew garcia I saw the story how target was having a great deal on wii u cuz u get a 50 dollar gift card on your purchase. That’s a great deal but a bad sign at the same time. That means they have problems getting rid of them Magnus Eriksson Yup, they even ridiculed it in the last episode of Big Bang Theory. That tells quite alot about the reputation it got. matthew garcia Yeah its definitely not winning any popularity contest anytime soon. What’s up with vita kicking ass lately Daniel Gonzalez That’s bull! Target is just giving us a great deal and you are hating! Ahem. matthew garcia Lol I’m sure people do think I’m hating. Walmart did something similar with the titanfall bundle cuz they were having trouble getting rid of xbox ones. Daniel Gonzalez They always think that. Lol.That’s the internet for ya. I saw that bundle as well, and at our Walmart, there’s still plenty in stock. EA should have made it multiplat. matthew garcia Yeah I’m sure ea is kicking themselves in the balls right now cuz they assumed initially that xbox 1 sales were gonna be way better then ps4 and didn’t go through with development for it. Man was that huge mistake Daniel Gonzalez Big mistake. Should have learned from the PS2 era. Never count out Sony, even despite their financial troubles. Daniel Gonzalez It’s because they want people flood their stores, not avoid them. I think the Wii U would make a great repellent. (Last part was sarcasm) Daniel Gonzalez Same here. Also Walmart and Target for me. I see Wii U’s and Xb1’s every time I shop at those stores. Doesn’t matter how good people think the Wii U is, it still isn’t selling. Petri First off, anyone who deals at a Gamestop, is just awful as a person and as a gamer. Second, I’m little skeptical about your story. Unless you live in Harstad. Since in my small (by population) country, my retailer has quite a few sales for the Wii U during this year. Sure, it’s not going as fast as PS4. But now they have finally started getting seemingly steady stock of those, so we’ll see how it goes from here. I think the console was selling on hype only, and semi fabricated feeling of a “hard to get” item. Xbone is in a though spot (for a “fresh” release) though, they don’t seem to fly off the selves. Though I’m skeptical of anything that two of the biggest nay sayers write while agreeing and liking each others comments like giggling teenage girls. Daniel Gonzalez http://cdn.memegenerator.net/instances/400x/37654845.jpg Petri Yeah, no. Edit: And sorry I forgot you, you just weren’t part of the conversation at the time. Daniel Gonzalez It’s okay, I understand due to the anger you were experiencing at the time. Glad to see you’ve calmed down now. 😛 Petri You should really get your nerd checked, it is not sensing properly. Daniel Gonzalez It got you to respond back, so looks like it’s working great. With that said, my job is done here. Bye bye now. ;P Petri Cute. If you mean, that your sole purpose was to get me to respond/reply. Sure, congratulations, you won the internet. But if you think, that either you or magnus here got any kind of emotion on me, you got to try little harder than that. It really isn’t my concern how you waste your time. If you want to hate on a plastic toy and the company that makes them, It does not move me any way at all. But it’s pretty pathetic to try “bullying” the kids playing with a different toy than you (not implying that you specifically are). Just called them out on their bullshit. But it is clear to me, that you are not here for serious conversation, so yes, we can drop it here. Bye bye now. Magnus Eriksson I live in Oslo. You can go and ask for yourself instead of calling people liars. Or take a look at the sales charts and make your own deductions. Wii U sold less than 2.8 M worldwide last year. So far this year it have released one single game, and not a very popular one either. How much do you think it sell? Petri Not that important for me that I would travel all the way to Oslo. And as I stated as well, sales are not going well. But to claim that it is not selling at all, is bs. And that is the impression your comment gave. I don’t really know how well it compares to Finland. But our capitals have about the same amount of people, and total is not that different either. But I do know the console had have quite a few sales during this year at my retailers. Sales data, not word of mouth. It could be that gamestop clerk was exaggerating, they’re not really beyond bias and fanboyism either. jrob23 wow, the troll is strong in this response thread. We all know the Wii U isn’t selling well. But no worse than Xbone. The PS4 is selling better. Great! Fact is…consoles this gen will not sell nearly as well as last. Even the all mighty PS4 is coming back to earth as usually happens after launch window closes. After that, games sell systems. Xbone had it’s little surge with Titanfall but that is over. Wii U will have it with Kart but it won’t last. PS4 will have It with Destiny. But none of these systems will have enough games coming to keep up the momentum. It really seems like consoles are a dying breed. Hopefully all three support them with good games before pulling the plug though I have a feeling Nintendo will do just that before too long. I can’t imagine Xbone lasting to year three unless they slash the price to sub $300. The only console that will last imo is PS4. It is powerful enough, it will have enough support with great games, and it is at a palatable price point. That will be this gens only success. Magnus Eriksson It sells much worse than XBOXOne. Get a grip man. jrob23 you are retarded. It still has the lead with Mario Kart dropping next month. iamserious Dude I am a huge fan of the Wii U and even I can admit that it is selling poorly. Much worse than PS4 and still worse than the Xbox1. I’m not sure if everyone is talking about there own region or what but I must agree Nintedo’s next gen home console is not faring too well, sadly. Sylux I actually bought my WiiU 2 months ago in a local store (in the Netherlands) While the U was launched in December 2012 I managed to buy a brand spanking new ZombiU bundle in that store in February 2014 so yeah, I suppose that says enough? According the store they ordered 40 at the time and now they still have 17 ZombiU bundles left in the back, I suppose that says how bad WiiU sells in Europe. Like Magnus said, it’s dead in Europe, the sad harsh truth. Magnus Eriksson Go and ask how the Wii U is doing at your local game store JJbredesen. Sorry to bother you both. I respect that you speak Norwegian, don’t think me intolerant, but given that you were talking about WiiU sales I was just going to read your responses with interest. jjbredesen We where talking about Norwegian sales in our areas, but i will translate: Me: On the westcoast we only have Brio (a toys shop) the nearest electronics shop is 1 hours away from where i live (elkjøp is the name of the shop) and there it had sold ok. Talked to one of the guys working there and he said that they had sold about 6 consoles in 1 month in the small town of 10 000 people. Magnus: That does not really sound very good 😛 Did you ask how well PS4 did? Me: Yeah Wii U sold quite bad, but in the Brio where i live (Nordfjordeid) it sold close to 20 units and there only lives 6000 people here. In elkjøp PS4 sold about 20-30 units at launch and then the number declined because the lack of titles, in feb when i was there PS4 sold about 10 and Wii U sold 6 so yes PS4 sold better, but it has gone down more and more untill Infamous released and i believe that helped. Wii U has stayed about the same, but i know a lot of people are buying it now because of MK8. Carlos Webster Oh! Now I know your native language! It’s norwegian! jjbredesen Well i cam actually from the UK, but moved to Norway when i was 3, and i will be moving back there 13 years later XD Carlos Webster Oh ok. Magnus Eriksson Im swedish-finnish, but lives in Norwau jjbredesen And i am British/American/Norwegian/Greek and live in Norway XD Magnus Eriksson I think it is pretty obvious that Wii U is dead, and that Nintendo treats it the same way. They will just do what they have to do, and nothing more. Yesterdays Direct was horrible as usual, and a proof that Wii U is not prioritized at all. This E3 will be a poor show for Wii U. My guess is that it will feature X, Bayo and Smash, and thats it. I dont think there will be a Zelda, and if it will, it will be related to the release of some new hardware. jjbredesen I think Wii U is being ignored yes, i liked the direct, but the fact that Wii U version in coming i Winter made me really angry, it should be out in september, not freking november/december i guess they want to use it as a holiday title, but still….. As for Zelda U i think we will see it, they have worked to hard to just dump it. Magnus Eriksson Im not sure… I mean, Wii U is pretty much dead stuff. I think they would rather use a title like that to drive up sales for a new product. If they had a plan for a Zelda release they would have tried to keep Wii U relevant in one or another way. But instead they are killing it off. Not a good sign for a Zelda release. Now its too late to bring third parties back, and that means that Wii U is doomed to have 2-3 games released at best every year. Thats a wasteland. Spingebill Master of Darkness I agree…. Keronos idk, that seems a little exaggerated, but ya never know until it happens i guess… darkcreap “I guess they want to use it as a holiday title”. Yep, my thoughts exactly. If Smash is the holiday title, that means no WiiU Zelda these holidays. X also seems to come in 2015 since they haven’t said release dates. They are spreading titles in time. I can’t believe Nintendo are doing this. I guess they know their bussiness better, but given that WiiU is doing so poorly it would make sense that just for a change they focused more on it to leverage the situation instead of letting it die. As I have said previously: something very wrong is happening at Nintendo. Constant delays and things that have yet to be delivered (eg: Miiverse app, NFC functionality, a lot of promised and tease games, Miyamoto’s new IP, major firmware update). It seems to me that, apart from HD, this generation is requiring so much manpower that Nintendo are simply not enough to maintain the WiiU. I do not think it is that much that they want to make it die as that they’ve realised that they needed much more people to develop certain things: -Online infrastructure. While a certain improvement from the Wii gen, they still have not caught up and need to work much harder. -NFC. -Miiverse apps. -Account integration, no more “hardware bound” purchases. Nintendo is an entertaniment, not a tech company. There a lot of those things, appart form the adaptation to HD development, that require more skills in tech than in gaming. Nintendo is clearly failing in that. The fact that they haven’t had third party support is only aggravating the problem, since it makes more evident the gaps between major Nintendo releases, which are the ones that move the hardware. EDIT: To summarise. I don’t think they are killing the WiiU. They have been stupid enough to lead it to a situation in which it is dying, but not due to their intention. Rinslowe “As I have said previously: something very wrong is happening at Nintendo.” Lol, so true… “Kaz has sleeper agents in Nintendo’s marketing divisions” is a much better headline I guess than “Nintendo’s marketing divisions are just – sleeping…” darkcreap No, I think it has more to do with development for the WiiU (both in games and side-functionality applications) than with marketing actually. Rinslowe I agree in that these are certain area’s for improvement. But I’ll have to disagree, marketing and branding is hands down Nintendo and Wii U’s biggest let down so far. Absolutely appalling tbh… darkcreap Yes, I agree with that too. Marketing has been horrible. I thought it had a basis at first, so they didn’t make people buy a console with no games. But, right now, the WiiU has enough back catalogue to promote it hardly and make people buy it just for the games that have been released. Rinslowe I thought the exact same thing. Until as you said, games started stacking up and still no real push in promoting Wii U. Now I just think they’ve let the industry get the better of them as far as their image goes. And their corporate side is no doubt battling with accusations from within their own hierarchy/ shareholders etc… Thank goodness their studios still have their edge and clear focus, as we can see with their first party content – being honestly very polished experiences since Pikmin 3. So it’s not all bad. greengecko007 I honestly think that E3 this year is Nintendo’s last chance to regain customer faith in the Wii U and attract new customers. I’m not saying that Nintendo is doomed, or that the Wii U will even be their last console, but unless they can somehow keep momentum after Mario Kart 8, not very many people are going to care anymore. darkcreap Yep, agreed. They’d better have a good E3. Problem is that they have failed to impress us so far since last E3. And that doesn’t bring a positive perspective to me. Rinslowe True. I guess most of us are going into this years E3 regarding Nintendo more apprehensive than anything else… Yen It’s also possible that they’re saving the Wii U stuff for E3 and after the 3DS version of Smash is released. I’m going to wait til E3 before I judge. Magnus Eriksson So, it takes you almost two years to judge? This should be Wii Us primetime. Daniel Gonzalez Seems so for some people. Yen Wii U was released November 2012. By summer it’ll be 1.5 years. I don’t see why that’s not a very good time for any console. Plus remember the PS3 and the Vita? Their first two years weren’t great either, but they turned it around eventually and it would not be fair to call either of those failures. Also I was talking more about how they’re handling Smash rather than Wii U. The direct yesterday was great to me. Yea there wasn’t a lot of Wii U version content. 3DS version is released first whether we agree with it or not, so they’re going to talk more about it. You’re right that this should be Wii U’s prime time, and until I see what they have for E3, I’m not going to judge that they gave up on Wii U. matthew garcia Ps3 was able to turn it around cuz of great exclusives that appealed to a larger market and great 3rd party support kinda like the same way 3ds was able to turn it around from its bad start. The wii u though just doesn’t have the push that ps3 and 3ds had. I have a feeling wii u will struggle though out its lifetime Yen Yea and my point was that, there’s no telling that the Wii U won’t be able to as well. That’s up to how Nintendo handles it for the remainder of this year and potentially next year. People said the same thing about the PS3 and the 3DS as well, that they had no games and they’re dead or failures, but everyone who said that were proven wrong. It’s not impossible for Wii U to prove people wrong either. Hence why I said I’m waiting for E3 before I judge, they might have something new planned for E3 that we don’t know about yet. In terms of Smash Bros, I think they are saving the Wii U content for E3 or a later direct. So I’m not going to be butt hurt because they focused on the 3DS version this time. matthew garcia In my opinion cuz I dont truly understand how the market works but it seems wii u will have a tougher time doin it then ps3. I don’t see wii u game droughts of 3 or 4 months stopping anytime soon Daniel Gonzalez Without third party backing them up, it won’t change anytime soon. Indies are nice, but they don’t have that same support that the big third parties do to sell hardware. Yen I disagree. Third parties can only do so much for Wii U at this point. Not only do third parties not trust the Wii U anymore, fans don’t really trust third parties as much either. Right now Nintendo needs to be the one to change things. Start releasing past fan favorites as well as new ones. Make use of all their IP that they’re sitting on. Bring something new to the Wii U. If they can do that, sales will improve and third party might turn around. I think after a year of losses Nintendo gets it and have plans to change that, so I’m not going to count the Wii U out just yet. 504HotBoy I agree 3rd Party (mainly multiplats) won’t don’t jack for Nintendo at this point. Fans already have their mind made up on what system they want to buy anyway. But If Nintendo can make their system attractive and get gamers to take a 2nd look at the Wii U. By releasing some hard hitting exclusives for the Wii U. Whether it be first party, second party, or third party. Put up the money and show that you have confidence in your product. If you can get the best and more exclusives for your system, that people can only play if they owned a Wii U. Go hard or go home. Get another exclusive from Platinum, Give the fans StarFox, F-Zero, etc. Release the first console Pokémon RPG, approach 3rd parties and use that cash to secure and get some exclusive games from their franchises, like you did with Capcom, during Gamecube era. There are so many possibilities and things they can do, but they refuse too. Who knows maybe they will surprise us at E3. Maybe the rumors of Devil’s Third being published by Nintendo as a Wii U exclusive true. Maybe S.T.E.A.M. is a code name for a new Star Fox (strike team…hmmm could be Fox McCloud and his team). You never know, cause Nintendo is too damn secretive. I know they have games in development I just wish they show us for Christ sake. Rinslowe I really don’t know about that one. Back in the early days of the PS3 it was the exact same thing. And ports have been historically inferior from 360 versions in almost every case save a few, since then to now. And still Sony found relevance and a somewhat fighting position in last gens pecking order… I think Nintendo needs to take one important aspect from the Sony playbook right now and as Sony did with PS3, fund more exclusive content from third parties. Acquire a couple more first/ second party studio’s outside of their own expertise as well and provide exclusive content that covers a wider area… At this point third party companies aren’t coming back without a reason to do so. And as the Wii proved last gen, no’s aren’t necessarily the answer. More likely, Nintendo needs to make their third party titles, paid exclusives. A very deliberate push to gain traction. Not this passive mode we’re all seeing now. Relying on first party titles (even though there is a treasure trove of material to work with) means not a whole lot if they don’t have the man power to take on multiple AAA projects at one time. Which still seems to be the case. That and a strange sense of market timing that only Nintendo seems to know… Yen Nintendo needs to step up and get to a point where they have something good at least every two months. I personally never felt like I had no Wii U games to play, but Wii U is currently oversaturated with platformers and that needs to change. Nintendo has the IPs to do it they just need to use them. Another reason I don’t want to judge until E3 is because we don’t really know what they have planned. They might already be working on it. Better late than never? matthew garcia Yeah will see what happends. This secretive nature doesn’t help nintendo neither. There already isn’t hype for the console right now for new buyers. Mario and friends seems to be losing its appeal. They need to let people know what’s Goin on right now Alexander Kleinwechter im not sure if you are trolling, or just simply retarded! Magnus Eriksson If im right here, will you admit that you are the retarded one? Daniel Gonzalez Good luck with that. The crazies have a tough time with that. Shane Michaels I dont know. In this instance, I disagree, Wii U is not dead, at least, not yet. Nintendo has simply put the Wii U out and is draining the 3DS of it’s milkability first, so that, eventually, once it’s dry, they’ll move onto the Wii U. Daniel Gonzalez They should be focusing on both rather than just one. If they are going to keep the Wii U on the side, then I question why they even released the Wii U in the first place. That’s rather counterproductive. matthew garcia I’m not sure how this works cuz I’m no pro at this but did nintendo initially produce wii u ‘ s according to wii sales numbers cuz if they did I can see them losing alot of money for over producing a console that isn’t selling to well Yen I doubt it. First week of Wii U’s release America was only allocated something around 500,000 units. The Wii sold 600,000 in the first week. Daniel Look at the ps4 soon to match wiiu numbers matthew garcia Only In japan. Ps4 is Killin it everywhere else Daniel Gonzalez PS4 and Wii U down in sales? Say it isn’t so?! This doesn’t come as a surprise as handhelds rule Japan. Looks like despite the drops of PS Vita and 3DS, Vita is still on top. For those who like combining different products,3DS and LL are at 32,038. We don’t want you to lose it and pound your keyboard keys to show us how angry you are with never ending caps. 504HotBoy They’re sales are down mainly cause they don’t have the software that appeal to that market. Which sucks, Japanese developers need to get back on their A game with the console market. Isn’t the 3DS and 3DS LL the same thing, just different sizes? Kind of like they have bigger and sleeker versions of hardware? If so, it’s not a different product, it’s the same product, it’s just some people buying the bigger model and some buying the smaller model. Rinslowe I think in Japan it’s not just a matter of taxation but mostly to do with whats been happening before every major title release… Looks like Kart is going to be just as popular in Japan as the rest of the world, as people hold off for Nintendo’s inevitable deals there. Wii U is certainly in a rut image wise. I seriously think Nintendo needs to wake up to that. But again with Kart, it’s obvious EAD 1 has taken the platform very seriously. As it looks set to be the best in the series yet on more than one level. In fact all titles coming from Nintendo first and second party this year fit that category. Having said all that, if E3 doesn’t hold some definitive information on those titles, a decent reveal of Zelda U and Miyamoto’s new IP. Well then Wii U 2014 looks a lot like it did last year… Honestly, Nintendo should just give their branding and marketing over to Disney already and get their public image back… Hell a Nintendo land section in one of Disneys theme parks with Wii U ride specific bundles for sale in the rides exit shops would do more for them than what they’re doing now. Maybe a bit late for that one… Daniel Gonzalez Hmmm…I wouldn’t mind if Disney even bought Nintendo off. Both share the same vision considering they both target a large demographic. Plus their marketing certainly would improve Nintendo’s image. It worked out quite well with Marvel. Their movies appear to gross far more than they did during the pre-Disney era. I think it would work out fine so as long as Nintendo can operate independently in terms of game development. Rinslowe I don’t think Disney would benefit from such a buy-off, neither would Nintendo. But Disney knows it’s branding in all disciplines. Nintendo would definitely benefit from a cooperation of some sort there… Daniel Gonzalez I don’t know if it would surely benefit them, but it certainly wouldn’t hurt them either. While it’s unlikely, the outcome of such a possibility does arouse my curiosity. At the very least, they could partner up in terms of marketing. Disney has a history with Nintendo way back when allowing the Big N to use Disney characters on hanafuda cards. Nintendo has nothing to lose from it. Rinslowe Exactly. Nothing to lose is a great place to start in this sort of position… Zuxs13 Nintendo is already planning an amusement park in Japan. But no they shouldn’t turn their marketing over to Disney. Disney has way too many huge IP’s now to juggle, Nintendo would get lost in the shuffle. Rinslowe IF they’re planning a theme park in Japan, I would humbly suggest them to sign it over to Disney… I don’t think Disney would be at all phased by marketing for Nintendo. They have that area of expertise under their belt like no-one else on the planet… lonewolf Thats called a monopol disney is buying yo many stuff here and there they might fall from to much expansion like what happens with balloons they blow up. Imagine yourself with a hyrule shield and a master sword going in dungeons opening chests (sorry if I misspelled that) that would be a huge competition to disney so they would to change their amusement parks. Rinslowe Then you need to learn more about Disney… Rygar Personally, I think it’s great the Wii U isn’t selling like gangbusters like the PS4 is. The way I see it, the less retards on Miiverse, the better. I got my Wii U and that’s all I care about, and as long as there are a ton of people on MHU, I don’t need much more. Last thing I want is more jackasses having the console. matthew garcia Lol I’m sure Iwata doesn’t share your same idea. I’m sure he would want as many jackasses buying it as possible. Wii u needs the sales badly RennanNT SERIOUSLY? Itawa actually wants to sell Wii U??? Da*n you, Itawa! you had me fooled with that (inexistent) ad campaign…. Rygar I don’t give a flying f**k what Iwata thinks. Call me selfish but I’m getting everything i want out of the Wii U. The franchises I like are being delivered and all the 12 year olds think it’s cool to play PS4 or XBone and that makes Miiverse a much better place. Have you ever been on Xbox Live and PSN? It’s a cesspool of infantile morons. I say keep ’em there. Daniel Gonzalez “Have you ever been on Xbox Live and PSN? It’s a cesspool of infantile morons.” Isn’t that the same type of behavior you’re displaying now? If you’re gonna prove a point about certain gamers on Live and PSN being “infantile morons, ” then it’s in your best interest not to come off as one as well. Lol. Vriska Serket Ok I’m just gonna say something right now a8out online communities. MiiVerse: A mix, of two completely different ends of the spectrum, and not much in8etween of “infantile morons” and people much like (the good, at least) people on this site. X8L: The 360 is ridden with angry kids and immature or gross adults 8y like 60%. However, since the one uses different servers, you actually find MOSTLY decent people on there (presuma8ly 8ecause only adults would 8uy the one) and has 8ecome quite a tolera8le (if not fun) medium. PSN: I would say, and 8y no offense, is somewhat 8land, and has a margin of wanna8e hipsters, 8ut is comprised mostly of “android-user” type people, for lack of a 8etter term. oontz Wow you should be a scientist or something. Rygar I’m willing to bet money most of those on XBL and PSN don’t even know what the word “infantile” means. matthew garcia Well people like u not given a flying fuck acting hard on the Internet won’t help with nintendos console future. Voicing opinions helps with creating change. That’s how microsoft drm policies dropped cuz of many pissed off people. I want nintendo to have a great future so that I can continue enjoying there games. So u just keep on not given fuck cuz u think your so badass lol on the internet Rygar Wow, nice language matthew. You sure you don’t belong on XBL? And how is anything I said acting “badass”? Nintendo’s giving me the games I want, so that makes me “badass”? Huh? Why would I care about overall sales for a multi-billion dollar company which I am not invested in other than buying their console and games? As long as they continue delivering the games (and all signs point to them doing so) I don’t care how many they sell. I was just stating that I don’t want the XBL and PSN kids on there ruining Miiverse. Can you imagine them on MHU? It would be horrible. Satoru Iwata Please understand, we at Nintendo are in talks with EA and will be bought out at the end of 2014. We know this will trouble most Nintendo fans, but Iwata can assure you, that we have your best interests, at heart. Our image is very bad in the market as of now, and we believe that EA will help build that image into something great. We will be moving on from the Wii U after 2014 and will be a portable gaming company, which includes porting our games to mobile. We believe this still help our image and know this is what our real fans want. We thank you for your feedback, and look forward to hearing from you all again. Thank you for supporting Nintendo. Vriska Serket Hahahahahahahaha Lil J Moore As much as I like to to tease with Magnus. I’m also starting to think Nintendo just doesn’t care about the WiiU. I still have hope, but if they don’t announce at least 7 new WiiU titles at E3 then it’s obvious that they don’t care about the WiiU. Rinslowe Would 5 also qualify or is 7 the magic no’? 😛 Lil J Moore 5 would be great. I’m overexaggerating a bit with 7. but the way I see it. We need some good titles and new unannounced ones. Not X, Bayonetta 2, Smash Brothers, Hyrule Warriors,. We know about these already. We need something new. Rinslowe True. We need miyamoto’s new IP. Fast Racing Neo, which btw was announced an age ago… Zelda U is the most obvious. But if they even let Monolith Soft off the chain a little and allowed them to talk in depth about X, that would be something. There’s so much to discuss in a title like X it’s ridiculous that after so long we’re still practically in the dark on it… lonewolf Amd what if monolith soft doesnt want to say anything about their game and not nintendo keeping a chain on them. When you look at some things you should look them from every anhle possible. Rinslowe You could well be right… But knowing Nintendo like we all do (lets face it, we’ve all been gaming with Nintendo for years right?) this is exactly how they play it. I’m certain also that any studio like Monolith Soft that does such a great job at their specialist genres, would be keen to share more with the world about what they’re working on – and after so long. lonewolf Well people are changing and with that game companies as well. Rinslowe Only, no-one could say with a straight face that Nintendo has changed tact since last generation. Recent months have only confirmed that they haven’t changed much at all… oontz “There’s so much to discuss in a title like X it’s ridiculous that after so long we’re still practically in the dark on it…” This is so true. They should be building massive hype around the upcoming games and we barely get a whisper. Magnus Eriksson I have a strange feeling that Fast Racing Neo is going to be renamed into a classic Nintendo brand. They are very secretive about it… F-Zero? Rinslowe Nah…. I think everyone is being secretive because Nintendo have gone all micro manager on their partners content. It’s the only logical reason why only Sakurai has been sharing and coincidentally it just happens to be “Smash”… They obviously don’t see how having multiple projects open to the consumer is a good thing. And not the same as releasing titles in conflict with each other. I’m sure Shin’en wouldn’t mind having F-Zero under their belt though… 2Макс2 8 is the luckiest number for Japanese. So 8 games would be enough 😉 Magnus Eriksson This is what we will get: 1. Bayo2, 2. X, 3. SmashU, 4. Fast Racing Neo (F-Zero?), 5. something built around the Mario&DK demo we saw recently, 6. and maybe a Zelda (that will be released in the end of Wii U and beginning of a new Console, like they did with TP). My guess is that Yarn Yoshi was discontinued, otherwise it would have been here now. Maybe they will throw out a new Mario 2D title too, just because its quickly made. My guess is that Smash is delayed to have stuff on E3, and thats not a good sign. They will probably use some time on Mario Kart aswell, just as they did with the Zelda WW last year. I would like to see Metroid, Zelda, Star Fox and a new IP, but thats not going to happen. InterTreble Actually, I can’t see any PS4 game in Top 20, and the console sales are at the same level of Wii U. What a shame, uh? Sony’s lies are not enough to boost sales in Japan, as it happens in US and Europe. “Bye bye PS4, see you when there are *really next gen* games, not only beautiful words” said Sony’s motherland. matthew garcia I guess japan is saying bye bye to wii u also. Only seems 3ds and vita are doing good there. Let’s me know japan Is a handheld market and not console. Japan is just a tiny percentage of ps4 sales. Ps4 is selling to good in the rest of the world for japan to even matter InterTreble Wii U has Just Dance in 5th position, at least, PS4 none. MGS5 has sold pretty well… on PS3! People know it is the same game, same quality, same gameplay… So, why in the hell I must buy a PS4 and spend 500$ for a game?! No reason. This is the fault of millions of people buying a PS4 NOW, at full price, with no games, no exclusive, only lies and delays. I’ll repeat, NOW. This is what Japanese people think about PS4. It’s what comes from the numbers above. Nothing else. Josie the Sketcher Oh well! You win some, you lose some. I see no interesting games on the PS vita but that’s my taste of gaming. Actually it won’t be surprising if PS3 surpasses the PS4 in Japan next week. Josie the Sketcher I still play with my PS2 🙂 Mortal Kombat Deception Konquest mode. Great game!
