Over the next few months the Wii U will be getting tons of indie titles. While we haven’t had a Nintendo Direct to officially announce these titles yet, there’s a list of over 100+ indie games that have aspirations to be released on the Wii U at some point over the next year. One of those titles is Ittle Dew, a tongue-in-cheek puzzle game from developer Ludosity that fans of the Legend of Zelda series will likely love.

The game takes inspiration from Zelda in a humorous way and some of the puzzles are pretty devious in later levels. You can check out the trailer above to get an idea of how the game plays on the Wii U and some of the puzzles that the game features. The game was originally supposed to debut on the Wii U during the 2013 holiday season according to Ludosity’s website, but it looks like that release has been pushed back.

We’ll let you know when more information about the release of the game has been announced.

I think it looks really cool, the artstyle is handdrawn and it steals stuff from Zelda in a funny way.

nah ill pass, if it was actually zelda the same way then i’d be for it…

Had this been a mobile game, you know you would have a problem with this looking too much like Zelda.

    • Actually, Ittle Dew has been available on Android and iOS for a few months now.

Played it on Steam. It’s quite a charming game and enjoyed it’s humor.

And how long have we known it’s coming to Wii U? A year?

Ha. Link is a blonde boy in green who looks like a girl and this hero is a blonde girl in green who looks like a boy. I wonder if that was intentional.

    • You betcha. The game has a wonderful sense of humor. 🙂

Um, it looks interesting. I like the puzzles-and-dungeons style it has. Yep, this might be a buy for me.

I’ll buy it when it’s on sale 🙂

I bought it for the iPad and it does a decent job there. It’s been around on Steam as well for quite some time. It’s not really a rip-off, more like a love letter to the Zelda franchise created by some Indie-developers. It offers quite an interesting game structure that feels more like a completely mad ALTTP-MOD. There are quite bad Nintendo-clones out there but I don’t believe this is one of em.

If I would play it on the WiiU is another question, but … yeah I guess it should be fun. But in terms of scale it might be a better fit on mobile devices and handheld consoles.
