During Monday’s Nintendo Direct, Nintendo of America confirmed that the company would have a big presence at this year’s IndieCade festival in Culver City, CA this year. They’ll also be hosting a panel for indie game developers on the steps needed to bring their works to the Nintendo eShop both for the Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS. According to Steve Singer, Nintendo of America’s vice president of licensing, some of the titles that will be showcased are the best indie developers have to offer.

The Wii U and Nintendo 3DS games showcased in this year’s Nintendo IndieCade booth represent the cutting edge of creativity and innovation for indie game development. They also represent some of the highest rated and most respected games currently being produced. Nintendo is embracing developers who are extremely passionate, letting them freely harness the tools available on Nintendo platforms to create fantastic and unique experiences. We are helping independent developers bring their creative visions to life and into consumers’ hands to enjoy.”

Wooden Sen ‘sey on WiiU and Shantae on 3DS for me, can’t wait to see more of these Indie titles

    • I’m excited about Unepic and Teslagrad myself. Both titles look to be excellent.

      • Madmagican

Personally I’m most excited about Shovel Knight 🙂

  • Zuxs13

See now this is a lot of games, and This is where Nintendo has been making great strides. I hope they keep making it easy for these guys to create games and that WiiU/3DS owners embrace them.

  • Laud

Speaking of indie games… Here’s a model my team recently created for our upcoming game.

We’re going to kickstart once we’ve ironed out some stuff and can provide some awesome material to show.

    Get excited my friends..

    • derty

      Already looks good 😀

      • Laud

Thanks, this isn’t finished product I just wanted to show you guys something so you can see that I wasn’t joking about my team working on a game. 😛

    • Madmagican

So uh… is this like some kinda metal coffin or a gauntlet or what?

      • Laud

Can’t tell you what it is, you’ll find out when you play the game. (That is.. if it gets funded and all that..)

        • Madmagican

Can you at least say that this is in the art style of the game?

          • Laud

As the director of the game I’ve decided to give my artists full creative control when it comes to art.

However, in the end it’s my choice so we’re trying lots of different styles. I will say that it must have a gritty, dirty but easy to distinguish look. In other words, there will be little to no prop reuse in this game.

Quality is the name of the game, right? 😛

          • Madmagican

Sounds like you’re trying to make the best game possible and I respect you for that 🙂

    • andrewjcole

Do you have a site? What’s the game gonna be about?

      • Laud

It’s going to be a psychological horror game.

We don’t have a site yet but once we work out the kinks and create a presentable concept we’ll let the Udaily people know.

This game is being designed with Wii U in mind. 😛

        • Merrfn

Sounds interesting. Any storyline developed yet?

          • Laud

Yeah, I’m writing the story for this game. It’s a very.. how should I say it.. The story has a lot of depth so be prepared to think. It’s definitely not a mindless game.

          • Merrfn

Dark and twisted? Makes you think about the horrible things that are happening and you are doing?

          • Laud

Perhaps.. I can’t tell you much 😛 but it is definitely a game meant for adults or intelligent teens.

It’s going to have a very ambitious gameplay style. All I can say is that you gotta wait and see. I’m just trying to do my best to get some publicity for when we do begin the kickstarter, that way we have more people checking it out.

This is not going to be an easy journey, that’s for sure.

          • Decker Shado

Psychological horror? Wii U? Count me in.

          • Laud

            Yup. 🙂
I hope we get enough publicity to make it.. I’m gonna need all of you to help out, if you want of course. Any publicity is appreciated, I’ll let you guys know when I’m ready to put it up in about a week or two.

          • CMB

            Good luck man

          • Laud

    • Ducked

      Looks like a shaving kit

      • Laud

Ha. 😛 I can’t tell you guys what it is, too much info.

I can definitely confirm that it is infact, not a shaving kit.

        • Ducked

Wait I’m seeing a tuxedo now lol

  • Josiah Parsons

Never heard of most of these, but I’m always excited for indie support.
