Earlier this week we told you that Nintendo plans on launching its Miiverse for mobile app some time in May. There’s no word on whether this rollout includes both Android and iPhone, but we do have a shot of the Miiverse available on the iPhone. As you can see it looks pretty… iPhone-ish, similar to how many iPhone reddit or Twitter apps look.

Users who access the Miiverse from their mobile phone will be able to like, comment, and carry on discussions while on the go, which is certainly a great way to gain exposure. We’ll keep an eye out for any Android screenshots and keep you posted.

    Alright….I dig it.

  • Poor Miiverse, looks so ugly… LOL

    • Nintedward

      What ? STFU.

    • beerkin

  • If you pay attention ( and if that picture isn’t fake) it’s actually a webapp, not a native iPhone app which means the android version would look exactly the same

    • Chris Aita

Yeah, they said initially it will be on a Website for both Desktop/Laptop and Mobile. They did confirm at the Pre E3 Nintendo Direct last year that there will be a Smartphone App for Miiverse as well.

    • Linskarmo

I didn’t catch that before. Good observation.

    • Lazara the Last

They told us that they would release Miiverse for browser (mobile and pc versions) before the smartphone app ^^

  • tomtank91

It’ll definitely be on Google devices because it’s the most popular

  • Zelly Jeffers

    Gimme! Gimme now!

  • David

It’s doomed, the Wii U is doomed.

    • tomtank91

Your obviously bored at home with no life, I feel sorry for you. (^_^)

      • Jamaal

        true very true

    • WiiUltra

Oh my god! The Wii U is doomed! The world is ending everybody!! RUN!

    • Nintendude

Congratulations! You’re the 63,987,613th person to say that!

  • tomtank91

Nintendo will make it look decent so there’s no worries

  • Jamaal

Zorbo85 is just embarrassed he doesn’t have a Wii u.I’m not trying to be a troll and say Nintendo is the best I’m saying Microsoft Sony and Nintendo all have pros and cons but i like Nintendo more than the other two companies.People have to defend there favorite gaming company every once in while but some people like Zorbo85 defend there company overly too much

  • Mickey Mouse

So there’s no actual app to download and install, it’s web browser based on smartphones and other mobiles. I was always led to believe it was a standalone smartphone app as well as web browser compatible.

    • Lazara the Last

There will be an app, but if I’m not wrong, it’s supposed to be released after the browser based version 😉

    • Alienfish

Thank you for being the one to share what we all are always thinking in the back of our minds.

  • Linskarmo

Looks great! Hopefully it works with just iPods too. I would be surprised if it didn’t.

  • Adam Baker

Wish you could draw pictures and share them via the app. Thats the main draw for me on miiverse. But just pure gaming discussion will suffice for now. Sony should create something similar to miiverse rather than rely on facebook (which the wii u can also do thru its best in class web browser) for social interactions

    • sharlo galmo

nintendo confirm that you can draw and join community’s with your phone.

      • JumpMan

        WHAT!? WHEN?!

      • Adam Baker

  • Eli Braden

That is just safari, not an actual app.

  • I am just hoping that the only way to sign up for Miiverse is on Wii U and 3DS and then connect your account to the phone, as I don’t want to see Playstation and Xbox fanboys making bogus accounts to spam Miiverse on their phones.

    • D.M.T

Never thought of that. I just told my friend, who doesnt own a Wii U, to make an account once its available on PC. I hope it’s not possible because that means that Nintendo haters can make accounts to troll everyone. Can you imagine a loser like sithWiiU on Miiverse? Ugh…

    • Qwerty Uiopasd

you need a nintendo network id, and you need to have a wii u for that, so no problem

  • uPadWatcher

Miiverse app on iPhone?! Now I’ve done seen everything. But two thumbs up for Nintendo!!!!!!

  • Jizz Beard thePirate

The real question is… Can you draw on it when its on your phone?

    • WiiUltra

Wouldn’t that be harder? I thought about it and you would need a stylus for your IPhone and the screen is so small compared to the gamepad. Idk, I think I would prefer the gamepad.

      • Bob Singh

You can’t use a stylus on an iPhone. it has a capacitive screen.

        • WiiUltra

If you didn’t know they do make stylus/pens for capacitive screens. Look them up. Apple even sells some from their website haha.

          • Bob Singh

cool! i never knew knew that. Thanks for the info

  • Neilandio

Miiverse should allow us to link our facebook/twitter accounts to it so what we post on miiverse also gets posted on facebook and twitter.

    • gimpcell

No, it does not and I hope never does. I want my Wii U to communicate with other Wii U/sers via Miiverse. None of this facebook, twitter stuff. It is for gamers about games they own. I’m glad it will only be available to Wii U owners.

      • Neilandio

It would still be exclusifve for wii u owners. What you post on miiverse you can also post on facebook and twitter but not the other way around.

        • gimpcell

I understand but, players focusing on comments and tweets will draw them away from Miiverse. I like how it is set up right now: out with the old in with the new. New games on top of list with new posts on top and then comments stack old to new. I’m sure it will change but, please no facebook, twitter, youtube. Leave that to the games if implemented.

  • Great another IoS app >__< but not for Windows Phone? Sorry no offense intended to IoS and Android, but those are the exact OS's I will never use, why not? Because everyone uses them, using a windows phone OS I still feel a little unique atleast 😉

  • Jeffery02

Android or iPhone? Looks iPhone-ish? Are you kidding me? This is NOT an app. See the address bar? How about the search, back, forward, or new tab sections? This is clearly browser based thus you could probably access this on your computer as well. Maybe they’ll release apps later, but for now, this is not that.

  • TheImaj

    Windows Phone 8 ftw..

    • Bob Singh

      right on!!!

  • Møhåmmęd Jårmøn

Yes!!!! Proud owner of WiiU and iPhone 5!!

    • bizzy gie

Glad to here about the Wii U. Sorry to hear about the iPhone 5.

  • JG

This may be a method to indirectly save screen shots etc…

  • dgallo911

seriously, i couldnt think of a worse “app” to have on my phone…..its nice to see that instead of wasting resources on making games for their new system they r focusing on shit like this……..

  • bizzy gie

Drawing is going to be hell on these itty bitty iPhones. A phone like the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (comes with a stylus) would be perfect for this. The screen is 5.5 inches so there’d be plenty of room. I don’t think Apple supports styli and the third party styli are rounded so precise drawing is a no go.

I wonder how that’ll play out.

    • CChaplin

I don’t imagine you’d be able to draw on the mobile app, the point of the drawing functionality is to promote the use of the GamePad, the way I see it. But you never know.

  • Wait… that doesnt look like an app, it looks like the internet iphone app (Safari). But i gotta say its the first time Nintendo has went mobile so i guess its a really great for a first try.
