We’ve known for some time that Black Forest Games planned on bringing Giana Sisters to the Wii U, but today they’ve finally got a release date for the game. It’ll be hitting the Wii U eShop on September 5th, making it a full circle release for all consoles as the game was previously released on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 after a successful Kickstarter. The game will retail for $14.99. Having played the PC version of the game I can say that it’s a great little game for those of you who enjoy old school platformers, as some of the puzzles are a bit challenging. The developer has promised an easier mode for those who felt the original was too challenging, so there’s always that if you played the game previously but didn’t care for the difficulty level. local_offer black forest games giana sisters twisted dreams Nintendo wii u stars Further Reading F-Zero X gets updated on Wii U to fix control New Zelda Breath of the Wild trailer and game Super Mario Maker Wii U vs 3DS comparison (vi Get Ocarina of Time on 3DS for only $14 New teaser site for Zelda: Breath of the Wild released How to track NES Classic Mini stock in time for Christmas SGTMAR Everything was cool until I read “puzzles” Elem187 Imagine that, platformers with puzzles…. what is this world coming too? Btw, you might want to steer clear of Rayman Legends, I hear there is a fair amount of puzzles in it. Deezy Zelda OOT was a puzzling game too you know. Derk A 2D platform game where you collect gems…. how original… Baum 「ツリー」 It’s a remake and the original thing is pretty old so I could imagine, that it’s actually been one of the first platformers with that kind of stuff. The main feature (switching between two dimensions/the sisters) is really unique though, wich makes your comment even more senseless. Derk There is nothing unique about switching between 2 dimensions… A lot of modern games use dimension switching…. Here are a few =================================================== Quantum conundrum Zelda Twilight princess Zelda Link between worlds Super Paper Mario FUN FACT :::: Nintendo almost sued these people because this game was too similar to Super Mario Bros. david jarman No they pressured them that they would take legal actions on the original game in 1987 call The Graat Giana Sisters if they didnt pull it from markets. Cause the first level is almost identical. david jarman Oops a better pic! jay Hey!! I remember that game!! Brandon Betlej your just now saying that? Elitepwnsface Collecting anything really. Coins, rings, shards, ect. Lots of games with collecting… Grulnork What does it matter if it’s not original. Not everything has to be original and even if a game is original it borrows a lot still, that’s how video games work. I also rather have a lot fun games who copy from each other, then a few original games. This opposition towards copying is rather odd. Copy rights are only beneficial to the companies that make a product to maintain a monopoly. Every consumer should be happy with more good products, monopoly isn’t good for the consumer. Derk Some games haven’t changed much since the 1980s… I’m not buying these old side scrolling games anymore but I don’t care what you do… The 2D perspective of these platform games just isn’t appealing … Have you ever noticed how these types of games are usually priced at $10-20? That is a good indicator of the games worth. In the early days, 2D graphics were the best that they could achieve… If they had been capable of 3D then they would have been doing that… Nowadays we have the technology but people are just copying off of old games, porting, or remaking them to make a quick buck without investing too much. If they must create a 2D game, then it should be original…. Such as a tower defense game , a dota game, NBA jam, or StarCraft.. To make another platform after there have been hundreds/thousands is kind of an insult. D Moness Already been released in the EU were it sold better then the psn counterpart. audi lover Yep been playing it for nearly 3 weeks in uk Arthur Jarret I thought the game would be shorter than that… but 3 weeks of gameplay is pretty lengthy! – much better than rayman legends in that case, almost equal to W101 audi lover I havent played it every day for 3 weeks like i have with w101 or pikmin, but it has kept me cumming back to it, for the price its def worth it Arthur Jarret Good to know, I felt the demo on PSN was a bit boring – despite looking great. It’s nice to know the full game offers plenty of content and challenge, I’ll pick it up together with TNT racers: Nitro machines edition this thursday! Elitepwnsface is it any good? audi lover its worth the money if you like your platforming and i prefer it to ducktales Magnus Eriksson The easy mode is great for Nintendo gamers as small children might feel normal is a bit challenging. 🙂 Daniel Gonzalez I have it on PC. It was worth the money and has a lot of surprises. I’d recommend it if you’re a big fan of platformers. andrewjcole What’s with all the downvotes? Because you got it for PC? Daniel Gonzalez Probably. If that’s the case, did they read the article that says Ashley has it on PC as well? Then again, I have a few enemies on here so not surprising. All in all, they’re just numbers that aren’t that relevant much to me. howling_wolf1334:[ Mmm… Very suspicious… Daniel Gonzalez Care to elaborate on what is suspicious? 😛 Merrfn It is suspicious you are illuminati 😛 Daniel Gonzalez . Daniel Gonzalez Reallly… Merrfn Don’t think I see that eye and pyramid hidden in your profile picture. It is your nose and your eyeball. ILLUMINATI DEVIL WORSHIPER! Daniel Gonzalez Psssh… Merrfn I SPEAK THE TRUTH YOU SATANIC WITCH! DIE! DIE Jon I am looking at getting it on the Wii U, the trailer for the game has sold me 😀 Daniel Gonzalez Good. It’s a quality title and I enjoyed it. 🙂 Magnus Eriksson Did you play the original too? Daniel Gonzalez Nah. Since I was Nintendo only as a child, never got the chance to play it. I know that the original was a clone of Super Mario Bros. Magnus Eriksson They had a c64 feature on Wii VC. I hoped we was going to see it there, but sadly we didnt. JBeauregard Talk about horrible timing for release dates. 2 days before it comes out?! Come on, Nintendo, you gotta be smarter than this. Am I interested in the game? Yes, but what about people like me who do some budgeting based on release dates? I’ll be waiting on this one while my budget catches up. Michael DeVore Nintendo isn’t the publisher so they don’t have direct control over the release date. They can hold it back for certification, but the publisher controls the final release date. JBeauregard I could be wrong, but I doubt Nintendo has NO control over release dates. If that were true, Nintendo would find out at the same time as the general public. And if that is the case, I doubt any console would want to put a release date 2 days from the announcement. That goes against building up some excitement for the game. Michael DeVore So you think that a publisher has no control over the release date and that Nintendo, MS, and Sony can dictate the release. Really Nintendo can only stop a game from being released by rejecting certification. They can’t say when it’s going to be released unless they’re the publisher. They were probably asked when can you get it ready for the eShop after certification. Nintendo probably said 2 days at the earliest, and that’s exactly what they picked. Yea it’s a mistake if you’re a big budget publisher, but I’m fairly sure this isn’t a game that would ever have a big budget marketing campaign. Elem187 Nintendo only controls the release dates for games they are publishing. They don’t dictate release dates to third parties. When they receive the code from the developer, they do their certification on it and say “we can put this game on the eshop on September 5th the earliest, did you want a date later than that?” david jarman This game has been announced months ago on other sites and on a direct. Nintendolife has already reviewed it. JBeauregard Game was announced, but the release date wasn’t. Arthur Jarret I always keep a spare 30 bucks for psn wednesdays and e-shop thursdays, myself. BE PREPARED FOR THE UNEXPECTED! Truthteller Powerful games keep coming to the Wii U! Magnus Eriksson Are you here to talk about homosexuals again? Good that you are working on getting contact with your own fears. Rich Garriques k your either a big retard or very homophobic , i mean what was the relevance of your comment. Magnus Eriksson nope, im not homophobic. this guy is. Zorpix Seeing how I can’t run this game on my PC, really looking forward to the Wii U version Wayne Beck Looks great, but 15 dollars feels a little steep. My understanding is there are only three worlds/chapters/levels, whatever you want to call them. Does anyone know roughly how long this game is? Platformers are probably the only kind of game where length actually matters to me. Don’t get me wrong, the game looks awesome, but I have to buy Rayman this week and who know what surprise indie is going to come out next week. jodahr I bought it on steam. Until yesterday it cost only 3,75 €. It is somehow a tricky jump and run and it’s difficult to collect all the different “coins” while trying not to die :D…I just have played 4 levels until now, but there are of course more and I think also some different worlds. Since it is quite hard you will take long to complete all the stuff in the game. the 4th level is already super hard to get all the coins. And there are different modi like time -attack, scorer-run and so on. I would buy it again. I think it’s great. I really like difficult jump and run games. Bought rayman too. Also great until now. especially co-op mode with my girlfriend. The usage of the gamepad is perfectly implemented. Couldn’t be better. Arthur Jarret Meanwhile, in the region that actually matters for developers (you know, europe) the e-shops will get the following update: Wii U eShop games: – TNT Racers – Nitro Machines Edition (€7,99) – Spot The Differences: Party! (€5,00) Wii U Virtual Console – Breath of Fire II (Super NES, €7,99) Nintendo 3DS eShop Retail downloads – Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan (€39,99) – MYST (€19,99) Nintendo 3DS eShop – Darts Up 3D (€2,99) – Mahjong 3D – Essentials (€2,99) 3DS virtual console Pinball: Revenge of the Gator (Gameboy, €2,99) Wii Virtual Console SENGOKU 3 (NeoGeo, 900 Wii points) andrewjcole They’re still doing Wii Virtual Console and Wii Ware??? Arthur Jarret Yup, a new neo geo beat ’em up or fighter is released every week! Magnus Eriksson Hope they get NEO GEO on Wii U VC too. Would love to play some of the fighters on the pad 🙂 Arthur Jarret That would be pretty awesome. I’d love for them to bring NeoGeo games to 3DS too. Fighters & Brawlers are great to play on the go. (Public transportation makes me aggressive) andrewjcole Does it support online play? Daniel Gonzalez Single player. Jon Def buy for me 🙂 I love the art style in the game and it looks to be a great challenge 😀 Gooby Anyone want to drop any spare cash to Ghost Song: A Journey of Hope so it can be on the Wii U go to kick starter it has almost reached its goal http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1192311215/ghost-song-a-journey-of-hope?ref=category Grulnork Good game, got it on PC.
