Ghost Recon Online will be coming to the Wii U in early 2013. Ubisoft’s online multiplayer shooter will be coming to the PC as well as a free-to-play title with micro-transactions, while the Wii U version will be a more straight-forward game. Ubisoft just released a new pack of Ghost Recon Online screenshots, and we’re pretty sure the Wii U version will look very similar. The game is developed by Ubisoft Singapore, who previously stated that they will complete the PC version first, then shift work to the Wii U version. For more on the game, check out our complete Ghost Recon Online Wii U page.

  • Nintedward

well this looks like the wiiu’s ‘shooter of choice’ , count me sold .

    • Christopher

Its (hopefully) free so you probably won’t need to buy it on Wii U

      • Christopher

What I meant by that is that the Wii U version might also be for free so you don’t have to buy a copy, instead you just install it from the eShop

        • Gabe Hoffman

More then likely since I heard this will be Free to Play and Iwata has said Wii U will support Free to Play games.

        • Nintedward

good thinking sir !!! i hope this is the truth.

          • u mad bro

ghost recon online for me please :3

    • theaquacharger

I wouldn’t say so unless you want to spend an hour in a single match to get your EXP. Since you have to go through 2 rounds and each round is 30 minutes.

  • AO1JMM

I played the beta on PC and was not impressed at all. Maybe this version will change my mind. except for the fact that it is not free.

    • joe

it’ll come with more features and all the dlc included, worth paying for I’d say

      • theaquacharger

but there is no DLC in the PC version.

        • Pachter Jr.

          go cry me a river

  • Wils81

What’s with all the poor textures and aliasing? 😐

    • relaxingbedo

Well idk it could be a early dev version. :/ Or the devs were lazy :/ Which I hope isnt true

    • joe

these are pc screens. so it was probably running on a mid range gaming pc without aliasing on

      • RichxGlov

        *anti aliasing

        • joe

          thanks my bad

      • theaquacharger

Nah if you played it that’s how it looks. For the ammount of resources the game uses it does not look good and typically has bland stages. Also I don’t have a mid-range PC so don’t try that on me. I run BF3 max settings v-synched at 60 FPS with 64 players on a server.

    • link 5

They said in the article that they aren’t sure if its for wii u for all we know that could be for the 360

      • Wildman

this game is being developed for the PC and Wii U only.

    • theaquacharger

No that’s just how it looks.

  • Maverick-Hunter

*yawns* you know what if 3rd party only has point and shoot games to offer, I don’t mind not having 3rd party support.

  • Mid-core Gamer

Wasn’t Ghost Recon Online for the PC released on August 15th ’12 in North America and Europe?

    • Macarony64

      • rego

no, only the open beta was.

  • Nintendude

Visuals are OK, but I’m not impressed. And I’m not sure if I really need that many shooters on the Wii U.

    • LyingTuna

But, as you know, Nintendo is trying to appeal to “hardcore” gamers. I have friends who are “hardcore” gamers, and they only play shooters. Metroid Prime doesn’t count, according to them. Of course, I’d love to watch them get lost in a metroid game…

      • Melk

I’m sorry, but hardcore gamers are NOT obsessed with shooters, so of course your friends are not “hardcore gamers”.

      • Nintendude

Do it. Bright a Wii over to their house and watch them play a Metroid game on the VC or one of the Prime games. Or Other M. Just do it, it will be hilarious.

      • ThunderBlaze78

I showed Super Metroid to a hardcore gamer friend. Only some minutes passed and he was already saying: “Isn’t there Fast Travel”?

  • Gamer

Maybe Ubisoft can send Assassins Creed 3 to Ubisoft Singapore for completion. The Singapore branch seems to grasp the concept of completing games for one system first, then working on one for the other unhindered. Am still mad about today’s earlier announcement for AC3 for the Wii U.

    • theaquacharger

That’s a terrible way to run a business and have to waste multiple ammounts on marketing.

  • AKA-Link77

    . . . . . . .Random Question. . .
    ↑↑↑↑How do i get a face?

    • joe

you talk to Koh the face stealer

      • RichxGlov

That dude better come back in season 2 of Korra…

        • shadowfan2z

I can’t wait for season 2! That show is the best! 😀

          • Pachter Jr.

well it is titled Book 2: Spirits. Probably going to be in the spirit world

          • Wildman

            Oh my stuff it’s awesome!

But to answer the question, AKA-Link77, you first must go to and set up an account.

          • AKA-Link77

            off-topic -_-

    • Nintedward

      i dont know . i want a new face too .

      • RichxGlov

        So does Slender Man

all jokes aside… just sign up at Gravatar to get a picture.

    • Grodus

Oooookaaay, than. *walk away slowly, and maybe he’ll ignore me*

    • shadowfan2z

Sign up at gravatar. I automatically got one because I’m also a member of My Nintendo News.

      • AKA-Link77

        oh okay thanks every1.

  • Grodus

I’m not really a shooter fan, but the more games the better!

    • RichxGlov

I agree, but look where that got the Wii… too much shovelware. :/

  • Thisguy

I don’t mind it. It looks good, may be fun to give a try. Picture how it will use the Wii U gamepad though. That’s gotta be fun.

  • Wii u crazer

    sounds pretty cool

  • Garzard

Great! I wanted this on my PC but my system wasn’t up to it. But what’s up with all the PC tittles on the Wii U?

    • EvanescentHero

*hopes for Steam capabilities on the Wii U*

  • Roedburn

Doesn’t look like my type of game. Before people start jumping on the “maturity” train here let me say that I don’t have a problem with “mature” games in general. I just prefer more fantastical, adventure type games, not the modern war tons o’ guns games.

  • chito120

    Sup guys

  • Pachter Jr.

this is gonna be awesome. I love the wii u and nintendo. GO NINTENDO!!!

    • joesatmoes

sorry bro but your name says othr wise.

  • Christopher

Looks pretty good to me, I like the game during beta and I can’t wait to get it on Wii U

  • 7Down

I don’t know anymore, the game does look good, but for some reason I completely lost my interest to it once I saw some gameplay video where a designer and producer, I think that’s what they were, played it together, it looked clumsy, yet they didn’t seem to have any troubles with the game, I might give it a try once I’ve made up my mind which games to get at first for the U

    • joesatmoes

      that was in the beta

  • Jonas

im not a graphics guy but this does not really blow my mind.

  • joesatmoes

This, along with BF4, Black Ops 2, AC3, Batman,FIFA 13 and ZombiU. All the games, that are in my opinion, hardcore games, as well as the Nintendo hardcore games, SSBB, new Super Mario Bros. U, Mario Kart, 3D Mario (not a must but i thoroughly enjoyed SMG) and (possibly) Zelda. I AM GETTING THE WII U. I want it so badly!

The only problem is that R* games has said that they wont make GTA V on Wii U, so they either watch as their company falls behind, or not b a total dumass company and make it!

  • 0soul

    This looks quite nice.

  • samuDC

If wii u will support free to play games then i hope EA will bring battlefield heroes to the wii u.
