According to comments made by GameStop COO Tony Bartel, the rumors surrounding the launch of new consoles from Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo are more real than ever. In a recent presentation at GameStop’s Investor and Analyst Day, Bartel said that his company was not fully accounting for VR and any new hardware that launches in the following months. “Although we have not modeled extensive growth for new innovation in this presentation, we are very pleased to see the introduction of technology like virtual reality and rumored new console launches, some of which seem imminent.” GameStop is one of the largest distributors of games for the United States, so hearing an executive talk about the imminent launches of new consoles definitely lends some weight to the PS4K refresh and Nintendo NX announcement rumors we’ve seen flying around all over the internet. When pressed to give further details if his comment was related to the rumored launch of the Nintendo NX this year, Bartel said “as usual, we know more than we can share.” local_offer Nintendo wii u stars Further Reading Is Nintendo shafting Axiom Verge because of Dan Adelman?
