It’s that time again and this time we’re back with another GameFans podcast, this time discussing Nintendo’s quickly reversed decision to stop the Super Smash Bros. EVO stream, the new Xbox boss Julie Larson-Green, and much more. Mark predicts that no third-party title on Wii U will outsell the Xbox One and PS4 counterparts and Ashley thinks otherwise.

We also have a look at what we’ve been playing for the week, as well as a brief discussion about Pacific Rim and Sharknado! This week has it all, baby!

  • The Clockwork Being

Lol look at the Twitter handles. Out of all of them Mark’s is the simplest one.

    • misterhearn

      Simplicity is my friend.

    • KosmoCrisis

      Whaaat?!? Feel the hate!

  • Justis Bistawros

Watch dogs on wii u should be the best version how ubisoft is going to utilize the gamepad touch screen it should be pretty sick.

    • RoyRelapse

In terms of gameplay, yes !

  • Fred

If Rayman Legends lands on Xbone or PS4 it’ll sell better on Wii U that game was designed with the Wii U in mind, not only the GamePad, but also the fact that it’s very family friendly and the Nintendo base includes a lot of families.

    • Sol Ridgeway

That was kind of the way Da Blob was. Once they made the control sheme to fit PS3 and XB 360 the game became crap.

      • You’re absolutely right about De Blob. I loved the first game on Wii, got the second one on my Xbox and it blew chunks.

  • Tim Chaten

Levelator is your friend – http://www.conversationsnetwork.org/levelator – the audio levels are still a mess 🙁 – GREAT content please work on the production values

    • KosmoCrisis

This is definitely the challenge being the first podcast I’ve ever edited. That link produced 0kb downloads for Mac OSX I’m afraid.

      • Tim Chaten

Oh wow – that software is magic – really does wonders – give this a shot – I just zipped up my Mac copy (works great on Mountain Lion) – have it up on Dropbox for download – should help the audio levels get in sync – takes a while to get into a good workflow for podcasting – mono exports help a bit in my shows – https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1606384/Levelator.zip

        • KosmoCrisis

I found it through CNET. Holy guacamole! I ran Ashley’s track through it and it was literally a day and night difference. Gonna see if I can update this file for you guys if the overall improvement is noticeable.

    • kenny Johnson

I actually think this is the best yet.

      • Tim Chaten

It is getting better, but still not up there to where it should be to be on par with the other shows I listen to – audio quality is key – you can have great content, but only hardcore fans will listen if the audio itself isn’t level and clean

  • kenny Johnson

Volume is much better this time! Thanks!

  • KosmoCrisis

If anyone has a desktop mic they want to send to Mark to get rid of his old popping Logitech headset, send us an email!

    • misterhearn

BOOO! The headset is fairly new. Like two months old. Just not good for podcasting. (sigh)

  • Fred

You can play NSMBU with just a wii mote or just a pro controller you don’t have to use the gamepad

Also, the original Zelda 4 swords was on the GameBoy Advance it was on the same cartridge as A Link to the Past (I owned and loved it), but there was also one called Four Swords Adventures where you had to have a GameBoy Advance and a Link Cable for every player and that was on the GameCube

  • mojack411

I wish I could run any game at 60 fps with my computer. I typically get around 25 fps on high graphics. One day, one day I will get that monster desktop I have always dreamed of. I envy you Ashley in the mean time.

On topic: Thought it was a good podcast. Wasn’t really paying attention to the sound levels since I was listening to it while I was working but they sounded fine to me. Even as a Nintendo fan I understand the need for there to be a devil’s advocate so I appreciate Mark taking that role.

  • Oblivion

I love these podcasts. Keep them coming.

  • KosmoCrisis

OK EVERYONE. I updated the file after running the original WAV tracks through Levelator thanks to the recommendation of WiiUDaily reader Tim Chaten. Re-edited the entire thing as a result fixing what I was too lazy to fix before. The perfectionist in me is much MUCH happier with this production. Give it a listen, share it with you friends, and tell me what you think.

    • Tim Chaten

Thanks! – Will give it a listen – Levelator does wonders – its good to have another podcast I can look forward to

  • Edward

Who heard that NCAA is not renewing its contract with EA Sports? Good hopefully they go to some developer that supports Nintendo. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/9486048/ncaa-not-renewing-contract-ea-sports-video-games

  • AAAkabob

I completely agree that the Wii U will not get the most sales for popular 3rd party games. Also I want EA’s games not for sports but I loved ME and BF but now I don’t plan to support them because of their lack of support for Wii U. When I buy a PS4 I will be sure to get their games used. Also Mark you’re pretty biased which is ok but you let it show too much w/ comments like Nintendo is for kids.

    • Tim Chaten

Sure Nintendo consoles get primarily first party game sales, but I don’t own and won’t have money to afford Sony or Microsoft consoles – so if they don’t release it on Wii U I’m not buying it. I own mostly 3rd party games on my Wii U including Call of Duty, Need for Speed, and about 8-10 more. There are plenty of quality games and I can’t wait for this winter with all of the 1st party releases.

  • Game Wizard

convert to youtube so this can be viewed on wii u

  • Sidney Majurie

Apparently this was the trash Nintendo fans episode so it will be my last. I wish Ashley had a bit more enthusiasm for Nintendo as she is an editor of Wii U Daily, not PC Daily. Just let the Xbox fanboy Chris(?) get away with murder here. He talks as if each fanbase doesn’t have it’s vocal fringe minority.

You’re in the bubble dude. I’d love to debate, or debase you sometime. Attacking Nintendo and it’s fans, the safest thing you can do on the internet. You’re so brave…
