In celebration of Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds being GameSpot’s 2013 game of the year, Nintendo is offering The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition free on the 3DS eShop for a limited time. The promotion will be going on from today until midnight Sunday. You can learn more about the game here.

The game is a special limited edition re-release of the original The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords for the Game Boy Advance with several new levels added. The game was originally released on the eShop from September 28, 2011 to February 20, 2012 to commemorate The Legend of Zelda’s 25th anniversary.

It’s likely that when the promotion is done the game will be removed from the eShop again, and it might be awhile before we see it up again. So you should definitely get it while you have the chance!

Will you be getting this game? Have you already gotten it? Let us know in the comments below!

Awesome! I think we need another four swords instalment now that we don’t need all those pesky link cables.

    • Ace J

ah the good old link cable days lol! such nostalgia.

    • Fred

I’d love a remake of the gamecube’s forgotten 4 swords adventures using Wii U and 3DS!

    • Mr. J

A four swords adventure that has multiplayer aspects to it would be great. For the Wii U I mean

  • Denvy

Got it during my lunch break. Never played it before. Should be good.

  • Doctors Tardis

If only it could link up with wii u

  • Crimsan

And obviously this isn’t an offer made to Europeans. :/ Woo…

  • snowsensei

It’ll be a few more months before I get the 3DS… I hope they bring it back again 🙁

  • CEObrainz

    US only….sigh…..

    • I did not know that. I’m sorry. That is most unfortunate.

    • GuardiansFan

I don’t think this is US only. From what i can tell its Canada as well. I already had it so other than banners showing in eShop i can’t verify by downloading it.

  • Fred

I’ve had it on my 3DS since the 25th anniversary, but I couldn’t get it on my XL. Now my wife and I can FINALLY play together!

  • Miguel Ferreira

What have american did that we europeans didn’t?
Why the hell is this offer only in US?

  • Ducked

Already downloaded it on my 2DS like 100 yearz ago

  • Sdudyoy

Cool, my Brothers got this the first time around, and now that I have my own 3DS I can get it also!

  • LocoBean64

Oh hey I remember this game! It came with A Link To The Past on GBA! Ahh the awesome memories……..of never being able to play it because I didn’t know anyone else with A Link To The Past on GBA x__x

  • Mr. J

I got it last time it came out. It’s pretty fun

  • Skelterz

In england we don’t get gems like this… just rain.

  • darkcreap

Hope this comes to the European eShop too. Nintendo usually has different calendars for Europe and USA. For instance A Link To The Past arrived in VC before for Europe than for the USA. It is almost sure we will get it in Europe a little bit later. I am sure Nintendo knows how to take care of their fans.

  • Wiiluigi

I already got this the first time around. Why not release another Zelda title for free?

  • Hezkore

I’m in Europe, is that why I can’t find this?
