Do You Still Play Wii Games?

We're two years into this generation with the Wii U, but I'm sure some of us haven't forgotten about the past, while others are busy thinking about the present.

If that's too cryptic for you to decipher, the question is simple. Do you still play Wii games?

With all the hype building rapidly around Smash Bros I was going to load Brawl up again, but then when I tried to connect my wii mote I found the batteries had (very kindly I may add) decided to leak, haven't got round to cleaning it out yet either, maybe it's telling me it's time to focus on the future?

I just finished Metroid Prime 3....

Hero mode is a decent challenge, not too hard until you attempt the Boss Rush mode......without using a certain strategy it's frustrating as hell......

The day the Wii died was the greatest day ever and I'm glad that it's-

Wait, The Voice is coming to Wii.

    ****.

(Seriously though, no. I hated the Wii and I'm glad it's not a focal point any longer.)

I only play Xenoblade Chronicles on occasion via emulation in 3x standard resolution so everything looks pretty.

Wish my laptop could do that.
It only handles Brawl in 1080p without any enhancements :/ (2x native resolution would make the game speed slow down)

I feel like I just answered this on VGchartz...but yes. I still have to beat Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword and SMG2, and I wanna give Little King's Story another play.

The main problem I had with Skyward Sword was the imprisoned, every time I built up some momentum I would face the imprisoned and just get immense annoyed at the game.

Well my friends and I were still playing Brawl up until very recently. With the new Smash just around the corner though that doesn't seem very likely anymore.

I have yet to play Metroid Prime 3 which I plan to do when I finish Deus Ex. And I want to try The Last Story, and Pandora's Tower as well so I can say I've played the entire Rainfall Trilogy.

There's a reason to stop playing older consoles, like the Wii? O_o

...but I love several of the games! Just to name two, there's Arc Raise Fantasia and Xenoblade Chronicles. The latter is arguably (and most definitely personally) the best game of last generation! I dun wanna stop

I play on my GameCube more often than I play on my Wii.
To be honest, I think my Wii is stored somewhere in my mom's basement.

...And my GameCube is at my mom's ex's house, but I visit him from time to time.

I use all of my consoles from time to time. In the last couple of weeks I've collected all 120 Power Stars in Super Mario Galaxy 2 (not bothering with Green Stars any time soon) and I've played several ColecoVision titles with my uncle.

I've never really seen the point in abandoning older technology when I have the ability to own both the old and the new simultaneously. Not to mention that there's at least one thousand titles -- there's almost certainly more -- across all my older consoles that I'm interested in picking up and playing, a lot of which cannot be played on newer platforms (unless resorting to unofficial emulation on PC or modified consoles).

Yeah, I still have quite a few VC games on my Wii and I enjoy playing Mario. I don't play much else. Not because I'm against it, but rather because I just hadn't felt like it.

Fired up Arc Rise yesterday, so glad I modded that game, the voices in the english localization is so bad it makes my ears bleed...
-I've only made it to Jada, what do you like most about the game? (I'm trying to figure out if I should finish it or start on Tales: Dawn of the new world.)

No way I'm playing that Wii crap on my shiny, new Wii U. I only play SNES VC games.

It sucks how they make you have to keep going back to fight imprisoned. But it's well worth fighting through it. I don't remember for sure, but it seems like you have to fight him 3 times.

What do I like about Arc Rise Fantasia? Hmm... Sorry, it's been a while since I booted it up. I've kinda been addicted to Xenoblade Chronicles and a lot of Wii U games I've picked up. I do remember that it's a much better experience than Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World.

As much as people complain about the Wii, it certainly had more unique titles than it's competitors, IMO.

No, it had many, many drawbacks, but to me the Wii was a throwback console in a way.

When you played 2600, Odyssey, or SMS or NES, the graphics were shit and the controls were responsive sometimes. You played because... I don't know, you hated yourself?
I 'm being jerkish for a reason... all those consoles I listed above? All fun. (Except Odyssey. GTFO.)

No, you played those because those games were fun. And wierd.

For me, Wii (and Nintendo overall) keeps trying new stuff. New control stuff, new graphic stuff, new everything.

The hate the Gp and Nintendo's approach in general get from A HOLE gamers proves the industry is in a rut.

So of course I still play my Wii games. The Wii tried something different. I respect the hell out of that.

I missed out on everything on the Wii except for Super Smash Bros. Brawl. So now I'm picking up games to enjoy, and currently playing Twilight Princess. Gotta beat Super Paper Mario and Skyward Sword next. Anyone got any recommendations I can add to my backlog?

How much time do you have?

I'll give you two and I bet there'll come plenty from others..

    Zack & Wiki

    Xenoblade Chronicles

(Wario: Shake Dimension, most people either don't know it or forget it so I thought I'd add it, consider it a bonus )

Don't have a limit on time so anything is good. Was actually planning on getting Xenoblade Chronicles sometime after this weekend. I'll look into Zack and Wiki and if that Wario game is like DIY then I'll try to pick that up too.

    DIY?

It's more like the old GB Wario games = 2D platformer.

@ Woody you are a fossil. PS4 is the best thing EVAR!

@Spatial there have been a few threads on this, but first off, congrats! The Wii is certainly worthwhile, IMO.
I would go with Punch Out, No More Heroes, Red Steel 2, Madworld and EXCITEBOTS! and House of the Dead Overkill to get an idea of the vast array of ideas the Wii had. Have fun!

If you want a fantastic Wii game that not enough people have played, hunt down Little Kings Story.

Also, the Wii versions of Pikmin 1 and 2 are well worth it if you haven't played the originals, and worth a comparison if you have.

When I don't have a "new" game to play, I dig into the crate. I always pick up Wii games I missed whenever it makes sense finacially. I like to know, no matter how broke I get, droughts, etc.. I'll always have something new to experience/ entertain myself with

The Back to the Future game on Wii was actually a pretty good point and click adventure. Christopher Lloyd and Michael J Fox reprised their roles, but of course MJF was in a limited capacity. The guy who helped sounded good though.

I'm still playing through Xenoblade Chronicles, lol. There's a couple others I need to finish on my backlog which is also keeping me busy.

I've been playing a bit of Punch Out Wii and Rhythm Heaven Fever. Both are awesome.

Recently bought Tiger Woods 10 (golf games are great on the Wii) so I'll be playing that after I'm burned out of smash (which is unlikely, but always a possibility).

Mostly Brawl but I do bust out some other titles, and there are still some games I want to get.

I skipped the Wii Generation, but with the Wii U having backwards compatability, I'm probably gonna be picking up some used wii games.
