No games made by nintendo since I have most of them and I want to explore out of the box.

I played most of these on other platforms, but I'm sure they're just as good on GameCube.

I haven't played the following, but I've heard very good things about them and they are all on my wishlist:

misswliu81 and Skyward Sword like this.

Just some of the top of my head:

Ikaruga. arcade style spacefighter shooter. Extremely Challenging.
Extreme G III. Future motorcycle racer with co-op and weapons. Awesome.
    Eternal darkness. Duh
Bloody roar: primal fury. High speed fighter
    R.E. remake and zero
Battalion wars. Strategy 3rd person shooter

I'll list more later when i got the time and my library...

Yep. I enjoyed the Xbox version, but, again, I'm sure it's the same experience on GameCube. I'd also recommend all three The Lord of the Rings film tie-ins, though you may have to skip The Fellowship of the Ring as it wasn't released on GameCube.

I'd say it's the same game across PlayStation 2, Xbox and GameCube, but there'd be some slight graphical and performance differences between each version; it's essentially the same as Batman: Arkham Origins, or any other 'multi-plat', on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii U.

I enjoyed them, though I've only beaten the first two on GameCube. If you're enjoying Half-Blood Prince, then I'd probably recommend the GameCube entries if they're cheap, though they're slightly different due to a lack of motion control (which, in my opinion, makes them better games).

one of the best gamecube games ever is eternal darkness. i don't care if it's $50 or something it's still worth it. also check out the matrix game, and killer 7. and timesplitters 2.

I played it on PC a long time ago and found it to be an alright title. I wouldn't pay more than AU$10 for a complete copy, but I also wouldn't lump it into the 'licensed tie-in shovelware' category.

Ok I'm back this is (included the games i listet before) what i recommend as must try\have gc games in no particular order.

Viewtiful Joe, high pace sidescroller action (vj2 is also good)
TimeSplitters 2, fps with great co-op, levelbuilder and controls
starwars rouge leader & Rebel strike, flight combat great co-op
    Killer7, shooter
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, needs no introduction.
    SoulCalibur 2, fighter
Donkey Kong JungleBeat, unique bongo controlled platformer (needs DK bongos but totally worth it, i know this is ninty but often overlooked)
    Beyond Good & Evil, adventure
Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, multiplayer adventure. best with 4 players minimum 2 (imo) need 1 gba + cable pr player

    Geist, fps+
starFox Adventures & Assault (just in case you didn't consider these, technically not nintendo)

Only 4 of the games i have mentioned is no longer in my library...

Tales of symphonia is a must!
Also Fire Emblem, if you like tactics games.

And as already said, should have a look on the RE series from 0 to code veronica, if you havent played yet.
    Eternal darkness also.

Baten Kaitos is a great RPG, you should take a look.

Capcom vs SNK if youre into the old school fight games.

Lord of the rings the third age, ppl seem not to like it very much, but i enjoyed it very much.

007 nightfire was the fps i had most fun on gc.

X-men legends was a graet game also!
