The potato is an extremely useful and versatile food source. While technically a tuber, it’s broadly considered a vegetable. It’s the source of French fries and vodka if nothing else. That’s miles ahead of most veggies right there.

If Woody were a vegetable he’d probably be something like a leek or a rutabaga.

I threw in Sonic Mega Collection the other day. Since I no longer have my old memory card, I decided to start back at the beginning. Sonic 1 is still good, but it’s definitely got some things that didn’t age too well. Apparently this version is based off the MD version so it looks and sounds a bit different. Plus using the GCN controller feels weird, it’s not precise as the Genesis controller, but you can use either the stick or the d pad, so that’s nice.

Sonic 2 completely blows the first game away though. The graphics and music are better and the level design is on a whole different level. The spin dash alone makes this the better game.

Sonic 3 and Knuckles are also on the disc, as well as Spinball, Mean Bean Machine, and the horrible 3D Blast. Plus I think you can unlock Flicky, Ristar and something else.

I’m really looking forward to Sonic Mania.

Railroad Tycoon for the PC. I keep revisiting this. While RT3 graphics are better, I keep revisiting Railroad Tycoon. Simple graphics but great economic engine. The sound was really good then and still is. One of my favorite games of all time.

I played and (finally!) straight up beat Aerobiz Supersonic on the SNES (via emulation) over the Holiday.

Such a fun simulation game and, since RTS/Simulation is by far my favorite genre, I loved every second!

Replayed some LEGO Batman 3. Usually in this thread I try to be positive or at least introspective, but LB3 is still a crap game. I think it’s actually broken in the technical sense. Sometimes the buttons don’t do anything. This is puzzelda taken to a new level. Easily the worst LEGO game I ever played, and now I have a headache and want to lie down.

Why is this game so bad?

I tried to get Wing Commander Phophecy running again, but I died in 2 secs after taking off. Old 166mhz game runs too fast on a 3.8ghz quad core......

What platform (GoG, Steam, old school CD, etc) are you using?

I purchased the complete series from GoG and haven't had any issues running any of their 'modernized' titles.

Just a thought! Plus, you're supporting CD Projekt, one of the most consumer/gamer friendly developers/publishers in the World!

DKTF. Finally beat the triple monkey boss. This is a really good title. I think I bought Sonic Lost World at the same time so I got distracted. I’m not going to 100% percent this game, but I do want to go back and find the hidden routes.

I’m both proud of you and disappointed. Rewind? C’mon, beat it for real. And no, you don’t have to beat it twice, that’s dumb.

The SEGA arcade port is pretty good too BTW.

Donkey Kong Land 2 on the GameBoy via the 3DS. I can appreciate when an 8-bit system has something special to offer and I honestly think Rare did a stellar job here. It's impossible not to compare it to the shining tour de force SNES original, so perhaps it's just the novelty and surprise that they convey if not match it so well.

Good. GNG isn’t the most polished port in the world, but it was almost a launch title for the MD, plus as I understand it Yuji Naka basically programmed it by himself. I like how you can shoot up and down. It’s only about five levels as I recall though.

Just fired up Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze on my Wii U.. Game is still hella fun, even though according to many folks it should’ve been Metroid.

Come to think of it, if/when Retro announces they’re working on another DKC, I doubt there’ll be anywhere near as much backlash this time.

That’s a great game, I popped it back in recently as well.

Gunpei Yokoi, my boy GOT Metroid. Sakamoto does not.

Fantastic Nintendo. Good job. Glad that extra chromosome is working out for you.

Playing Ninja Gaiden 3 from the start. It’s violent and bizarre and too complicated, but I like it overall. Worth a look, childrens!

I'm technically revisiting Xenoblade Chronicles 2, since I beat it and started a New Game Plus.

According to the FBI you are a “person of interest.”

    Don’t leave the country.

Also, you aren’t supposed to be within 500 yards of a school.

Does Trine 2 count as I'm re-visiting it now. It'll be out on Switch soon, I'm sure.

I'm currently playing it on STEAM and it's a thing of beauty. The Wii U version was pretty damned sweet too though.

Yeah, it was. I have it on Steam, too. It looks a little better on PC, but you're missing the touch pad functionality. Not that it didn't look great on the Wii U, too. Trine 2 is one of the few 2D sidescrollers that I love.
