Gotten boring? Na, they've been that way a long time imo.

I've always found them to be a mixed bag, though that's almost entirely due to the fact that I'm just not interested in some of the information being presented. In saying that, I do still enjoy watching the European Directs with Iwata and Shibata and I definitely prefer them over reading a summary article, or watching a video, from a third-party outlet.

I'll agree that they're a little slow, but I personally prefer that over an 'in-yo-face' or obnoxious manner like some E3 press conferences and videos from news outlets. I don't really think much needs to change, though I would like more specific release dates instead of just projected release windows, especially when the title has been showcased three or more times already.

I think that after january 2013, which were a fantastic nintendo direct, all might look pale in comparison, but, as death said, I would rather heard the news from nintendo itself than from a web site that might twist the information.

True, i don't go on IGNorant anymore for this exact reason. That and the comment section trolls can be a real buzzkill.

Forget Rusty, I'd rather have one of the robots from Basewars than him. My friend Russ agrees.

Definitely NES Remix 3, but Super NES Remix is getting a little bit too advanced.

I guess since I more so grew up with PlayStation/Xbox... and yes, even PC Woody... those sorts of games are actually the type of games getting boring for me. I mean, my first time playing a game was probably on the SNES. I played Super Mario World with my mom, and I have some good memories of that. Once the PS1 came out, though, I didn’t play Nintendo much. We just always had those “beefy” consoles, so I rarely played things on Nintendo (until the GameCube). I did play the hell out of the GameCube, though.

I also played PC a lot, but I always considered myself mostly a casual gamer. Anyways, the point is that I feel like Nintendo, with the Switch, has breathed new life into my gaming passion. Games on PS4 can be great, but after a while they all seem to be just the same stuff and honestly just feel more like a chore to play. Then BotW came, and hoo boy. That game never has felt like a chore to me, I enjoy every aspect to it and that’s rare. So while I do have an Xbox and PS4 and will spend some time on them, the Switch honestly gets most of my love these days. And since I practically skipped the Wii U generation (thanks for not bringing Animal Crossing, Nintendo -_-) this is all kind of fresh for me.

Annnnd I just realized you were more talking about directs themselves, rather than the games.. Well, then... But back on topic, I think the directs for the Switch have been fairly good. A little lacking, but at least there seems to be at least one surprise every time.
