Possibly. Memory hard to find. But I do think I got that ballad. Helped but wasn't the method I would use. Instant transportation instead of having to play the song. Like an option. A tool. Another way. An ability. Cause in my mind the world wasn't open enough for sailing. It was good but there should have been continents IMO.

Totally agree with that. I'm also extremely tired of the 3 dungeon, plot twist formula myself. They need to take the chains off Zelda as one of my biggest gripes w/ Skyward Sword was that it was too restricted. Open World is something that pretty much everyone has speculated, and Twilight Princess was more hyped/more popular than SS so naturally it's the entry we'd lean on when discussing Zelda U in terms of graphics and size, as it's Hyrule Field was not only the biggest, but just as empty as the sky in SS.

This is the one that gets me..

There are 10 dungeons. You can play the first five in any order, and when all are complete, you can play the later five in any order. The game now features a term Aonuma calls "Parallel Dungeons". You will have to multi-task between all 5 dungeons to complete them. Solving puzzles in one dungeon will open doors and change the layout of another. Aonuma states that playing through all 5 dungeons simultaneously will feel like one giant Water Temple (from Ocarina of Time).

If Zelda U only features 10 dungeons, than they got a lot of catching up to do in order to match Skyrim,
which featured over 150 dungeons. Sub dungeons or not, that's a lot of content to live up to. I really
like this parallel dungeon idea though, as that is something I could easily see happen, but whenever I hear
the Water Temple brought up it immediately makes me think a fan came up with this, as that is more or less
the most iconic temple when it comes to the fans, but not necessarily for Aonuma.

I personally think it's going to be a Majora's Mask sequel.

    1. Twilight Princess was empty in both the world and in the character of the game. It wasn't very good. I can't see Aonuma even liking the game very much for these 2 reasons, I'm almost surprised he even made a game with those 2 factors.

    2.

I don't think he's trying to compete with anything other than previous Zelda's, let alone an American RPG :P

    3. Just in case anyone here still is holding on to any hope I will say it again:

THE GAME WILL NOT LOOK LIKE THE TECH DEMO.

I doubt that the new Zelda will be a sequel to any earlier Zelda games. if anything, it will be a prequel to Skyward Sword (which sounds rather dumb to me atm). the general pattern of timeline placement of the first Zelda on a home console (ALttP, OoT SS). with the exception of the WindWaker, all were prequels to the last, first Zelda home console release (with the exception of the gamecube again),A Link to the Past was a prequel to The Legend of Zelda. Ocarina of Time was a prequel to A Link to the Past. again, the gamecube broke this pattern for a short time. Skyward Sword was a prequel to Ocarina of Time.

They needed more to do in the sky. It was a great idea to have the loftwings but there was nothing to do with them. That was my main gripe. They should have taken the islands from Wind Waker as inspiration. If they had done that then mind = blown.

it would be nice, but usually the good zeldas bring things we are not expecting, like, the wolf form on tp, the loftwings in SS and the king boat in WW, so, I'm expecting the unexpected LOL

Skyward Sword is my 3rd favorite Zelda, (ALttP being first, OoT being second) but because of its obvious flaws I do not recommend it to anyone but Zelda fans. They could've taken out the 3 dragon's quests or at least toned them down a bit. Finding those notes under water was a pain. The game also wasn't very open at all, and the flying was really barebones just flying with no exploration really. The islands were lame. That being said, what it did right it did so right and I just in general enjoyed myself a lot.

Oh and The Imprisoned. Yea too much bad to recommend it to any non-fans lol but still love it.

More on topic: I really hope the game is original, like every Zelda, and that they don't follow the style of any previous Zelda game, or use any previous style as a guideline but try their best to make it its own game.

As long as she spent part of the game in her helper form. Best helper ever!

Let her have a morphable feature I do not want to stare at the helper form the whole game again now that you know what she really looks like.

Maybe if it took place in both dimensions, she could be a helper in Hyrule, and her real form in the Twilight dimension?

I was thinking that but link is the wolf form in twilight making her the helper form there would make a little more sense. Or else we have the full form of midna walking next to a wolf (also i loved the wolf/helper combo).

Seeing as she usually hides in shadows in link's world maybe that has changed when she got her full powers restored so she can walk next to link in his world(also makes it easier to just oogle at both at the same time :P).

I don't want a sequel to Toilet Princess. I want a fresh Zelda with a departure from previous styles. I want something that is either naturalist/realistic in design or something truly cartoon like Wind Waker (but different).

That is the definition of unwanted and superfluous backtracking.

That's the first thing that came to my mind, too. Let's hope the rumor--at least that part of it--isn't true, or they've somehow figured out a way to make it much less of a slog-fest than that sounds. I don't even know how you could keep track of all that, either.

It did have quite a few islands. They just needed to be bigger. But I think they wanted the main exploration to be on the ground.

If you take the TP story into consideration, I don't really see how that's possible. It could be a prequel, showing Midna in her pre-weirdo form, but they don't usually place heroes that close together on the timeline. Unless they pull something crazy out of a hat, I don't think Zelda U is going to have anything to do with the TP story.

I actually agree with you here. I don't want to have to be constantly traveling back and forth between a bunch of dungeons, especially if Hyrule field is as big as the rumors say.
