I'm not really interested in the PS4 & the Xbox3. Because a lot of game I love are on Steam... I have the WiiU because of exclusive and maybe some third party games...(good, I except)

    Thanks sir!

If they sold it for 299 Nintendo would need to SLASH the price of the Wii U to 199...I think its gonna cost 450

Well I'm a Pro Member but I'm not on the list cause I don't want it, yeah I wanna know what it looks like and can do but that's it. I bet they won't sell that many once they see the price though, there's no way it would have so much good stuff yet cost so little, I think as most people do it will be over $450+.

The launch of a console is reletivley meaningless. ALL consoles will sell out at launch, every time.

I think Sony will probably price it at 400$ as that price will put some serious pressure on Nintendo and Microsoft.

Well if they did lower the console that low then I think a ton more people would pick it up cause it's such a good deal.

A console that costs 50$ more and is 4x as powerful? I'd say that's pressure. Nintendo would have to cut the price, to at least 300$

I agree the basic should get upgraded to 16 gigs and cost 250$. The Deluxe I guess could stay the same, but should cost 300$

I'm interested in it, but I don't see myself realistically getting it for another 2-4 years.

gamestop is not taking ps4 pre orders yet, just a waiting list?

I guess shopto.net is and preorders are at 399.95 euros which would make it over 500 in the US, even though final pricing has yet to be determined. seems a little steep.

Gotta admit, the streaming feature does look pretty awesome. In the end it's still all about the games though, so I'll be waiting a bit to see what Sony and third parties are cooking up. Don't want another console sitting idly on my shelf as I wait for major titles to land on it.

I think $400 would be pushing it. Didn't the PS3 have a $600 and $500 version at launch? I'm very interested in what Microsoft does, if they chose to go even more powerful than the PS4 or try to fit into that space between PS4 and Wii U at a $400 pricepoint.

I wish Sony went this route (as I'm leaning towards them to be my non-Nintendo console) as Microsoft did where they offer a discounted price for the console with a 2 year contract with Playstation Plus or whatever online system they use because they could start doing a fee based online system due to all of the cloud/streaming options PS4 looks to be incorperating.

Did that guy in the article say that the PS4 will outpower most PC's for years to come? I think most (if not all) modern PC's have at LEAST 8 gigs of RAM. So it's pretty ridiculous to even make that comment. I'm not trying to bash the PS4 in any way, but I just wanted to point out that comment.

    /on topic
Gamestop, just wanting to know about something or signing a wait list does not equal strong demand or hype. You said the same thing about the Wii U and completely blew the thing out of proportion.

Not really. Playstation 4 will be powered by a tiny black hole containing in alternate universe in which you're already trading the system in toward a Playstation 5. I know this because my dad works in the internet. So I'd give it a year or two of overpowering its competitors.

Seriously though, I do find it funny when people make comments like that. They clearly don't understand that all gaming tech originates on PC in some form. If it's a reasonable cost or not is up for debate, but it's very possible to get equal or greater performance out of one if you spend the time and cash.

Interesting, though not all 600,000 of those are guaranteed sales.

I haven't pre-ordered my PlayStation 4 purely due to the uncertainty of disposable income, not to mention the fact I'd like to know a final price - not EB Games' placeholder of AU$899 - and launch date prior to committing. I'm definitely planning on picking up a PlayStation 4 around launch though, if all goes well.

8GB of GDDR5 (found in the PlayStation 4) generally outperforms 8GB of DDR3 (commonly found in modern PCs). I do agree, however, that it's unlikely that the PlayStation 4 will outperform many gaming PCs. It may well appear to do so in the beginning due to the developers targeting the hardware, but in raw benchmarking alone, the high-end PCs should outperform the PlayStation 4.

i agree that it will out perform the majority of pc's like the article says. but most of the pc's on the market are not gaming pc's, let alone ship with a discrete graphics card.

and everyone on the web keeps pulling out the 8gigs of gddr5 card, like its the be all and end all of gaming performance. ignorance is bliss.

I'm not buying a PS4 until I have bought every Gamecube, Wii and DS game that I'm interested in. I have too many consoles lying around already with games that I haven't got yet, so there's no rush to add another one.

By that time, the price of the console and the launch games should have dropped, so it's a win-win situation.

My knowledge of gaming PC's is very limited so I could be wrong, but I'm gonna say if you built a pc in the last year or 2 years it's probably going to be about as strong as the PS4. If you build one between now and to the end of time, the PC will be more powerful

It is like those gaming petitions. half a million people sign it to get the game released, then the game gets released and only half of the people that signed it do buy that game.

Strong demand for Sony's PS4 is no hype

Its a first to know list.

Rumors have the PS4 more powerful than the nextbox its also rumored that nextbox will focus more on being the entertainment hub of your living room than a game console. We should know on april 26th
