The Switch Pro controller is now officially supported on Steam

Valve has announced that the Switch Pro controller is now officially supported on Steam, the PC gaming platform. The Steam Controller Team has added support for the Switch Pro controller in the latest Steam Client Beta.

The Switch Pro Controller supports custom configuration and even supports motion controls.

Here’s what Valve said in the announcement about the Switch Pro controller:

“We think it is a great device with a feature set that pairs nicely with your Steam catalog. The d-pad is ideal for fighting games and platformers and the gyro enhances aim in your action/FPS titles.”

If you want to try it out, you’ll have to opt into the Steam Client Beta. You can read the official announcement and guide on how to get your controller working with Steam here.

Pretty cool. I wonder if it's hard to get it connected.

I don't think my PC has Bluetooth built in. What do I need to receive the signal?

    Erm.. A bluetooth receiver!

You can pick up a generic bluetooth 4.0 USB dongle on ebay/Amazon for a couple of quid or a Belkin one for about £12.

That was more my question. I want sure if any Bluetooth receiver would do the job or if there were a specific product I'd need. Thanks for the response

I was just messing with you.

Yeah, any half decent receiver will do you proud as all it needs to do is enable the PC to see the signal. Mine was a super cheap one I bought years ago and it works fine with my Wii U Pro controller.

Do you have to use special software to detect and use the Pro Controller?
