    Internal storage.

So I've had a PS4 for a little over two months now and I recently bought a Seagate 2TB external hard drive. The storage on the console itself is almost full and I even bought the 1TB SKU.

So I guess my issue is, with how much space games take up these days, why are Sony and Microsoft selling 500GB versions of their consoles? The largest game on my system takes up 77GB of storage, and game downloads are only going to get larger as the years go on.

I just feel for the consumers that see a $249 500GB Xbox or PlayStation and jump on it cause it looks like a good deal...then go home only to realize that they may only be able to fit 10 games max on the system.

I think the current gen consoles should have released a 1TB version as the base version and had a 2TB version as a choice as well.

Because it's an unwinnable race. The storage requirements have gone up so rapidly this gen that as soon as they committed to 2TV internal systems they'd have to be looking at 4.

Plus it's always nice to have a cheap option

I think the price is worth it to some people, because you can always uninstall games and reinstall them later. It's definitely annoying, though. I did the same as you and have a 2TB external. Thank the console gods that Sony finally started letting us have external drives, because they didn't at first.

You could swap the internal drives pretty easily though.

    For those that prefer physical.

Don't you still have to install the entire game on the hard drive, even if you buy physical?

Yes. And whatever updates and dlc you have too

You can uninstall and reinstall the game whenever you want though, and you don't need to worry about bad internet, and if you're one of those people that worries about what happens when PSN goes down in 50 years then you don't have that worry either.

Yeah I'm pretty much a physical-only person and I was surprised by how much space the game installs take up...

If you aren't crazy attached to your saves and are ok with reinstalling everything you can get some internal drives for $50-$80 if you wanna go that route

I'm perfectly okay with the 2TB external hard drive I just got. But thanks for the suggestion.
