    N64 racing recommendations

Sure, I've heard about the hidden gem Mario Kart 64 and minor cult classic Diddy Kong Racing, but I'm looking to go through all the racers the N64 has to offer. Lists, top 10s, reviews, all welcome.

The Excite series is good. I haven't played Excitebike 64, but it looks neat.

I can recommend Excitebots for the Wii which is on the eshop. I own a few hundred games and have played many more, but EB is one of my all time favorites, no question. I don't believe it saw a EU release, but it's not to be missed IMO.

    Very cool game.

World driver. It's the closest thing to gran Turismo on the system. I've never played it but it popped up in a n64 video on YouTube I was watching and looked interesting.

Play Cruisin' USA and drive the school bus. It's funny af

Also Sanfransico Rush 2 has a freestyle type mode where you drive off ramps and do ridiculous tricks. Really fun:

I remember playing rush 2, the physics are really fun. I wonder how they went from that to L.A rush, an open world Los Angeles racer game thing

I remember playing supercross 2000 on n64 also. I'm not sure if it holds up today. Might just be better off playing MX vs ATV reflex.

San Francisco Rush was super fun. Not a whole lot to it. I found the gameplay to be somewhat similar to crazy taxi, but I would just put on a compact disc to listen to and I'd do the free mode and go around doing tricks, or do messed up stuff with the cheat codes.

It's shocking that Wave Race 64 hasn't been mentioned yet. Shame on all of you.

I know this isn't a racing game and probably way off topic, but I spent so much time on Battle Tanx on N64. That game was a freaking blast when I was a kid.

No one has mentioned F1 World Grand Prix yet? Still a great game and is one of the games I always play the odd time the N64 makes a reappearance. For a game released in 1998 (focusing on the 1997 season) it was superb, would fully recommend if you're just after a good realistic racer, unless you don't like F1 that is in which case it may not appeal to you all that much.

I guess no one here but me liked South Park Rally? That's too bad for you
I wonder how many differences there are in this and the map of South Park The Stick of Truth?

Wave Race 64 is still absolute perfection, I really hope they make another sequel to do it justice.

There's a spiritual successor planned for Wii U called Aqua Moto Racing Utopia.

Yeah it's out for PS4 if you want to play it.

As others have mentioned Mario kart 64, Diddy kong racing and F-Zero X are a must.

But there are other racing games I enjoyed in the N64 era, I guess they weren't as popular if nobody remebers them.
