    Question Club Nintendo help

Hey guys! So, I know I've been here for a number of months now and I've always purchased Nintendo games and such but for whatever reason I've never joined club Nintendo...until now.

So, I'm already waaaay past Gold status and on my way to Platinum (will hit it tomorrow if I can find some more game boxes laying around) so my question is: How do I get the Gold/Platinum rewards? Their website said something about points registered from July 1 - June 30 the following year are eligible for newly announced rewards from July-September. Is that correct?

Sorry if my explanation is off, but as I said, I'm new to this and trying to understand how to receive my free gifts for supporting Nintendo like a boss.

    Thanks guys!

I have no idea as Australia doesn't even get gold/platnium rewards.

Yea once you reach gold or platinum status your coins are eligible for that given time frame. They will deduct some points that haven't been used when June hits again.

Excellent, thanks! So, if I can pick 1 Gold AND 1 Platinum tier 'prize' so long as I have enough coins right?

Also, these prizes don't subtract from my overall coin base but regular 'coin purchases' do.

    Is that all correct?

I believe all purchases subtract coins. But with gold and platinum status you ate able to keep them longer without them expiring. I am only a novice with club Nintendo.

So far I have only got a virtual title cause I had points expiring. I should have enough for a big one once these new games come out.

So, reaching the gold/platinum tiers simply means you get the rights to purchase limited-edition stuff but it still takes your coins. Am I understanding this correctly?

What will happen is this. Once the new period ends on June 30th, they will record your status as Gold or Platnim. Then, sometime after July 1st, there will be an option box or an email (can't remember which) to notify you of which status you hit, and to give you a list of options. You will only be able to pick one option total. If you have Platinum, your options will be much more then Gold. You can take a Gold or a Platinum reward if you hit Platinum, or just a Gold reward if you only hit Gold. The rewards usually start going out around November if it's a physical item, and fairly close to immediate if it's a digital option. The reward is free of charge, no coins used, no shipping fees, etc. Your coins in Club Nintendo are only affected by resetting the total for the next years status. On July 1st, you go back to 0 coins for status toward the new year, but your number of coins remain the same. The only way to lose coins is to not use them within 2 years of earning them.

This is exactly how it works. Don't worry about spending coins on a gold/platinum prize. They're free of charge.

You're misunderstanding it a little bit, which it really is kind of confusing. Megamanultra described how it works really well.

Right. After July 1st, you lose your status, and you have to start working toward it again. But you don't lose your coins until you either spend them, or you've had them for 2 years. There are 2 sets of coin counts, which makes it very confusing. One tally is toward your status, which doesn't diminish until July 1st. The other tally is your balance on what you can spend toward prizes. When you spend those coins, you lose them. I think it's very confusing how they set it up. They need to have your status be points, and your balance be coins to keep people from confusing the two.

Same for me. Once I hit Platinum Status for the year, I start setting the registration cards aside for the following year so I don't "waste" points, unless there is something on Club Nintendo that I REALLY want (which isn't very often). I'm still waiting until July 1st to register Mario Kart and get my free game.

Yeah. unfortunately when you buy digital you only have like a month to do the surveys before they expire and they do depreciate over time too

I have a question, I haven't registered any of my Nintendo stuff yet (wii, wii u and some games) and I was wondering if I should wait until July or register them now, since I have MK8 and I want to download Pikmin 3.

Unless you have enough on hand to hit Platinum status, I wouldn't worry about it. The more unique stuff is in Platinum. I have not been too overly impressed the last couple of years on the Platinum offers, but am hopeful this year. BTW, I've only missed Platinum twice since this system went into effect.

Download Zen Pinball, its free and you should get a survey in a few weeks on your account. I think it gives you 10 coins.

Also, do you have Wii Fit registered?

I completed the product registration surveys, but I don't know if you can take more of them.

I will download zen pinball, at least I'll be only 50 coins away. And I don't have wii fit.

Gamestop sells used copies for $1. If you get lucky the club Nintendo code is worth 100 coins. Before you buy it (assuming you would) check that the case has the code inside.

    Something really nice!

Unless you were trying to get to gold or platinum and get something real quick, I would have waited. It's only a week away, and then you'll be back down to zero toward your status. Unless you were trying to achieve something before then, you probably wasted them. But at least you still have your coins toward purchases for 2 years.

Don't forget you also have post-play surveys after about a week. They give you 10 points per game.
