    The State Of The 3DS In 2017

    [size="4+The State Of The 3DS In 2017
    [/size]

    "The state of the Nintendo 3DS in 2017 is "still alive," which often raises the question: When's Nintendo going to kill this thing?
    While it fell far short of the dizzying heights achieved by the Nintendo DS, the 3DS had a pretty nice lifecycle. We had some good times, didn't we? But it's 2017, and every person who buys a Switch is one more person who won't want to carry their 3DS around. Yes, Nintendo calls Switch a "home system you can take with you," but the numbers don't lie; many more Switch owners use it primarily as a portable.

    This is part of our 2017 State Of series, a look at how the major consoles, PC, and other areas of interest are doing this year.
    You'd expect Nintendo to begin drawing down its support for 3DS and shifting people over to the Switch. But wait - 3DS has sold nearly 70 million units, giving every new 3DS game a potential audience as big as or bigger than any other modern console. And 3DS owners are still buying software: Last year's Pokemon Sun and Moon sold a combined 16 million copies, for example.

    So it makes raw financial sense to continue to supply 3DS games, for now. And so Nintendo has. Third-party support for 3DS may have been anemic at best in 2017, but Nintendo kept up a steady stream of first-party releases and even introduced a new hardware variation..."

    Read this earlier. Crazy how well that thing is still selling considering it pretty much got nothing but Pokémon. I can't wait to see how Pokémon impacts Switch and 3DS next year.

    It is good to read that the little machine is still going strong, while being so good, it is actually helping to sell the switch (at least that is how I took it).

    But if your wallet dries it will become too hard to open. Essentially a glued brick in your pants. Causing you to starve because you can't get your money out to pay food and bills. Ultimately losing your family in the process.
    So just relax, take it like a man, and try to enjoy yourself.

    Well that was dark even for me

    I'm playing my 3DS a lot more than my Switch atm.
    Playing mostly Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Haven't played Ultra Sun in a couple of weeks now, I'll continue eventually.

    I didn't want the 3DS to die until I got the Switch for my birthday.

    Now I don't really care either way. I do still have many good memories of the DS lineup, though.
    I'm the wrong kind of people. Why'd you listen to me?

    Well I meant Davo_ has zero for his switch, just poking fun at him like usual :P

    Personally yeah I love my 3DS and all my games for it, but I'm ready for change and need a Switch
