Yesterday we reported that EA was ready to unveil the next details of FIFA 14. Many of you speculated that EA would not support the Wii U with the release and those of you that did, you’re sort of right. EA announced the new game for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 for later this year, but made no mention of the Wii U version. All that was stated was that “additional platforms will be announced over the coming months.” That leaves an open-ended question as to whether or not the game will be announced for Wii U at all.

New features to the franchise include:

  • Pure Shot – allows players to adjust stride and angle to find the best position for a shot, while also allowing players to perform rush shots
  • Real ball physics – determines the most accurate course for a ball to take, allowing for curved shots and other unpredictable shots
  • Protect the ball – enables players to fend off defenders while dribbling at any speed
  • Newly rehashed career mode

It’s interesting to see EA’s announcement snub the already available Wii U, but keep in mind that no next-gen consoles were announced for the game, so it’s possible that EA is holding off to announce for the Wii U until it does so for Sony and Microsoft’s next consoles. What do you think?

Nah, EA has decided Wii U isn’t economically viable, but w/e not missing out on too much.

I think Wii U daily should just skip any news about EA games, unless they confirmed the game. This just gets old and predictable.

    • Bob Brochee

I concur. WiiUDaily gets too many visitors through the door with their negative articles though so they will never stop…

      • Ducked

Somewhat true, but everyone hates EA.

I can’t believe (yet totally expected) that EA is still butt hurt from Nintendo not incorporating Origin, so NONE of their games will come to the Wii U. That business practice is terrible, and EA deserved their 2nd golden poo in a row.

I do believe a Wii U version will release when they announce the PS4 & Nextbox versions. But I don’t buy Fifa every year anyways on any console. I won’t be buying on my other consoles this year either. I’m good with Fifa 13 for a while.

  • ChiwawaBoi

ughhhh. enough with the fifa already!

    • howling_wolf1334:[

Fuck yeah EA, I only feel sorry for FIFA….

“Newly rehashed career mode”…nice dig there Ashley!

there not called worst company for no reason

  • Brad Cooper

Ea is still butt-hurt about the whole Criterion situation

    • ExtremeAzure98

*Origin, not “Criterion”. Criterion Studios is a company that’s OWNED by E.A. They’re the creators behind the recently released “Need for Speed: Most Wanted U” – which will probably be the last E.A game on the Wii U for who knows how long.

At least this whole (immature) reaction from EA, didn’t stop Criterion from developing the aforementioned port, which turned out to be the best port the system has seen yet, not to mention one of the cleanest ports ever.

    winged pikmins guys, winged pikmins!

    • The Clockwork Being

Hell yeah. ”In other news the 3DS is doing good without the EA support.”

Not Wii U at launch and expecting me to buy it? How about no?

  • Only a few are true gamers

    No loss here…Screw EA

Frankly, I’m not at all surprised by any of this. I don’t know why EA is still acting like a preschooler who got his toy taken away. Nintendo backed out of the Origin deal, so they could save themselves from pretty much being left short-handed on finances made with the Wii U’s online system.

I don’t see EA harassing Microsoft or Sony over Origin, so why are they acting like this with Nintendo? Oh well . . . As long as it doesn’t stop me from getting the (very, few) games that’s made by EA’s stolen – I mean – subsidiary companies – (like how Criterion just developed Need for Speed: Most Wanted U) – I’m down.

I don’t care for sports games at all, so missing FIFA doesn’t phase me.

  • dylanbob121

    who cares?

  • Archiq09

Logic EA hate nintendo because nintendo dont want Origin control online of WiiU.

  • Anonymity

    Oh well, their loss

  • I m done with ea same old shit

  • Sidney Majurie

If it aint coming just say so EA. What’s the big effin deal? It just doesn’t make sense these companies do this crap when it comes to Nintendo consoles. What purpose does not telling serve other than to troll Nintendo fans and swell the hatred further for an already despised company?

  • MujuraNoKamen

EA rehashed sports games? No thanks.
How are they gonna screw up this game? charge you for the ball and charge you for a new one when it gets kicked out else you can’t play? FUCK YOU EA!!!!!

  • Miguel Garcia

This is the whole reason why I bought a Wii U, to play FIFA games and now I can’t play FIFA 14. ( I’m selling my Wii U now )
