The Earthlock: Festival of Magic Kickstarter is within its last hours and is on the edge of being funded, but the team at Snowcastle Games still need your help. With only two days remaining and $7k left to go in funding, a final extra push from the backers is needed to get the game over its funding goal. If you’ve been on the fence about whether or not you want to back this project, your pledge could help the game reach the final goal.

We’ve previously covered the game extensively here on Wii U Daily and we even talked to one of the developers, Fredrik Tyskerud. The game is a unique blend of modern game design and the traditional JRPG, which features a unique crafting system for ammo. The combat follows traditional turn-based combat and plenty of strategy will be needed in order for the player to win. Check out the video above and if you like what you see, consider helping the developers get it made!

I have backed this project with 25$. As I said then, people, if you are interested and think this game is worth it, try and back it.

I am not the usual RPG guy (only have played Xenoblade Chronicles as my first RPG) and turn-based RPGs have never caught my attention, but this one did. I honestly hope it gets funded.

    • Brian Lockett

If you like this game, then I recommend you try Golden Sun when it comes to the Wii U’s virtual console. That game is brilliant in terms of turn-based RPG. Legendarily. Easily one of the best turn-based RPGs of all time, no hyperbole.

      • darkcreap

        Thanks for the recommendation!!!

  • gerb1977

This kickstarter has exploded in the last 20 hours or so. Probably close to 20K since then and is down to a little over 5K needed. I hope it makes it. Excited to play this on the Wii U.

    • darkcreap

Yep, pretty impressive. Yesterday night it got like 130K and look now.

    • ~OMEGA~

well congragulatoriations! its made it’s goal!!!

  • Just backed it!

  • Sam

    Oh well…

    • steveb944

      Get on it!

  • Capt. Smoker

talk about milking your backers…. how many times have they relaunched their kickstarter campaign now?

    • Vriska Serket

Like 3 times. At the r8 its going right now they’ll pro8a8ly have to relaunch it AGAIN and go through that hassle. It seems like a charming game, which is sad. Perhaps if they were a 8it less am8itious with their multiplatform they could do it……..

      • Capt. Smoker

I like the ambition but their a little too dense in business, they really don’t seem to know how much it’s going to cost in the end, too much for a game like this at any rate, looks okay but nothing special.

        • gerb1977

They actually have a grant to make the game of some $400,000 grand or so. The kickstarter needs to fund before they get the grant? It was explained in one of the updates but I’m too lazy to go back and re-read. At any rate they have more money then just the kick starter funds

      • Brittany Hettinger

I’ve backed this last time and this round. They’ve only relaunched the Kickstarter once – and it was because it was during the holidays and the lrelease of all the new gen systems. They aren’t going to need to relaunch if you look at how close they are… had a huge jump today and still have the remaining 48ish rush to get well over the funding goal. And the multiplatform helps get more people (they built on Unity so I’m sure that helped). Definitely worth the support.

      • Carmen

I’m sorry, but it seems like you have your information wrong. This is only their second attempt at kickstarter – perhaps you have this studio mixed up with some other project?

    • Virus6

How is it milking? If the campaign fails, they don’t get any money.

      • Capt. Smoker

how else would you define relaunching the campaign this many times?

        • Carmen

They have relaunched once. And it isn’t milking because campaigns generally have a much rougher time second time around (or 3rd or 4th) as the novelty of the idea has been lost. I’m not sure where this negativity has come from – surely you must have this game confused with some other project. Easy to understand to make that mistake!

          • Capt. Smoker

perhaps…. yet I’ve seen many funding articles on this site regarding this project, maybe Wii U daily is milking the project lol

          • Carmen

Wii U Daily has been one of the few press that actually have been keeping track of it (though we did get a nice interview with RPS and a good mention with TenTonHammer). So, as a backer, I’m grateful for their coverage, but I suppose I can see how you could get that impression that it has relaunched from the volume of articles. Still, Wii U Daily has been fantastic to Earthlock.

    • Carmen

They have only had this one relaunch of kickstarter and no other crowdfunding attempts.

  • Entropyguy

I decided to break my policy and actually back a Kickstarter project. This just looks too interesting not to.

  • Matther777

Just needs a few more grand. Although I won’t fund it, it seems like a missed opportunity if failed.

  • Someone Cool

Is this made with project spark?

  • Carmen

This campaign was rather well done with a ton of art assets, the demo, the contest, and lots of fantastic rewards. I’m pleased that it is almost funded! Such a great backer community and friendly developer staff! 😀

  • Nicolas Dorion

Wow, they reached 148,883 $, and still 46 hours to go

  • darkcreap

Wow, they are about to make it right now!!! Just roughly 600$ more!!!

  • darkcreap

    It has got funded!! Great!!

  • Sdudyoy

While it looks like they made it, while I’m not too much into turn base games, looks like we are getting one for those who enjoy them.

  • Swampert Master

I just checked, and they reached their goal! Congrats!

  • steveb944

Well now that it’s funded it’s time to lock in ownership along with some great bonuses!

    • BIG Franky

ahhh… the cowards way of approaching kickstarter!

      • steveb944

I was one of the first to support. At least if people were weary before now they can be happy to know it’s a definite future release. Hopefully this leads to stretch goals being met and the game can be even better.

  • Magnus Eriksson

    Backed with 200 bucks.

    • darkcreap

It better be an irony, Magnuss. That is a lot of money 😀 😀

      • Magnus Eriksson

Its a local company. So no, i actually did.

        • darkcreap

          Platform of choice?

  • NintendoFan

It’s at $154k right now, above it’s target

My money is funny right now, so I can’t back it…
I hope it meets it’s goal because it does look interesting

  • Rygar

Man this website blows. Do they ever post more than three articles a day? Ashley’s writing makes me wonder if she even graduated high school.
Seriously, if you want actual, up-to-date news on Nintendo, head over to nintendolife.com or Nintendo Enthusiast. They actually have more than three articles per day lol.
