EA is bringing one game to the Switch: FIFA 18. And if it sells enough units, the publisher might bring more Switch games in the future.

That’s what EA CEO Patrick Soderlund said in an interview with Edge, where he commented on the Switch and EA’s stance on the new console.

Soderlund started out by saying that he’s a “gigantic Nintendo fanboy” who “takes his Switch with him everywhere”.

But when it comes to supporting the console with more games from EA, he took a more business-like approach.

“At the same time we have to look at it from a resource standpoint and, at some point, the numbers become a factor. So for us it’s about supporting the platform, building technology for the platform, testing it out with big things like FIFA – and maybe a couple of others, we’ll see – and if they go well, I see no reason why we shouldn’t have as much of our portfolio on that platform as possible.”

He added that EA will be on any platform where there are enough gamers, and said that they want to be a part of the Switch and “help Nintendo grow that installed base”.

Then he should release more games on the system.

FIFA 18 has been criticized as a cut down version of FIFA, but in our own experience, FIFA 18 on Switch it’s quite a good football/soccer game.
